New to the “Usual Suspects” List

I have been clearly lacking in this area, with a rearrangement of and additions to my “Usual Suspects” list.

Some have diminished their posting; some have come to the forefront. They find themselves moved accordingly. I, and others, like blogs that publish at least daily.

As opposed to other blogs that make infinite links, those in my “Usual Suspects” list have to be those to which I personally read and/or approve, or concur in core belief.

NEW TO THE B.Z. “USUAL SUSPECTS” LIST:

For those who may not be aware, I am a current law enforcement officer for a major Fornicalia agency, though I have worked, in the past, for the FBI and the U.S. Marshals. Wyatt Earp, a detective for the Philadelphia PD (with over 10,000 profile hits!), has an amazingly-perspicacious blog that simply resonates with me on any number of levels — for obvious reasons. You want a concise opinion on east coast conservative core politics and issues? You couldn’t do better than the Gunfighter’s blog! E-mail him here: philly_lawman@yahoo.com. Also, I might like to add my congratulations to Wyatt Earp for his third year Bloggiversary! For this anniversary he’s changed over to WordPress from Blogspot — seems like a trend, that! Well done sir, a beautiful new blog layout I say, and welcome to the BZ Usual Suspects blogroll!

The blog that’s run by a former USAF man (BTW, nice C-17 in BG) whose credo is:

“A liberal once said that those who work for the American War Machine should be shamed by calling them “violence workers.” I’ve worked for the War Machine most of my adult life.”

In his “about” section VW writes: “I’m a 20 Year Veteran of the USAF and now, I work for a major defense contractor. I’m originally from Pontiac, Michigan and I now reside in Tacoma, WA. I’m married to the greatest and most wonderful woman in the world. Between us, we have 8 children and 6 grandaughters. I’m not a racist. I don’t hate old people and children. Don’t even try to suggest differently.”

In his Violence Worker Manifesto he writes (in part):

– I believe in the shining city on the hill. I’m a Reagan
Republican.
– I believe in not asking what my country can do for me, but what
can I do for my country. I’m a JFK Democrat.
– I believe in the power of the individual. I believe that it is individuals that make a society great, not society that makes great individuals.
– I believe that victim-hood robs a person and people of greatness. I believe that a person or a people who rise up from and conquer victim-hood are truly great.

From his masthead: “We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” James Madison
Gawfer, an industrial construction manager from Southern California, lists his interests as God, family, country, politics and golf. He is also, as am I, a contributor to Absolute Zero, the anti-paedophile blog of blogs!

Please visit Gawfer, ladies and gentlemen!

“Conservative by nature, Christian by choice.”
Cary Cartter (yes, you’d best believe it, two “T”s) describes himself as: “Marine ’80 – ’84, currently woodworker. If I had served longer, I would have missed out on what I have now. Christian. Conservative. Married, to TMBWitW, and we have the cutest daughter ever, MEG.”
And if you haven’t guessed, TMBWitW is: “the most beautiful woman in the world” — scoring, clearly, some serious Wife points!
It should also be noted that he has a show on Blog Talk Radio the likes of which, naturally, you must listen!

Formerly known as “Fetching Jen,” Katy Grimes is the real name of a columnist for The Sacramento Union, a publication once possessing the esteemed Mark Twain as a columnist as well. Her son is just about to graduate his first year at the United States Naval Academy – he’s currently a Plebe. She describes herself:

A columnist for The Sacramento Union, Katy Grimes is a modish, only semi-hip, conservative woman of today’s world. Katy semi-politely rants about politics, people, the liberal conundrum, today’s culture, personal responsibility and goodness, all mixed into the fray. Why be upright, respectable, pure and decent, and Conservative? Katy will tell you. Return to common sense.

If you want to know what’s happening in terms of Fornicalia and Sacratomato politics, Katy Grimes is not to be missed!

Please be sure to visit my Usual Suspects frequently! Excelsior!

  1. BZ, Thanks for the post! Coming from a megga blogger such as yourself, I am truly honored.

I just returned from a business trip to Houston a few minutes ago, and found your comments on Gawfer.

    Thanks again, mate.

  2. Great blogs one and all, but I’d be a bit careful of this Gawfer guy, he was NAVY you know…

    The Navy Invented Sex….

A Marine and a sailor were sitting in a bar one day arguing over which was the superior service.

After a swig of beer the Marine says, ‘Well, we had Iwo Jima.’

Arching his eyebrows, the sailor replies, ‘We had the Battle of Midway.’

‘Not entirely true’, responded the Marine. ‘Some of those pilots were Marines, in fact, Henderson Field on Guadalcanal was named after a Marine pilot killed at the Battle of Midway.’

    The sailor responds, ‘Point taken.’

The Marine then says, ‘We Marines were born at Tunn Tavern!’

The sailor, nodding agreement, says, ‘But we had John Paul Jones.’

The argument continued until the sailor comes up with what he thinks will end the discussion. With a flourish of finality he says…… ‘The Navy invented sex!’

The Marine replies, ‘That is true, but it was the Marines who introduced it to women.’

  3. Thank you for the mention! One correction: I’m not a pilot. With my lack of depth perception, they wouldn’t let me anywhere near a cockpit.

I’ll do a suitable recip tomorrow, but again, my humble thanks!!!!

    VW

  4. Gawfer: I’d tell ya a Marine joke later. . .

TF: I know, but NOBODY works and sweats like the USAF, don’t ya know!

VW: Ooops! SORRY! Changing right now! Thanks!

    BWH: he certainly IS!

    BZ

  5. Thanks, I’m a retired NCO. I was a mechanic and these days, I work for the Boeing Company in the C-17 program as a specialized equipmemnt technician out at McChord AFB. For a trash hauler, she’s a pretty bird!

  6. VW: I think the C-17 is one of the most beautiful birds I see. Where I work, as the supervisor for a major law enforcement driver training unit working on the decommissioned Mather AFB east of Sacramento, I still see some incredible air work. The TR-1 peeps from Beale shoot an occasional unit past us, their pilots still run their blacked-out T-38s over Mather to keep up their hours, I’ve had Fulton Recovery System 130s fly by, Navy 135 variants, one final Habu some years ago, a MiG-15, a MiG-29, the attack of the C-5 people shooting tough-and-gos from Travis, and an actual Antonov AN-225.

And, trust me, so much more.

  7. BZ – Thank you, from the bottom of my humble little heart, for the mention.

I do try to post daily, that isn’t always possible, but I do make an effort.

Between The O Word, TMBWitW, MEG, the business, church activities, and other various and sundry activities, I do what I can.
