Gloria Allred: Rush Limbaugh needs to be prosecuted criminally

Rush Limbaugh has drawn the ire of celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, who sent a letter to the Palm Beach County state attorney requesting an investigation into whether the popular radio host should be prosecuted for calling a law student a “slut” and “prostitute” last week.

“Mr. Limbaugh targeted his attack on a young law student who was simply exercised her free speech and her right to testify before congress on a very important issue to millions of American women and he vilified her. He defamed her and engaged in unwarranted, tasteless and exceptionally damaging attacks on her,” Allred told POLITICO Friday afternoon. “He needs to face the consequences of his conduct in every way that is meaningful.”

If that is the case, Ms Allred, then might I suggest the following:

1. Randi Rhodes: PROSECUTE
Leftist talk show host Randi Rhodes, formerly of Air America (back when Leftists actually had a radio network — for about 35 seconds — that they would support), said about conservative women:

You know, these women, somebody really needs to go repossess their ovaries. Really, truly, they have no right to them. They are fabulous, little organs and they have absolutely no right to be estrogen-bearing beings. Okay? Just cut ‘em off, let ‘em go through the hot flashes, let ‘em just sit there and complain about hormone therapy, okay? Just take the ovaries and get it over with. Because they don’t deserve to have estrogen. They really don’t. It’s a privilege.”

Right. Let’s just cut the ovaries out of only Conservative women. Resultingly, Ms Rhodes needs to be prosecuted by the same statute allegedly applicable to Rush Limbaugh.

2. Bill Maher: PROSECUTE
From the DallasVoice.com (The Premier Media Source For LGBT Texas) in re Bill Maher’s show in front of a Texas audience:

It’s that fearlessness — he acknowledged that some people would probably be uncomfortable with some of his remarks about religion, not to mention calling Sarah Palin a “cunt” (“there’s just no other word for her”) — that makes Maher the most dangerous person in comedy.

And boy, I’ve got to tell you, calling Sarah Palin a cunt is just knee-slappingly uproarious! Such insight! Such cutting-edge wit! (Verified here as well.)

3. Howard Stern: PROSECUTE

Where, I ask, was Gloria Allred during these incidents? Conspicuously absent, I submit. Crickets chirping in the fields. Words and rhetoric akin to Mr Limbaugh — only those words rise to the level of censorship or, further, prosecution, in the green skies of Ms Allred on her blue planet.

And might I make a final suggestion in this arena:

That Ms Allred be prosecuted herself under 42 USC 1983 — called a “1983 Action” — for the deprivation of Mr Limbaugh’s Constitutionally-granted civil rights should Allred find a prosecutor sufficiently daft to file against Limbaugh.

A 1983 Action for Ms Allred; now that would be ironic, would it not?

  1. I’m one of those who don’t one bit what Limbaugh said.

    However, we do have a First Amendment in this country. If Allred pushes forward with this, she will make into a Limbaugh a free speech hero. I also dislike frivolous lawsuits. Heaven forbid that Allred ever spill hot coffee on her own lap.

    As for Bill Maher, don’t forget his rant about handicapped people, when he said they should be treated as pet dogs and not human beings. The Nazis singled out this group of people for derision (a la Maher) and extermination before they even started on the Jews.

  2. DM, it’s all over the internet.

    Limbaugh should be free to speak his will. On the other hand, so should all those others. But if you prosecute one THEN all the others should be prosecuted as well.

    It’s all quite ridiculous and Allred knows it.

  3. One additional note:

    Sleep Train used to advertise with Rush Limbaugh, and followed him to New York from Sacramento — where Limbaugh got his “big break.”

    After his fracas, Sleep Train dropped Limbaugh.

    A few days passed, then Sleep Train wanted to come back to Limbaugh.

    Limbaugh said no.

    Advertisers are certainly free to drop venues where theirs ads are played or displayed.

    Conversely, Limbaugh, for example, is free to refuse their requests to “come back.”

    It’s a chance they take.

    I say: good for Limbaugh.

    You rolled the PC dice, Sleep Train, and you lost.

  4. Libbers are all for FREE SPEECH, as long as THEY are the ones speaking…

    Allred is a Drama Queen and media whore, nothing else to say…

    Rhodes, Stern and Maher want Rush prosecuted? 3 of the MOST insignificant people on the left want a prosecution?

    Wouldn’t they be better served to sweep their own doorstep 1st??

  7. If anyone is deserving of prosecution and hard time, it is Allred for lying to the legal system and getting involved in frivolous lawsuits.
