Obama: Spending $1.2 BILLION On Cycling & Walking Initiatives

Once again, the truth from non-American media (this time, the UK Telegraph):

Spending on biking and walking projects rose from less than $600 million (£407 million) in 2008, according to the Federal Highway Administraion. Twenty years ago, the federal government was spending only $6 million a year on such projects.

Just as, I suppose, California wants to ban aluminum baseball bats. San Francisco and California want to ban plastic bags. SF wants radiation alerts on cell phones.

Your thoughts?

  1. Yes…Life would be sweet if all the leftist socialists moved to Cuba and lived their dream, but unfortunately they want to stay here.

The erosion of our country always points back to liberal ideology which is ‘feeling’ oriented, and making policy decisions based on feelings is disastrous.

Look at the Freddie and Fannie mess among many other messes. Get poor people in houses regardless of the consequences.. They purposefully lied about CO2 causing global warming to appeal to our emotions and of course we went for it and look where we are now.

I think Obama allowed the oil to wash up on shore in order to incite ’emotions’ so that we will back cap and tax. It is the Liberal way and it is SICK.

  2. My thoughts?

This administration and its leftista adherents are so busy worrying about BS that they’re missing out on doing their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution.

Also, in my view, the biking and walking projects are pandering for young votes. I don’t have any use right now for biking and walking paths, but I’m sure that I’ll be paying for them anyway.

  3. boy, I wonder why Obama can’t spend that money promoting people getting off of welfare, instead of this crap? Plastic bags, aluminum bats, carbon…carbon? Every living thing on earth is primarily made from carbon. People need to understand that humans are consumers. We can’t stop consumption, only slow it down a little. So that means eventually, our resources will dry up. These hippies need to stop smelling like incense and tofu and get a grip.

  4. There’s a lot of stupid regulations out there, but I agree with S.F. on the cell phones. Cell phone emit radiation at frequencies that can harm tissue. People, and lot of them are children and teenagers, hold these devices against their head for hours every week.

This is going to result in a spike in ear, salivary, and brain tumors in the coming years that makes the whole history of the tobacco industry look friendly by comparison.

  5. BZ,
Spending, spending and more spending. This group doesn’t have a plan to do anything but spend their way to prosperity. That’ll work.

Whenever I’m a little short, my first reaction is to go buy something I don’t need, knowing that somehow that will make my situation better. What is it that these guys don’t get?

  6. California seems to have more than its share of idiots… but it can keep them.

As for the waste of money… *sigh*. I don’t know what else to say anymore.

  7. Try that walking and bicycling in places like Buffalo in the winter and see what it gets you.

In theory he lived in Chicago and should know better, but this President is just plain clueless with his limousine exhortations and flat tire bicycling. We have much better things to do with $1.2 billion… like not spending it. The country is going insolvent at the National level and such frivolities cannot be afforded any longer.

  8. have you seen the one about the 1.25million squirrel bridges they’re building in arizona to protect the displaced squirrels from continuing to become roadkill?

  9. Time to pull out the Christians from California and blow them up until they float into oblivion….just a thought.

I don’t even know what to think anymore about the idiocy that comes out of California, it has to be something in the water. They have lost their ability to think rationally.

  10. You really don’t want my overall thoughts regarding Cali and S.F. in particular…

If it weren’t for a few friends like you and Bushwack, I wouldn’t care if the whole damned place fell off in the ocean…

  11. TF: put enough illegal immigrants here, and like Demorat moron Hank Johnson of Georgia, who mentioned Guam, Fornicalia may just tip over and capsize. . .

    ;^)
