GOP Debate: No Fire Whatsoever

I’ll sum up the Fox News/Google Thursday night GOP debate:

Disappointing.

But there were some insight3B”>this come from? Perry sounds more like an apologist on the order of GW Bush. Deja vu all over again?

Mitt Romney handled himself with greater aplomb than Perry. Romney was the class act of the night’s field. He was the objective “winner.”

Ron Paul was — uh — Ron Paul. He’d do for gold what Obama did for the dollar.

Bachman came off poorly. Gingrich came off much, much better than her. The rest of the group is, at this point — also considering Herman Cain, who came off not just well but superb — mostly unelectable in reality.

But the bottom line?

Who burned for the GOP?

Who could face Mr Obama in a debate and set the TV screen on fire for the Conservative side of the equation?

At this point?

No one that I can discern.

  1. 2008 Redux I fear…

We’re going to end up with another *lesser of the evils*, but this time it is imperative that Obama be removed from office, none of the GOP offering rings my bell, but most of them are better than Obama, not what America truly needs, but better than Obama none the less…

I submit, a pile of dog crap is more competent than Obama, but that gives me no comfort…

  2. That said, I was taken to task by certain personnel by doing something similar to that for 2008: saying that a “lesser of evils” be brought to the forefront.

In this light, I’d take ANY one of those people on the stage OVER Mr Obama for 2012.

    No comfort.

    No comfort indeed. Agreed.

  3. If Perry was half the man Bush was (and I wasn’t a total Bush fan), I’d be happy.
THEY ALL DISAPPOINTED ME SO BADLY last night..couldn’t watch much, but it’s just as well.

    BLECH!!!!

  4. There are a few rumblings about Chris Christie running after all. He would be my choice if it turns out to be true. If not, then Herman Cain. The only thing I know for sure right now is that if it boils down to NObama and Paul, then I will get at least 1 vote!

  5. No problem for the masthead (That’s one of the easiest things I deal with)
We’re going to be stuck with the lesser of two evils again, but this time the division between the evils will be great. Perhaps if we look at it like a chess match it would provide solace.

We went FAR FAR Left with Obama, we may get back to center with the next one and things will improve but not greatly. The next election can produce a candidate that swings the meter further right. One thing is for sure the conversation is MOVING THE RIGHT WAY NOW.

  6. Mr. Zeppelin,

What the Hell are you and your elected officials doing giving the Chinese hundreds of billions of dollars worth of work in Mexifornia?

    No out of work Mexifornians?

Need Chinese Companies and workers to build your roads and bridges?

It is no wonder you all lost your state to a bunch of uneducated wetbacks.

By the way, here in Arizona we carry concealed, with no permission from Law Enforcement to do so.

  7. But, put up to Obama, will ANY of them have the hook, the charisma, the cult of personality to win over Obama since — after all — Americans don’t seem to vote for more than “presence” and/or AGAINST something.
