Right Cross

WASHINGTON, Oct 2 (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama‘s politically risky Olympics gamble failed to bring home the gold on Friday, with the Olympics committee’s refusal to grant the 2016 Summer Games to his hometown Chicago.

With all of this Das Hopenchange, it was my learned opinion that Mr Obama was going to portray America in such a light that she would be loved and massively admired instead of hated as was the prior administration. So, the Olympics being awarded to Rio de Janeiro? How could that possibly have occurred? Chicago newscasters are in tearstears, I tell you.

What? Do I mean to say that — dare I suggest! — Mr Obama has not been singlehandedly responsible for the rest of the entire planet seething with joy and runneling with drool at the thought of catering to the United States?

I thought there was going to be change. We were promised Change!

  1. I’m disappointed. i live four hours away and would love to see the Olympics.
I really don’t see how this is a political issue on a national level. Internationally, maybe, but making it a Republican/Democrat thing is ridiculous. I doubt that Chitown would have done any better if McCain was prez.
I guess there is just a certain segment in the blogsphere that will just attack Obama no matter what. If he ended the wars, balanced the budget, achieved world peace, and removed our dependence on foriegn oil, whould you STILL be against him? How about if he became a Republican? The last one, is not too far fetched as he is just continuing the good work of Bush.

  2. Oh no Tim, you’re not a libber, your a pragmatist…

    UhHuh… And I’m the tooth fairy…

If Obama were able to DO all of that stuff, he would be a Conservative, NOT a Republican… And the more you post, the easier it is to see, BZ had you nailed right from the start…

  3. BZ,
BO messed up this time. He played his hole card and it was trumped by the Europeans. Personality is a big deal, but it doesn’t trump ideology. The Europeans are all ideology and BO just felt the slap of the guy who trys to go too far. Get away, scumbag.

  4. Righty’s who cheer Obama’s ‘failure’ show their lack of true patriotism plain and simple. They are truly disgusting.

  5. RacistFred, you really must have nothing better to do than pick fights on the net. A pity. I sure hope my retirement is not as empty as yours. You want to call me a lib, go ahead. Silly labels don’t bother me.
I am actually getting a kick out of how angry you are over the current White House occupant. In fact everytime I read your comments I laugh at you that much more. An angry man living an empty life. I guess I must be getting cruel in my old age enjoying your supreme discomfort that Texas has gotten back their villiage idiot. It’s really comical. Have a nice day and tell W I said hello as you wipe his man gravy off of your chin.

  6. Tim,

Have you ever thought that Mr. Obama’s policy’s are looking to make Fred’s retirement somewhat less enjoyable?

Have you ever considered that this nation might not have a spare $15+ Billion to spend on the Olympics for your pleasure??

And last of all, and I know, I am falling for the bait, but calling people who disagree with you a racist, well, that just proves you are one last step away from calling “Lier lier, pants on fire”, ’cause you can’t come up with an intelligent argument for why socialism, has never produced the Utopian society so lusted after, and has often caused many endemic problems.

If the great society is so good, please explain:

“The actual consequences of Johnson’s Great Society were disastrous for blacks, discouraging initiative, encouraging a sense of entitlement and victimhood, and creating a permanent dependency class. Until 1965, 82% of black households had both a mother and a father in the home — a statistic on par with or even slightly higher than white families. After 1965 (the year the Democrats and President Johnson decided it was time to stop oppressing blacks and start “helping” them), the presence of black fathers in the home began a precipitous decline; today, the American black out-of-wedlock birthrate is at 69%.”

  7. I’m sure if I spent my time trying to find all that’s bad with America, I too could come up with a few things. I just don’t have the time or the negativty running through my blood.

I’m sorry that the USA didn’t get the games but I’m more than happy to see them go to Rio, one of my favorite places, good people, good food and good times.

  8. Lone Rider- In a comment to a previous post at this blog RacistFred called our president “The son of a buck loving bitch”. That is pretty clear proof in my book. You all like to “call em out” so I did.
In another post, RacistFred bragged about how he had recouped most of his stock losses and “Obama proofed” his portfolio.
    Strike two lone Rider.
LBJ’s Great society, agree or disagree, has nothing to do with the 2016 Olympics. Taking the arguement anywhere that you need to go in an attempt to win it and strike three, yer outta here!

  9. “IT’S NOT POLITICS?”
I wish you were right, Tim, but did you hear the end of that video? They’re so surprised because OBAMA IS SO POPULAR…and they actually think he’s popular all over the world(not)…so popular that he SHOULD have persuaded the IOC?..they even say that “2002 wasn’t chosen because the world didn’t approve of the Iraq war..” ???

Tim…you think THAT isn’t the leftist journalists shocked that THEIR OBAMA didn’t WIN on his personality?
Olympics are as CROOKED as you can get, from what people say, but to have American journalists suggest that the popularity of the head of any country SHOULD HAVE had them choose that country (us?) is pretty political to me.

I honestly believe the SHOCK there and at CNN (See the other video next to the one BZ linked) portrays the journalists amazement that the States weren’t chosen because “who could go against Obama?~!”

  10. The IOC only needed to look at the violence on Chicago streets and the beaches of Rio to make their decision. Mind you, if they looked at the street violence in Rio and the beaches of Chicago, they would end up with the same result.

Snarkiness aside, getting the Olympics is the headache of the city and States they are involved in and a chance for Mayors and Governors to shine. It shows their ability to cross-network to get all the venues going, as they have problems doing them all in any single city. Who has a Velodrome to spare? The multiple, specialized venues of the Olympics pretty much require civic cohesion and a demonstrated ability to do large projects and cooperate with other cities and States inside the US. Los Angeles and Atlanta come to mind, but even Winter Olympics, like Salt Lake City, require depending on multiple places to actually hold the events that are not inside the city limits.

The President gave a poor presentation and his backing, without demonstrated ability to run something other than a campaign, was a net negative, not a positive. The IOC requires performance and demonstration that you can handle such a large event. St. Patties Day Parades don’t come close to matching Rio’s Mardi Gras, which is huge in comparison and an annual event. They know how to handle large crowds (not well, maybe, but still handle them). Plus they can hire cruise ships for a couple of months to serve as floating hotels… the Olympic Cruise to Rio with tickets including various venues with guaranteed tickets for pre-purchase can make Rio possible. The other entrants to get the Olypics are likewise used to handling large events.

I have nothing against Chicago, as a city as I grew up on the outskirts of an even more woebegone rust belt city with worse weather. Chicago is no Olypic venue without major cooperation, and pulling in the President is not a demonstration of competence. It would have been nice to have the Olympics in the US… but then it would be nice to have competence in running Chicago and working with other towns and cities, too. To get the former, you need the latter.

  11. Tim: had our Mr Obama not made such grandiose claims perhaps more persons would have considered a tad bit of slack-cutting. However, these are the things upon which he was elected. It proves the point I’ve made any number of times: the view of the US, globally, by any number of nations, isn’t necessarily predicated upon the American perception of which President will smoothe relations; it’s predicated upon many nations’ despiction of our strength, our resolution, our — for lack of a phrase — e pluribus unum.

So many people believed we would be globally loved once Mr Obama acquired office. This simply proves: I’m sorry, it just isn’t that simple.

Further, Mr Obama wants to enable bills with which I refuse to abide. I pay ENOUGH taxes already. I’m DONE. Therefore, my voice is going to be heard and I am going to express my displeasure in any manner I so choose. We need to STOP spending. Just STOP. Mr Bush was bad enough. Mr Obama is exponentially worse.

  12. “had our Mr Obama not made such grandiose claims perhaps more persons would have considered a tad bit of slack-cutting. However, these are the things upon which he was elected.”

    Totally agree, BZ

“Further, Mr Obama wants to enable bills with which I refuse to abide. I pay ENOUGH taxes already. I’m DONE.”

This point is more open to debate, but I respect your point of view.

Z- With all due respect, a bunch of blathering talking heads, whether they be from CNN or FNC are hardly worth being taken seriously.

Aj- Though your comment was a bit long I concured with most of the salient points. I must complement you for communicating on a higher plain.

  13. Tim said…
RacistFred, you really must have nothing better to do than pick fights on the net.
    *******************
RacistFred?? Because I said Obama was BITCH SLAPPED?? LMFAO… Yeah, you really ARE a libberpuke, THAT Tim, is THE tell for a libber, YOU threw the RACE CARD…

You aren’t bothered by labels? YOU LIE, just like your heart throb Obama… Lies, that’s ALL you have Timmy…

And the *man gravy* thing Tim?? BZ probably will let it stand, he has no regard for decorum in his blog, but I have to say, that is THE typical libber trash that we expect from people like you…

    Priceless…

And Tim, I did call Obama the son of a buck loving bitch, at least I didn’t call him a nigger… And I didn’t make comments about *man gravy*…

You basically ARE a retard Tim, if you had ANY reading comprehension at all, you would know, I detest Bush, I thought him a failure of the 1st order, it’s just that your BOY Obama makes him look pretty damned good in comparison…

    Man gravy… LMAO… You are SO sad… LMFAO @ you Tim…

  14. And Tim, it’s not name calling when you call me a racist, call me a racist if you like, I AM a racist, and I make no claims to the contrary…

I detest trash of ALL ilks and races, be it Black, white, brown or red… And I abhor libbers even more, regardless their ethnicity..

I have called him ‘the son of a buck loving bitch’, and that is the truth, but Obama himself isn’t responsible for his mother being the lowly trash that she was, in this instance, Obama was the victim of a classless mother and her lack of pride and sexual mores…

His libber raising and libber leadership only intensifies the hatred that many, including me, have for this son of a buck loving BITCH…

Now, excuse me, I have to go wash my sheets… I know that’s your next accusation, and God knows, I don’t want to look bad in blood stained sheets… 🙂

  15. Well, I really have nothing to add to Fred’s comments. He proved my point better than I ever could with his own words. I laugh in your face Fred. Talking about decorum when you talk about the President like that. Like I said, your silly name calling proves that the real ‘tard here is you.
“blood stained sheets”? Forget the vasiline?

  16. Mr. Z – When I point out that the President has no demonstrated capability and he then flubs something that should have been handled by others, then all that can be derived is he has no experience and thinks like a micromanager. And not a good micromanager at that.

Now he has demonstrated incompetence, not just lack of demonstrated competence, and I do not say that as being hateful but as a statement of fact. After NOT addressing the Iranian situation in front of the UN when he had the documents with him, and the UK and France urged him too, so as to bring Iran to the world’s attention, then I must gather that he places his beliefs ahead of our allies needs and the Nation’s safety. You cannot stuff the nuclear genie back into the bottle as it is physics and engineering solely, now, and not even theoretical physics but plain old nuclear physics. When you place a pipe dream ahead of your own safety and that of your allies, you are demonstrating hubris and a lack of understanding of how the world works. The Olympics fiasco just underlines that, now.

I do not trust incompetents who live by a fantasy ideology. It does not matter where they are in life, be they people where I went to university or coworkers or family members: they do not have my trust. One standard applied to all, low and high, no exceptions.

And because of where President Obama resides, we are all at risk from his fantasies over-riding what happens in the actual world. Now that world is starting to bite back, and he will have the choice between excuses, finger pointing and blaming others, or taking blame to himself and asking just why the world does not work in the way he believes it does. I hear excuses, ad nauseum, from his supporters, but they never do explain the man’s actions. By his actions I judge him, and no sweet words, no nice intent, nothing over-rides that. Versailles and Munich demonstrate just how lethal that sort of thinking can be on the large scale: one did not end a war but postponed outcomes, and the other encouraged a tyrant to feast upon the weak. Those heads of State lived in a fantasy and did not address the actual world and the world paid dearly for that.

The storm is here, and we are still at the fringes of it, but the ill winds do blow and are blowing harder by the day. How many died because of Wilson and Chamberlain? Millions even tens of millions globally, and their ill works still echo to this day. Unwilling to learn from history, we now see it coming back again, thanks to glad-handing, smiling, good-willed, incompetence backed by a fantasy of thinking that such gets repaid, in-kind, by despots and dictators. It doesn’t work that way: they do not shower you in kisses but in blood.

  17. Tim, I hate to make accusations, but your continued references to homosexuality begs the question.. Are you a faggot Tim?

You refer to *man gravy*, you imply some sexual reference to *bloody sheets*, it’s from SPLATTER Tim, you idiot… And it was a joke at YOUR expense…

But seriously, do you slurp goobers Tim? Sine YOU are the one that can’t leave the topic alone, maybe you’re just horny, ya know??

Is that subscription to NAMBLA running out on you Tim?

LMAO… ‘tard? It RETARD Tim, and I am done here, you have been exposed as a libber AND a pecker smacker…

And if you think I’m a racist, you have no idea the depth of my bigotry concerning pervs and pecker smackers…

I can’t make up my mind, is it the tights Tim? Do they arouse that *jungle fever* in you? Or are you just a flaming queer? And remember Tim, YOU brought up all the QUEER stuff… You Tim…

  18. Tim, don’t worry about TexasFred. Check out his web site. He’s an old dumbfuck. Once these dinosaurs are dead and gone this country can finally move forward.
