Boehner caves on Obama’s amnesty

GOP InvertebrateNo more “plain and simple” than that.

From the WashingtonPost.com:

House passes bill to fully fund Homeland Security

by Sean Sullivan

The House passed a bill Tuesday afternoon to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the rest of the fiscal year, sending it to President Obama for his expected signature. The measure will not target Obama’s executive actions on immigration, giving Democrats what they have long demanded and potentially enraging conservatives bent on fighting the president on immigration.

The vote was 257-167, with some Republicans joining all Democrats who voted to pass the bill, which had already cleared the Senate.

Gosh, what did Boehner say once the GOP had the House and the Senate?  Something similar to “we won’t let amnesty pass”?  Or words to that effect?

Boehner caved.  The GOP caved.

My, the GOP winning both the House and Senate, that was truly a wonderful thing, was it not?  How the GOP would now swoop in and right wrongs?

I wrote quite some years ago about the GOP, and I repeat: “the best predictor of future behavior is past performance, or the lack thereof.”

  1. The ONLY thing I have seen Boehner do EVER that could hint having a spine was inviting Netanyahu to address Congress today. I really thought for sure that Boehner would cave in to the president’s crying and cancel the appearance.

The news today was REPLETE with persons lacking a spine. The president cried and made preschool-esque complaints about Netanyahu. Kerry ran all the way to Switzerland, which turned out to be a double-spineless adventure. Not only did he hide there from Netanyahu but from what the news showed, Iran kicked him around like a soccer ball, as well. As much as I like soccer balls and playing soccer, alas, they too have no spine. Then there was the news of Boehner caving in on the immigration deal. Face it. If it doesn’t involve wearing a pink tie and crying and weeping like a child, he cannot carry through.

Yup. Watching the news on days like today is rather sobering. The ONLY spine I DID get to see was Netanyahu. Imagine. He entered the venue of a seemingly FORMER ally, one that has turned their back on his country and he still valiantly stated his cause for his country (who appreciates it) as well as what would also be the best interests of ours (the latter whose all bash him, abandon him and do so whilst hiding under their beds from him, sobbing one and all).

No matter. I resorted to watching some videos of President Reagan (THAT name and title I WILL respectfully capitalize). Even if a person does not agree with all that President Reagan did and said, NOBODY can ever say that he didn’t address the country with a true spine and a full set of balls.

    • ABSOLUTELY correct, Bx. “The ONLY thing I have seen Boehner do EVER that could hint having a spine was inviting Netanyahu to address Congress today.” CORRECT.

As I wrote, Bx, I have never and never will, on this blog, link the two words together: “president” and “Obama.”

  2. I think Kerry just wanted to go on vacation on our dime again. I’m not quite sure what we can do that is civil to rectify this.

  3. I received this in an email so these are not my words but I think these words are appropriate here:

If America is to save itself you need to start a GENUINE conservative party. The GOP and Dems are two sides to the same coin. They may not have the same agenda, but their end goals are the same. How they get there may differ, but at the end of the day their vision for the country is the same.

  4. And what will they do when obama uses executive action to affect taxes? The press secretary has already said that obama is interested in seeing how to use executive action to remedy tax problems. What will they do when he wants congress to act on eg., tax loopholes and they do not. He will haul out his pen and presto the king will sign a decree.
Or will obama keep on upping the executive action ante until he forces a tipping point to, well, tip.
