It’s A Bare-Knuckled Fight Between Sunni & Shiite

Iraq has canceled all police and military leave to concentrate on what appears to be the beginnings of a potential civil war between Sunni and Shiite factions of Islam.

At 7 AM Wednesday morning, the Al-Askariya Golden Mosque (above) in Samarra, Iraq, was bombed by gunmen dressed as Iraqi police commandos — the mosque having deep historical significance in Shiite Islam.

Since then, over 100 people have been killed as Shiites have retaliated and Sunnis retaliated in kind. Bodies have been found dumped all over Baghdad, other mosques hit, people ambushed by gunfire, imams killed, and violence reported all over Iraq.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is doing his level best to fan the flames of violence, predictably blaming the United States and Israel for the Golden Dome bombing, saying it was the work of “defeated Zionists and occupiers.” Ahmadinejad said: “They (US forces) invade the shrine and bomb there because they oppose God and justice.”

  1. Last summer, when my Son was still in Baghdad, we were talking one night and I told him that Iraq was going to dissolve into Civil War…

He strongly disagreed with me and made no bones about telling me i was *out of touch* and he KNEW the people of Iraq were going to approach their problems in a *reasoned* fashion, all they needed was time…

So, he calls me last night, “Damn Pop, you were right… The bastards ARE going to fall into full blown Civil War…”

Me, ” If I tell you a piss ant will pull a freight train…”

LMAO.. Sorry, but the true stuff is funnier than so-called comedy..

  2. Texas, I think you have the correct view of these people. It is not a racist statement, but a true statement based on observation and history.

I was waiting for the day they would turn around and stab us in the back after we freed them from Sadaam. That is what the leader is doing. When it comes to taking sides, they take the side of the insurgents over the ‘occupiers’ (our military)..
I think we should have freed them and started the spread of democracy, but they will never be reasonable. NEVER.

  3. I don’t consider this a “stab in the back” like revka, but that’s what that intercepted message from Al Zarkowi (or however in heck he spells his name) said that he was going to try to do. If we end up with Shiistan, Sunnistan, and Kurdistan that’s what will happen. The really scary part is if Turkey jumps in to prevent Kurdistan, Syria to support the Sunnis and Iran to support the Shia.

  4. Just a continuation of the same crap that started over a 1000 years ago when a sociopathic pedophile got caught, and tried to justify it by saying “God” told him it was alright.

  5. Rebecca:
It was Iran’s president who said that stuff not Iraq’s.

    BZ:
Muslim extremists do not appear to be civilized. Look at the cartoon controversy. And today Michelle Malkin’s blog was shut down by the same extremists.

I finally posted the Bush Whoop-ass photo that you posted awhile back and linked to you.
