From GatewayPundit.com (and not InfoWars):
This is getting a little creepy.
According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.
DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP).
What is an MRAP vehicle? It would be this:
It is, essentially — at 14+ tons — a tank on wheels. And a very far cry from the standard LE Lenco BearCat which is popular with law enforcement agencies across the nation regarding SWAT and other specialized applications/units. See the Lenco BearCat, at 8.5 tons.
I’d say there was an — ahem — massive difference between the two vehicles.
Perhaps time to submit a video here:
That seen, though I have been accused of being something of a tinfoil-hat-wearer, I would submit today’s Tom Sullivan show for comparison. He asked on Monday:
IS THE US GOVERNMENT BUILDING A DOMESTIC ARMY? THE TOP OF THE STACK FOR MARCH 4TH, 2013
1) According to a report, The Department Of Homeland Security has purchased 2,700 light-armored tanks, 1.6 billion bullets.
This isn’t the hated or disgusted InfoWars; it’s something of a mainstream Conservative reporter wondering what is happening.
You’d have to be brain-dead to think there isn’t some purposeful activity occurring within the continental United States — and it doesn’t have anything to do with the adherence to the Bill of Rights of the Constitution — but instead with the abrogation thereof.
I wrote, earlier, about the issues here:
1. Fox News: the DHS purchase of 1 billion+ rounds of ammunition is no big deal
2. DHS Purchases 21.6 Million More Rounds of Ammunition — WHY?
4. Department of Homeland Security gears up for “civil unrest” come November:
5. DHS Informant: US government preparing for massive civil strife
Many of my federal contacts are surprisingly short of comment. With one or two exceptions. But mostly they are silent. It is somewhat unlike them.
But I would posit a few questions that I’ve no doubt asked before:
Why so many rounds?
Why so many vehicles?
Why so militarily-oriented?
Why no explanation?
Frankly, I simply don’t hear any answers to these questions. Nor do I hear the questions asked in any kind of a public forum.
I’ll ask these questions and answer them in a future post, using logic, common sense, rationality, proportion and history.

P.S.
Finally, let’s divide this purchase. 2,700 vehicles parsed amongst 50 states = 54 MRAP vehicles per state.
Look for them to be distributed and parked either in LE agency lots or in NG lots.
Beyond creepy!
Wake the hell up, Americans! Destruction is upon us!
The government is arming itself domestically.
Why do you think that is?
BZ
Obama wants his private domestic army. Looks like he is building it under our noses.
As he learned from the Chicago troll, “Never let a good crisis go to waste”. What better crisis than mass riots to facilitate President Obama for Life?
Oops! Got to find my tinfoil hat.
Obama said so, literally, in 2008. He said civilian police forces should be armed in a like fashion as the military.
Apparently we aren’t taking him at his word.
BZ
Obama wants a Civil War.
This is in accordance with his socialist manifesto.
Yes, this is another “step” toward the total destruction of our beloved USA.
You better get yourself ready now.
The video narrated by the Tactical Supervisor for DHS is quite disturbing. They need such a vehicle to issue warrants? OUCH! He talks of “entry into the house”…who’s house and why? Is this just dealing with dangerous illegals (many of whom we just released) or is it to come to pass that this vehicle and it’s operators are going to come to your house and mine for whatever purpose they deem necessary?
It looks like he will follow whatever orders he is given as he stated his unit is part of a national response team and will assist other teams for “whatever they have pending”. This means he will follow orders to do whatever his superiors demand in dealing with the likes of any American for whatever reason. Paranoid thinking? Maybe…but then again, maybe not as we don’t need a fleet of such vehicles to serve warrants. One thing we had all better understand is that if it ever comes down to mandatory gun confiscation here on a national level it will be a team such as this knocking on your door (breaking down) and not you friendly local cop.
Blogs linking to blogs linking to blogs and so forth and so on ad infinitum….
I see. So it’s not happening.
BZ
Have you SEEN these vehicles? In your position and location I would think that you would be the 1st beneficiary of such… No one else that I know in Law Enforcement has made a statement about it, only a few blogs that are cross-linking each other and stirring a boiling pot…
This is new. But trust me: I will BE on the lookout for the MRAPs that could be delivered to my agency.
If I can score the photos, I surely will.
BZ
Does your agency actually need one or more of these?
Back in December 15, 2013 I saw a “convoy of these EXACT Vehicles being hauled on flatbed trucks on Interstate 10 heading East outside of El Paso,TX.
I passed them, they passed me when I pulled in for gas.
I studied them. Exactly the same.
Big and heavy wheeled tanks.
I wonder if they off-loaded them in Houston?
Back in December 15, 2012,,,,
Photos.

They do work against mines. My son was in one that drove over a Soviet Era mine. Blew the hood off and shredded three tires. All inside were fine except for getting their bell rung (and no John Kerry Purple Hearts).
Think someone in DHS might be reading the blogs and getting nervous?
