Feinstein’s Conflict: She Resigns

Seen this anywhere on the DEM (Defeatist, Elitist Media)?

From the MetroActive website in the Fornicalia San Francisco, San Jose area:

SEN. Dianne Feinstein has resigned from the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee. As previously and extensively reviewed in these pages, Feinstein was chairperson and ranking member of MILCON for six years, during which time she had a conflict of interest due to her husband Richard C. Blum’s ownership of two major defense contractors, who were awarded billions of dollars for military construction projects approved by Feinstein.

Did you read this closely? Do you understand that Diane Feinstein has been purposely lining her husband’s (and consequently her) pockets because she chaired the committee responsible for APPROVING contracts worth billions of dollars awarded to her husband’s companies?

She may as well have reached into your checkbook and forced you to write checks to her account.

And yet, the MainStreamMedia (MSM) are COMPLETELY SILENT on this.

Page one news, above the fold!

No? No news? All you hear are the crickets chirping in the fields?

And where is the GOP on this? Where are their critiques?

I hear, instead, a deafening silence.

WHY IS THAT?

  1. Good question, BZ! I’m surprised she resigned in the first place, since Dems never hold their own accountable for anything. But wait… she didn’t resign from the Senate, did she? She only resigned from a Senate sub-commitee.

  2. Great post…

I’m not making any excusses for Feinstein but they all do it.

Look at Cheney and Halliburton, Bush and the Saudi’s.

Hell, my own family has done it.

I remember my dad coming home and telling my mom that he had just bought a factory that did nothing but make the darts that go in bombs and hangranades. When she asked, “Why in the World would you buy a factory like that?” he replied, “Because, we’re going to war with Vietnam”.

  3. Gayle: yes, she only resigned from the committee. O, courageous Diane!

Ranando: I don’t care about the factory or what it makes, that isn’t the point. Diane purposely chaired that committee solely to pour US taxpayer dollars into her husband’s (and consequently HER) pockets. And NO ONE appears to find this remotely outrageous? No news? No coverage? How can this be?

Imagine if Diane had an (R) behind her name!

Cheney had hes interest put into a trust, just like the politicals are supposed to when they take office. Feinstein took 6YEARS to fially get around to deciding it wasnt right. Bush and the Saudis? Since when are the Saudis a corporation you can buy stock in?

Was you dad able to decide which govt contracts were awarded to his factory? I’m guessing no.

  5. Have you contacted your local media asking why they didn’t cover this?

    Here’s what I wrote:

    Hello,

Senator Feinstein recently resigned her position from the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee.

    http://tinyurl.com/2f3vls

In light of the revelations that her husband owned two major defense contractors, who were awarded billions of dollars for military construction projects approved by Senator Feinstein, and also holds large investments in companies that were selling medical equipment and supplies and real estate leases—often without the benefit of competitive bidding—to the Department of Veterans Affairs, it seems something inappropriate was going on.

I’m having a hard time understanding how the resignation of a high profile Senator sitting on one of the Appropriations subcommittees, especially one from our own state of California, is completely ignored. I couldn’t care less whether it’s a Democrat or a Republican (we all know that personal and professional corruption runs deep on both sides of the aisle), I would just like to see news of this type in my local paper.

I would appreciate it if someone could reply to me with an explanation as to why this story was never mentioned in The Star.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Feel free to use it as a template for your own communications with your local media.

  6. Given what Congress has as its responsibilities and that DiFi put pork into her hubby’s pocket, where does *she* get off complaining about not enough armored vehicles when it is Congress that has the sole purview in that area for outlay, budgeting and the entire infrastructure support of the Armed Forces?

Or is she unable to write a bill to address such things? Perhaps needs an extra 3 or 4 staff members to help her to remember how to do her job? Or wasn’t hubby getting anything from it?

It is so much easier to complain that the job isn’t being done when it is *your* job that isn’t being done by *you*. At least we now know where she thinks her priorities are… too bad the Nation takes a back seat to them.

  7. Henry: thanks for stopping by and thanks for commenting; welcome aboard. Yes, yours is an excellent idea. My local newspaper is clearly Left Leaning as it is one of the McClatchy holdings. Therefore they’ll do what they do best when it involves the transgressions of Fornicalia Democrats: choose silence. It’s their job. I know what the Bee would do: nothing. But, Henry, if you receive a reply to your query, I would VERY much like to hear, if you might be so kind.

AJ: that’s precisely it. It is HER job to DO. And yet she finds time to NOT do her but DOES find time to line her familial pockets. Isn’t that something?
