You must always pay attention, these days, to what Washington is doing. This administration, in particular, is attempting to ram down multiple egregious issues simultaneously.
Do not let “cap and trade” pass undisclosed and unnoticed. Please watch this video:
Check out AmericanSolutions.org. This site, assembled by Newt Gingrich and many others, is the one responsible for last year’s DRILL NOW push.
I already wrote about “cap and trade” here, way back on November 3rd of 2009. And what of an actual “Climate Czar” — I wrote about that here.
Sign here to help stop the massive proposed energy tax enabled by Obama’s “cap & trade” policy.
This will do nothing but ensure jobs are lost and America fades. At the expense of, naturally, Mr Obama’s prime philosophy.

Wow, First Comment for once.
You know one of the many problems with the flawed pseudo-science of global warming is the failure to calculate the amount of CO2 that is absorbed by the “green Spaces’ within a country. If they calulate that, especially in the US with all of our wilderness areas, the amt of CO2 we put into the atmosphere is MUCH LESS than other countries like China and India. How about the CO2 Count from the 2 BILLION people BREATHING in those countries while we are at it? I mean really, if the Greenines want to do something to stop global Warming they should ELIMINATE THEMSELVES……
You know, CB, I don’t necessarily disagree that our climate is undergoing some fundamental changes. I just don’t buy INTO the propagranda that ONLY human activity is responsible.
However, I am NOT convinced that this isn’t a natural cycle that occurs in a regular fashion.
Your final sentence is one that I’ve espoused for some time: if the True Greens are TRULY concerned, they would simply commit mass suicide.
Not seen that. Guess they don’t REALLY walk the walk and talk the talk.

How About this for a plan? We take all those PETA freaks and dump them in the Alaskan Bush in the middle of Winter and see how long it is until they Renounce their “Veg-head” Status and kill the first thing that comes their way!!
Most of these ‘Greenies’ have lived their whole lives in cities, and still do. When they “calculate” their “Carbon Footprint” they do not take into account all the energy used just to keep them alive so far from food and water sources. Unless you live on a commune in the middle of nowhere, Grow all your own food, make your own candles, and live and die without ever traveling more than 30 miles from your home you are nothing but a Poser!!
In other words Greenies are Mentally Challanged, and probably need medication.
A Tale of Two Houses
House #1
A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month.. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern ‘snow belt’ area. It’s in the South.
House #2
Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every ‘green’ feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.
The water (usually 67 degrees F) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape. The heating/cooling system is so efficient that initial plans to install solar panels were canceled.
HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville , Tennessee ;
it is the abode of the ‘Environmentalist’ Al Gore.
HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford , Texas ;
it is the residence of the former President of the United States , George W. Bush
’nuff said
As Cato saw, so it is now:
“In what manner then will you be eased, if the expences of government are to be raised solely out of the commerce of this country; do you not readily apprehend the fallacy of this argument. But government will find, that to press so heavily on commerce will not do, and therefore must have recourse to other objects; these will be a capitation or poll-tax, window lights, &c. &c. And a long train of impositions which their ingenuity will suggest; but will you submit to be numbered like the slaves of an arbitrary despot; and what will be your reflections when the tax-master thunders at your door for the duty on that light which is the bounty of heaven. It will be the policy of the great landholders who will chiefly compose this senate, and perhaps a majority of this house of representatives, to keep their lands free from taxes; and this is confirmed by the failure of every attempt to lay a land-tax in this state; hence recourse must and will be had to the sources I mentioned before. The burdens on you will be insupportable-your complaints will be inefficacious-this will beget public disturbances, and I will venture to predict, without the spirit of prophecy, that you and the government, if it is adopted, will one day be at issue on this point. The force of government will be exerted, this will call for an increase of revenue, and will add fuel to the fire. The result will be, that either you will revolve to some other form, or that government will give peace to the country, by destroying the opposition. If government therefore can, notwithstanding every opposition, raise a revenue on such things as are odious and burdensome to you, they can do any thing.“
– Cato No.6, 13 DEC 1787
He is correct: you do not need prophesy to predict the outcome.
Lone Rider: first, welcome aboard, thanks for taking the time to visit, and thanks for taking the time to comment. I had heard about that but didn’t realize the two quite extremes of those individual homes. Well done.
AJ: the more things change, the more they stay the same and, of course, we learn little if ANYthing from history!

The cap and trade thing is so wrong it hurts my feelings. I just don’t have much else to say about it, other than God help us!
Not only lost jobs!
Just think of what’s going to happen to prices for transporting goods and food! These price hikes will hit everyone — upper, middle, and lower classes.
Mr. Z – It is, unfortunately, not a lesson of history but a warning to us… ‘cap and trade’ is a trade on commerce and the window light both. Such things were seen as heinous by those who saw problems in the Constitution and why powers needed to be limited by further checks and balances. If we did not do so we would get the ills that were well known.
Now we have submitted to an ever growing government, year on year, decade on decade, until we change into slaves of the State to be numbered so we can register to get such meager things as government deigns to give us.
That does not take prophecy, and it was not given as such, but as warning. Cato was not alone in the warnings… and now the ills that these clear minded thinkers saw, in 1787-89 come to us. Not all of them, no, but so many as to be shocking. Even the worst and most vituperous had points to make and they did make them. Hamilton, Madison, et. al. shrugged those off after the Bill of Rights was drafted, but even George Mason who drafted those walked away from them. They did not see history as dead but as alive and speaking to them… and they spoke of it to the future… to us.
We were warned.
And we see the price they say we will pay and it is horrific, and slowly taking shape as night after day. It is not that we see Iron Times coming… it is that they saw what the abuses of such a government would finally be and wanted it changed, then, to make the power grab far more apparent and much harder to do. Instead it has been drip on drip since Teddy Roosevelt… until we cannot even see that we are being enslaved by government because we lack the measure for that. Yet the Anti-Federalists hand us the measure as clean as it was the day they used it… some cannot abide by it and claim it was a ‘simpler time’ and yet it was not, to them, all that simple. I look at the measure and grow disgusted by those excusing the slow enslavement of our people as it is all for ‘good things’. And they are just excuses for enslavement.
I have learned the one word as to measuring politicians and it is a word that requires action from them.
It is ROLLBACK.
Counter-Attack to drive the power of the State down and eliminate it in many facets of life. The ills of the 19th century were made far worse by the ‘cures’ of the 20th in the way of government.
If any Republican, or indeed any politician, wants my vote, the word ROLLBACK and the agenda TO DO THAT must be clearly stated, backed and carried out. No excuses of it being ‘hard’: winning free of chains is ALWAYS HARD.
We are losing time for a civil way out of this.
Soon the path of good intentions will wind us up in Hell… then the only way out is forward and through as the gate will have slammed shut behind us.
ROLLBACK.
While there is still time to do so.
