ClimateGate & Copenhagen

Just as the chrome is coming off the Obama Shiny, so is “Global Warming” being exposed as a manipulated cliche.

Persons believing in “Global Warming” are those I term the Religious Left; that is, people who cling to GW out of a belief system and not any particular set of indicators of true facts.

Far be it for them to be considerate of any article, book, suggestion, sentence or private thought remotely suggesting the GW Sword of Damocles isn’t hanging over our heads, to be released in less than a year, less than a month, less than a week oh-migawd-we’re-all-gonna die!

Any and all indicators of weather anomalies certainly must be anthropogenic in nature. There can absolutely, positively, unrefutably be no other answer extant!

And what of ClimateGate?

Unfortunately it would appear, as has now been released not just in the UK but globally, that there are 72 documents and 1,079 e-mails indicating that “Global Warming” is a purposely-intentioned hoax perpetuated by agendist “scientists” who are, in truth, naught but adherents to the Religious Left.
The Wall Street Journal writes correctly when it says:

The furor over these documents is not about tone, colloquialisms or whether climatologists are nice people. The real issue is what the messages say about the way the much-ballyhooed scientific consensus on global warming was arrived at, and how a single view of warming and its causes is being enforced. The impression left by the correspondence among Messrs. Mann and Jones and others is that the climate-tracking game has been rigged from the start.

Want to see the documents and e-mails? Go here for the Hadley CRU files (61.93 MB).

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.

I’m not customarily a visitor or believer in Alex Jones, but he got it right in this article:

The globalists, the eugenicists, are in this for the long haul. All of their eggs are in the climate hoax basket. They’re not going to stop now. Why would they? We all know this was never about climate change in the first place. We knew that they knew that it was the sun driving the climate, and that temperatures haven’t risen in at least ten years. If this were about saving the Earth – if they truly were not evil, just wrong, as the newest documentary naively suggests – then the climate scientists would’ve packed it in a long time ago.

No, what this is and always was about is an excuse for global government.

What would be the point of, first, any kind of central control of one nation?  And then, with that nation or a number of nations in tow, the central control of a global government?

Power, of course, ladies and gentlemen.  Power.  Money.  And an Absolutist Dictatorship.  Control.
Reuters, of course, states emphatically that the furor is all a load of crap.  The scientists were nothing but completely misinterpreted because, of course, they logically and customarily speak above the heads of the Groundlings at all times of the day and night.  You couldn’t possibly fathom their real meanings and intent; you haven’t the brain power or the first clue.  They are the True Informed; you are a member of the Great Unwashed Ignorant.
Further, according to the UK (isn’t it odd that most of this unmitigated refuse seems to stem from the prancing minds of UK GOWPs?), “Climate sceptics have lied, obscured and cheated for years. That’s why we climate rationalists must uphold the highest standards of science.”
Sound strange?  Collusional?  Conspiratorial?  Can’t be true?  Tinfoil time?  I’m way out of my element?
Odd, then, isn’t it, that he coincidentally seems to have a new book published, entitled “Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis.”  And let’s see, might one of his solutions be the geothermal turbine?  Gosh, might that be because the Energy Department recently awarded $560 million in grants to several utilities that are directly linked to one Gore-backed firm — ?  Since, after all, one of Mr Gore’s primary roles now is “venture capitalist.”  Coincidence?
Even Australia is coming to terms with so-called AGW, or “Anthropogenic Global Warming”:

Australia is leading the revolt against Al Gore’s great big AGW conspiracy – just as the Aussie geologist and AGW sceptic Professor Ian Plimer predicted it would.

ABC news reports that five frontbenchers from Australia’s opposition Liberal party have resigned their portfolios rather than follow their leader Malcolm Turnbull in voting with Kevin Rudd’s Government on a new Emissions Trading Scheme.

Global Warming“?  You can bet that when anyone speaks of the NEED to immediately cease Global Warming, the literal translation is: “You must be taxed, your pockets turned inside out, capitalism ended, rights curtailed, Socialism instituted.”
It’s ALL about removing your freedoms, eliminating private property, curtailing your speech, increasing your taxes, enabling the Cloward-Piven Strategy.
Copenhagen?  I doubt there will be much done.  Most all the developing nations (China, India) want developed Western nations, in particular the United States, to take all the hits regarding limitations and cash.  They themselves wish to be completely unfettered so as to dominate their competitor: the US.**  Eliminate us.  Humble us.  China, by the way, is the world’s biggest polluter, not the United States.  India has not announced that it is willing to make any cuts in emissions.
Still: Mr Obama and his national set of adsentatores are slowly coming to a realization, and that is this: Life is not quite as easy as once so glibly pronounced by Our Hero Himself.
Citizens beware: Mr Obama and the Globalists and Religious Left are coming for your wallets and oh-so-much more.

One note aside: you may be unaware that EADS, the parent manufacturer of Airbus and the largest competitor to Boeing in terms of commercial air transportation, was recently found to be in marked collusion with several European governments with the sole purpose of toppling, by way of multi-governmental funding streams, Boeing’s dominance in aircraft sales.

  1. I notice this is getting minimal coverage in the media.
I’m not surprised. The data used by many of the aggressive environmental groups has been in question from the beginning.
You nailed it on this one BZ.

  2. Thanks Jennifer. Look, those who actually have a bit of an open mind don’t mind talking about the conservation of energy and our resources. There’s nothing wrong with finding alternative fuel sources. There’s nothing wrong with trying to use technology to identify replacements for fossil fuel. But a place for everything and everything in its place.

But it’s pointless to bankrupt the national economy over “carbon credits” as in CapNTax — which will actually enable the further weakening of the entire world. You weaken America you weaken its defenses. You weaken its defenses and you weaken other nation-states as well. You don’t think that’s the stated and unstated goal of countless enemies?

Wind power won’t do it all. Geothermal turbines won’t do it all. Solar won’t do it all. And, truly, all considered, petroleum isn’t that inefficient.

There’s nothing wrong with energy independence. I advocate it, frankly.

All most people are asking is this: don’t bring down the entire system at once. There’s NOTHING yet sufficient stable with which to REPLACE it.

Further, whilst people are trying to seek alternatives, it’s time to buttress existing infrastructure and then build MORE infrastructure for expanding populations.

While the Religious Left want electric this, electric that — there isn’t sufficient infrastructure to keep the current grid running smoothly on hungry days. I had my share of brownouts and a few total blackouts just this past summer.

What happens to that same grid when you clot it up with electric cars? More electric engines replacing gas motors? Answer: you kill it ALL.

We have, as a nation, enough LPG under our OWN soil to STOP purchasing anything further others. We are RICH in LPG and coal. We have shale oil aplenty sitting under our domestic noses. We have massive areas of untapped oil reserves within our OWN territorial ocean limits.

It’s precisely WHY I write in my sidebar:

    DRILL NOW!
    – drill ANWR
    – drill off our coasts
    – drill domestically

    BUILD NOW!
    – build electrical generation
    – build nuclear
    – build refineries

    CUT NOW!
    – kill earmarks
    – balanced fed and local budgets
    – bring in Murray Blum

What I accuse the Religious Left of doing is cutting off the national nose to spite its face. They are focusing on one narrow path and refusing to really open the scope of their views and encompass as many aids as possible. They are thinking with emotions and not facts.

These assholes from the UK aren’t helping, either.

  3. BZ, this is a great round-up of concise interpretations of what we know, as well as the nay-sayer’s pitiful responses.

As you said, they have their whole agenda invested in their warmist theories. They’ve known for years there is no such thing. We must bring these people down, but we will get no help in doing so.

    Great post!

  4. What is even more amazing is that EA CRU lost their original databases. When they moved facilities they simply dumped the paper and mag tapes to ‘save space’. Yet I’ve known geologists who keep decades of data on punch cards and the department makes space for them… I believe a digital readout was scheduled to be done and readouts put on to write-once, read many permanent disks. Archiving is a problem. Tossing data is unacceptable to any scientific organization.

We can have good, reliable energy sources, even if electrostatic containment fusion doesn’t prove out (and the test facility had to scramble to get any money to be built), but it requires building infrastructure for it. ANY replacement for traditional fossil fuels requires new infrastructure and maintaining the old infrastructure during the transition decades. Space based solar is cheap, plentiful and India is now heading towards that with THEIR first test facility. China shows interest in that, also, as well as Japan. America should have led that push back at the FIRST energy crisis, but exploring space was far less important than solving the problem of poverty… say, is that solved YET?

So we stifle scientific and technical advancement towards new energy sources and creating a new industrial base out of the biosphere… all chasing poverty and ecology, and yet doing little to address the fact that industry in a biosphere will always have impacts and that poverty is relative. Then we get AGW trying to push us off of the fuels and energy sources we have to those that can’t supply us with anything like even 10% of our energy needs in a decade or three. We could have built safe third and fourth generation nuclear plants, but, no, that was blocked, too.

Thus we don’t: make the poor rich, expand our economy, create a clean orbital industrial base, build out a cheap solar power system in orbit, use clean nuclear plants to generate electricity, and generally get scolded whenever we try to advance to create a brand new platform for humanity to live on and expand economies so the poor could get jobs and be encouraged to be productive members of society.

In what way is this looking towards the future or even ‘good’?

Yet that is the end result of where the Progressives on the Left and Right have gotten us. They have confused bleeding hearts with slashed wrists and given us the latter in search of the former.

  5. While many of their small scale proposals are good ideas, the idea that they can force people to make changes is unacceptable. I would love a personal wind-turbine but it would never be enough for many people.

Hopefully the go green fad will soon pass and will once again simply be the motto of the fans of the Michigan State Spartans.

It all goes back to the idea that truth is relative and the consequences of a belief are more important than the facts.

  6. BZ,
This is a slam dunk post. Nailed! I agree entirely that it is criminal that we aren’t tap our own resources. The fact we are getting pounded in gas and energy prices is attributable to the malfeasance of our government. I say the only solution is taking an industrial strength leaf blower to the capitol building and cleaning house. Great post.

  7. Thanks all!

AJ: YES! It was THEY who lost all the info — ! And THEY who were found to have gotten RID of DATA!!

sHOp: and we’d all do what we could if it was VIABLE. And could make a DIFFerence!

LOT: thanks kindly. Leaf blowers? They, likely as with most people, make me CRA-AAAA-ZY!!

  8. Deacon:

Might I suggest you actually contribute reasoning and facts into the argument, or is that too terribly challenging?

I don’t mind you commenting here, as long as you provide a logical and rational argument.

    Provide it.
