Can Obama Learn Nothing?

Mr Obama seems to reflect little of his education. As I figured in SLI, “he has been taught, but what has he learned?”

I submit: he has learned actually quite little. And certainly, he has been massively schooled in the past few months since January 20th. Despite this, he refuses to open his mind to other paths, to alternatives, and continues upon courses that history proves and has proven lead to trouble, ruination, unfulfilled promises and disaster.

Europe danced with Socialism for years and years. The UK continues to embrace.

But the Truth will tend to Out. Witnesseth:

PARIS — A specter is haunting Europe — the specter of Socialism’s slow collapse.

Even in the midst of one of the greatest challenges to capitalism in 75 years, involving a breakdown of the financial system due to “irrational exuberance,” greed and the weakness of regulatory systems, European Socialist parties and their left-wing cousins have not found a compelling response, let alone taken advantage of the right’s failures.

German voters clobbered the Social Democratic Party on Sunday, giving it only 23 percent of the vote, its worst performance since World War II.

Voters also punished left-leaning candidates in the summer’s European Parliament elections and trounced French Socialists in 2007. Where the left holds power, as in Spain and Britain, it is under attack. Where it is out, as in France, Italy and now Germany, it is divided and listless.

Are you reading and heeding, Leftists, Demorats and Socialists in America? I suspect not. You are completely and fussedly Tone Deaf when it comes to History, quite like your current leader. And this — again, are you listening? — despite the seeming “collapse” of Capitalism. Not.

But — oh yes — the version of Capitalism that was FORCED upon private business that resulted in our current collapse. As in: forced loans to those who had no potential to repay. Then let the greed commence, on both sides, buyer and seller.

A collapse that is about to be REVISITED because the Demorats, currently In Power, learn nothing from history. They possess ideological Blinders because they want them. Plain and simple.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that the Obama administration is on the verge of committing as much as $35 billion in financing and subsidies to provide mortgages to low- to moderate-income families. Hmm… this sounds vaguely familiar. The government subsidizing the mortgage market making credit artificially easy — oh yeah! That was one of the reasons why the mortgage market overheated, and we fell into a deep financial crisis. Have we learned nothing?

No. That’s the simple answer.

Are you LISTENING America??

Mr Obama is about to REPEAT the same damned mistake that got us here in the FIRST PLACE!

WHERE is your outrage? Where is your umbrage? Where is your VOICE?

Hello??

Loans to people who have little if any chance of repayment? PUSHED by our government?

Let’s just shoot ourselves in the head and bring down the economy AGAIN!

  1. I have no outrage at the moment because this is the first I’ve heard of it. Give me a moment (and a cup of coffee) to build up my head of steam.

This Big Gub’ment is so busy throwing so many things against the wall to see what will stick, it’s difficult to keep track, without bloggers like you. Thanks for all you do.

  2. it’s disastrous! we’re headed right back in the abyss! i’m sure you’ve also read that the senate finance folks have not put into place any type of regulatory practices to prohibit such things either. something they were all fired up about when all this started…

and now we’re just gonna go right back to the same ole financial dealings and misbehaving that got us here in the first place! and to make it even worse – it’s the same big 5 financial giants that are pursuing the same tactics all over again!!!!

  3. I am just wondering if they did that Flintstones show where they put two guys under that spagetti strainer helmet thing and threw the switch. Obama has switched brains with Bush.
Really, I’m finding very little difference at all except at the margins. Basically, the big boys get more of the government’s (read OUR) money and we all get a little poorer as a result.
Meet the new boss-same as the old boss…

  4. As someone else aptly pointed out, there is no difference between our current president and previous ones, except his melonin content. Sad. People wanted hope and change and got neither.

  5. I did not support Bush’s funding of Medicare, nor NCLB, nor his inability to do anything with SSN, nor curbing the excesses put in place during the Clinton years with Freddie, Fannie and the FHA, nor the expansion of government power with Kelo and Raich… yes and you get accused of being a conservative and toady to Bush for not supporting him in those venues!

    Amazing!

I supported the wars in the way we fought in the Philippine-American war: small, fast, hard, make sure things are tamped down while a representative government stands up, then LEAVE when they have control over their Nation. Monetary support for Germany should have ended in the 60’s, ditto Japan, Italy and S. Korea. A small presence, at best, and let the folks there pick up the slack. Our thanks for not doing that is NO HELP when we need it.

Now we have our modern Woodrow Wilson at 1600 PA Ave who couldn’t stand up to fight and is amazed no one wants his opinions or wants to help him. Our own Neville Chamberlain who will not stand up to dictators. These are not good wars, they are necessary ones and the last time we didn’t stand up to Empire makers and dictators we got worse problems, not easier ones. And our own Congress would not fund the necessary fighting they wanted, nor call upon the American people to fight… and you don’t need more military for that, just a willingness to put those who want to go into harms way under military recognition and let them prosper in the only way our enemies understand: giving them as much damage as they inflicted on us monetarily. The Left calls that being mercenary, it is called Privateering and you don’t do it for pay up front or even half now and half later, you do it for nothing and hope you are good enough to get some reward at the end of it… which is actually riskier than being in the military.

I wish more conservatives would understand that… I know the Left is hopeless in twisting speech to mean what they want it to mean.

So even Bush fails on that, although he had the guts to make a stand and fight. Now the abysmal Left will not hold Obama to Bush standards: to hell with them all. I hold them both to the exact, same, standard and both are failing, only one a bit worse than the other.

Conservative and Liberal Progressives have both lost me: I will support neither type as they are both spineless, clueless and more than willing to absorb individual liberty into the State. And both are willing to run from the responsibilities we hand them to do as necessary for our safety. They don’t want those responsibilities, they just want to tell us how to live, eat, work, spend our money and our lives. Those are enemies of liberty, and I know them when I see them.
