HEROINE

She is The Left’s “new worst nightmare.”

An armed security guard, hired specifically to guard the New Life Church managed to stop further killing by, oddly enough, doing her job. She shot the assassin in the head and dropped him to the floor like an anvil.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Jeanne Assam appeared before the news media for the first time Monday and said she “did not think for a minute to run away” when a gunman entered the New Life Church in Colorado Springs and started shooting.

Let’s see: Westroads Mall shooting, prohibition against regular citizens carrying firearms inside, assassin is not stopped, carnage stops only when AK-47 equipped murderer shoots himself, eight people killed, five wounded.

Church: Two killed, one wounded. The murderer was carrying two handguns, an assault rifle and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, said Sgt. Jeff Johnson of the Colorado Springs Police Department. From the story:

Assam’s actions saved the lives of 50 to 100 people.

The same murderer had killed two persons earlier at a Missionary Center (and wounded two more) where there was no security similar to the New Life Church.

Conclusion: Evil is stopped. By a firearm.

Imagine that.

  1. INDEED! I totally LOVE the way you compared the two shootings and you are right on as usual.

These prohibitions are usually pushed by liberals who want us to give flowers to people who want to put suitcase nukes in our cities.

In my opinion, the mall shooting should be touted as the masacre that could have claimed less life had there been guns allowed. BUT NO.. Instead, the drive by’s psycho analyze the gunner’s background and start griping about whether we should do profiling and “Oh.. what can we do to prevent this.. To see it in a person before they do this so we can stop it from happening”..

O.K. evil is evil is evil.. You can’t predict it or stop it, I.E. That is why we have the right to bear arms. That is why we have the right to protect ourselves. That is why they should not have had the prohibition on guns in that mall.

Let this church be the example of the way things should be.

  2. I hope she gets an award, a book deal, a movie deal, hits the lottery and the Nobel Prize (its seems anyone can get one of those lately though), maybe even a Playboy photo shoot.

  3. I notice how MSN.com (my company’s start off internet) is pushing
“Unarmed man confronts shooter” while in the story mentions how he tried to get a gun from a security guard who wouldnt fire at the POS.

  4. And she’s not hard on the eyes either…

Nice hair, decent face, wears jeans and western shirts and she has no problem with blasting a bad guy…

    I think I’m in love…

  5. Funny I dont recall in any of the accounts of either the woman who shot him or the guy who tried to get the gun from the security guard who wouldn’t shoot about the POS turning the gun on himself. Maybe its a case of suicide by cop/security guard?

  6. Even though it turns out that the perp shot himself in the head, this woman is a heroine, and deserves a medal, not the wrath of the liberals who believe she is a vigilante.

  7. All:

I’d wager this: every survivor of the 1991 Luby’s Cafeteria massacre in Killeen, Texas (24 dead), and every survivor of the 1984 McDonald’s massacre in San Ysidro, CA (21 dead) wished there had been ANY armed person within those businesses at the time.

  8. Awesome post!! I was so excited when I heard this story and plan on posting on it tomorrow. It kind of blows away the rationale of gun control. It is hard to fathom how many lives she saved.

  9. I say three prayers regarding my firearms.

    1. That all will be safe. No messed up cartridges or malfunctions. No accidents. No serious circumstances to my stupid mistakes.
    2. That even though I take time to shoot well, I won’t ever have to.
    3. That if I do have to, I do well.

The thought of discharging a weapon in church sickens me. I’m sure it sickens her too.

I guess this is one of those cases where private citizens get to experience the sick reality that you peace officers deal with all the time. May God bless all the do right boys for doing the dirty work for the rest of us.
