Senate Democratic leaders on Thursday blamed Capitol Hill media for setting an August deadline for health reform and Republicans for blocking the bill’s progress.
Reid said reporters created a fictitious deadline of a successful vote by the August recess, and downplayed the fact that the chamber won’t meet that mark.
“That is a deadline that you created,” Reid told a group of about 75 reporters. “It’s not like we don’t have a product. Significant progress has been made … The mere fact that this wasn’t done by last Friday or by five o’clock doesn’t mean we’re not going to get a quality product.”
Oh, please. What a load of unmitigated crap. Mr Obama wanted everything yesterday, everything rammed down immediately, so that The People would be stunned by a flurry of action and wouldn’t recognize or realize what was happening until too terribly late.
That course of action, unfortunately for them, hasn’t worked out well due to Conservatives rallying in the form of blogs, various internet groups, sites, magazines and — gulp! — Conservative talk radio. The public is becoming better educated on both ObamaKare and Cap-N-Tax.
So, when Epic Fail looms, what do the Demorats do?

You have to love how older folks are starting to realize that Obamacare means no medicaire, less medical care, and getting to take a painkiller if you get heart problems. If you could just cut out that last, most expensive year of life, why there would be more wealth to spread around…
Those older folks who voted for the nice young man who is black to make themselves feel good now realize that vote put in someone who does not have their health as a concern of his. Being young, naive, never having had a major health problem, and using his failing mother as a prop for his campaign. If Obama really wanted to end the medicaire problem and SSN’s coming insolvency, he could just raise the retirement age into the mid-70s… but try to get THAT through Congress. So no solution on SSN, Obamacare looking to be DOA, and an insolvent government due to SSN outlays, massive ‘stimulus’ spending that still leaves the economy in the doldrums and then the second dip of recession to pay for the ‘stimulus’ which will then bring inflation… of course we could just scrap these failing systems: SSN, Medicaire, etc. and put in a massive tax break and tell folks to figure it out for themselves. But that would mean trusting the people more than government and we just can’t have that, now, can we? Because government has done just such a swell job with SSN, Medicaire, VA benefits, FEMA, rebuilding a sinking city…. why the list of competence at no cost is, well, void.
If you think government can actually do the right thing, just take a look at the mess it has gotten us into with mortgages, taking over auto companies, and the lovely things it funds and is going bankrupt on. When Progressive ideals meet economics, you get poorer and government goes into steep debt. And we all pay.
And yet, AJ, AARP seems to be in complete lockstep with ObamaKare. Where is the logic in that??It’s Kevorkian done on a federal level.
