July 4th, 2010

Most other bloggers will expand, and duly so, on the history of our nation and the roots of its founding.

I have but one question today:

Will we remember November?

Do we have the national will to do what needs to be done, in the voting booth.

That, today, is the only way we will save our country now.

This country will succeed — or failby our own hands — in November.

  1. Some of us certainly will remember.
    My problem?
Getting over the fact that 53% of the voting populace was stupid enough to vote this evil man and his band of Chicago thugs.
I’m no longer associating with some of my closest relatives…
    Irreparable damage…
    How do we heal?

  2. We the People want nothing more to believe that we can still effect change at the ballot box. That is why if there is any shennanigans, there will be major problems.

I pray there is still enough right minded people in this country to insure free and fair elections. But after the last 18 months, we have seen at the highest offices in the land that the rule of law is a fragile thing. If there is any, and I mean any fraud, attempt to nullify or steal any the elections, there is enough people who are going to state that the Republic has been hijacked, and act accordingly.

    God help us all….

  3. Due to my past work patterns, I am permanently signed up to receive an absentee ballot. If anyone has the slightest doubt they will be able to get to the polls this November, now is the time to request your ballot. To insure your vote is counted, mail it (with proper postage – more than 44 Cents) at least a week before the election. No chance of being intimidated at the polls. The accountability standards for absentee ballots is fairly high in most places. Since anyone reading this has Internet, Google Voting in ________County/City/Parish,_________-State.

  4. This quite possibly could be the last election for some time. I don’t believe for a minute that the Obama administration nor his minions wouldn’t circumvent the system to stay in power. IF this November comes and goes with the power structure the same. Our nation is doomed.

Here’s something else to consider. Most people in this nation now live in cities. Cities are the playground of the Black panthers and SEIU. Votes are counted in cities…Voter intimidation is no longer a crime so expect that MILLIONS of votes for Democrats will be added to the count…

Our last hope is GOOD Conservative candidates, GOOD publicity for them, and a voter turnout that rivals the Reagan election.

  5. Greybeard: we begin to heal with the vote; I wish I were completgely confident about November. . .

Toaster: the problem with the vote, of course, as I posted just the day before, is with the ballot box itself and the lack of confidence I now have associated with the ballot box and the VERACITY and LEGALITY of those even casting ballots.

WSF: I too am permanently absentee. And excellent points.

  6. Bush: “This quite possibly could be the last election for some time. I don’t believe for a minute that the Obama administration nor his minions wouldn’t circumvent the system to stay in power.”

You said it all. I’m thinking Directive 51.

Southern Sage: true; it all comes down to this year.

    NFO: ME TOO.

To all: thanks for driving by and reading the blog, and I hope your July 4th was safe! Today, I’m not up in the mountains at my cabin (though that’s making me nervous because of the possibility that some goon will set off fireworks illegally up there), but down in the valley.

  7. Each generation seems to have it special moment, a time that comes but once in a life time, a point that will be marked forever by the history books, a time to remember. Most of these however, are lost in the muddy back waters of time and few remember what was at that time, at that special moment a turning point. Maybe, just maybe November will be that time and will be book marked forever in the history of this nation, I just don’t know. Complacency may rule the day and things continue in a downward spiral or that tipping point may be reached and once again Americans will show their true colors.

  8. Approximately 51% of the voting eligible population showed up at the polls.

    Obama won 52% of that.

    Thus 52% of 51% is 26.5%.

That is the actual percentage of voting aged Americans that voted for Obama: 26.5%.

If even 10% of the 49% who didn’t vote showed up at the polls against Obama, it would have been a rout in the other direction. That is less than 5% of the voting age population.

That must be the target – getting those who did not vote to vote and to vote with their pocketbook. Rich and poor alike shall be impoverished by an America fallen, and when prosperity cannot be had we shall go hungry not just for liberty but for food, as well.

We are near the time of a truly silent majority… the silent majority of non-voters. That will get you tyranny and we see this trend starkly today. If you have friends that don’t vote, talk to them and encourage them TO vote as their responsibility to themselves, to each other and to YOU. The loss of civil input into our system is destroying the system, itself, as it is the lack of faith in the system that engenders that destruction.

That is the single, hardest thing to do with those already distrustful and disdainful of a system that they are willing to subject themselves to: they have become subjects in their own mind to become the object of playthings for the elite. They have cashed out their citizenship via not voting.

Those votes do matter, in their millions.

We dare not consign all of America for the love of tyranny of 26.5% of it. And much of that 26.5% was lied to and know it. Those who have been betrayed must also express their anger at the ballot box.

Put faith in your fellow citizen, your fellow man, and ask him or her for help in saving us all. Otherwise it will be as it was at the Revolution: 15% loyalist, 15% revolutionary, 70% uninterested… and within a year no uninterested left and after 8 years 25% fled, 10% dead and the rest impoverished but free.

  9. God help us if we don’t.

And please, while you’re at it, God, stop the Republicans from self-destructing and let them return to their Reagan base…

  10. Ron, I can only hope this IS “our time,” that this WILL be the pivot point. . .

AJ: so well written, thank you.

cj: November will be the tipping point and the ultimate indicator. If things don’t turn around at the ballot box then, as AJ says, most persons have shifting into Disinterested Mode and are RIPE for subjugation and tyranny. BY their government.
