Rush Limbaugh, The NFL Racist:

Not.

Bring the documentation. List the websites. Cite the YouTube videos. Give me the MP3 files.

Bring them. Give them.

Because?

They simply don’t exist.

If they existed, they would have been used against Rush Limbaugh the MICROSECOND they existed in the digital ether.

Rush and I both worked for the KFBK radio station in Sacramento during different years; me before him in the late 1970s. I met him briefly. He’ll not remember me. But he set the pace with regard to Conservative radio and — talk radio in general. A massive precedent was set in 1988. He sensed a vacuum and filled it. Every dollar he garnered from this he deserves. Because it was his idea.

And now? Rush Limbaugh with his millions of dollars isn’t “good enough” to co-own an NFL team?

What garbage!

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said:

I’ve said many times before we’re all held to a high standard here, and I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about,” Goodell said at an NFL owners’ meeting. “I would not want to see those comments coming from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL, absolutely not.”

Produce your statements. Produce your evidence. Roger Goodell is a reverse racist himself, an appeaser, a caver, and will end up reducing NFL revenues. If he thinks I’ll ever purchase another NFL product again, he is sorely mistaken. And I have more purchasing power now than at any other time in my life.

I am SO tired of this racist crap:

The Rev. Al Sharpton reportedly sent a letter to Goodell on Monday urging the NFL to reject Limbaugh’s ownership bid. Jesse Jackson also expressed public opposition to Limbaugh’s bid.

Oh. So, fine. The Black Racist Pimps weigh in.

That makes everything okay.

From RightPundits.com:

What’s the old saying, those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones? A maxim that Rev. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would do well to live by; Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton have sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell imploring him not to allow Rush Limbaugh to purchase the St. Louis Rams. In the letter, Sharpton asked for a meeting to explain the “myriad” of reasons why Limbaugh should not be allowed to own an NFL team.

And how about what who alleges and when?

Any verification? Any truth? Any backup sources?

From 2003, Limbaugh had the temerity to provide an opinion about Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb. He didn’t say anything more than what hundreds of thousands of people were already thinking:

Sorry to say this, I don’t think he’s been that good from the get-go,” Limbaugh said. “I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”

Horror of horrors!

But apparently, when it’s Rush Limbaugh, anyone can say anything about him. And not have to source their statements or provide any amount of proof. From the Culture & Media Institute:

One of the most damaging accusations you can level at opponent is call that individual a racist in one form or another. And that’s the tactic MSNBC and others left-wing opponents of Rush Limbaugh are taking to thwart his bid to purchase the St. Louis Rams.

During a segment on MSNBC on Oct. 13, former Pulitzer Prize winner Karen Hunter appeared to voice her opposition to the Limbaugh’s NFL bid. She made one of the most outrageous – likening Limbaugh’s ownership of an NFL team to being a plantation owner, a metaphor that invokes the image of antebellum South during the 19th Century, when slavery was rampant.

An educator, a darker-hued female making statements like this about Rush Limbaugh? A professor, an author, winner of a Pulitzer Prize, a learned scholar? She, of all persons, a professional journalist, would only be making quotes or allegations but only based upon iron-clad facts, yes?

Karen Hunter said:

I can just see the visions of plantation grandeur dancing in his head as we speak,” Hunter said. “Yeah, it doesn’t make you a racist to want to own a team. But, it does kind of with all his history question his power position over these players who make millions of dollars and his ability to be able to move them around, deny them contracts and do whatever he wants willy-nilly. It’s the ultimate power position to be an owner of an NFL team.”

So: Al Davis, owner of the Oakland Raiders, in the “ultimate power position”? Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys, in the “ultimate power position”? Or the City of Green Bay, in the “ultimate power position”? All mostly Horrible White Folks, involved in business, doing nothing but “keeping the black man down”? And, oh, yeah, the NFL is comprised of 65% blacks or mixed race. And a good business owner, whose job is to have his business make an actual profit, wishes to have 65% of his employees fail in the job they’re tasked to accomplish? And spend millions and millions of dollars to enable this failure?

Again, this is insanity. But wait, there’s more from Karen Hunter. She further says:

The words you even put up – two of the statements that he said about the NFL looking like the crypts (sic) and the blood (sic),” Hunter said. “He even said that Dr. Martin Luther King, his killer, James Earl Ray should have a medal given to him, a medal of honor. He says, ‘We miss you, James.’ You can go online as to the top 10 Rush Limbaugh racist comments.”

These are just lies. Unsubstantiated, racist LIES, from unsubstantiated sources. Plied by agendist “journalists” who don’t know the first thing about legitimate journalism.

And by “journalists” who don’t, again, know the first thing about conducting interviews or refuting bald statements made by melanin-enhanced individuals. Because that would be — ooooooo — “touchy“. . .

Rush Limbaugh wakes up in the morning with a target painted on his forehead. He goes to sleep with a target painted on his forehead. He has had each and every word he’s spoken, for years, immured either on tape or video or on hard drive.

If he’d said a fraction of the things alleged, there would be YouTube videos and MP3 files rampant around the internet. On every liberal website. For days and days and weeks. The internet would have been RIFE with these videos and files quite some time ago — had they been TRUE.

Rush is what the Left would term a “target-rich environment.”

So.

PRODUCE the videos where Rush makes the James Earl Ray quote. For God’s sake, this is so fundamentally simple. Rush himself streams video and audio for EVERY show.

  1. Rush continues to be the punching-bag for the left and the constant charges of racism are their favorite weapon. Like you I’m sick of it. The true meaning of racism is quickly losing its meaning. Haven’t been around for a while came via Freds Place. Known there as the Silver Fox, but everywhere else by Ron.

  2. One positive note for Mr Limbaugh from all this. He gets TO SAVE HIS MONEY from the drainhole that is the NFL.

    B Woodman
    III-per

  3. Of course, the “Higher Standard” the NFL includes rapists, wife-beaters and people who arrange illegal dog-fights. Heaven FORBID!, however, that we would allow a CONSERVATIVE in our “inner circle.”

ZING! That’s a touchdown if ever there was one…

  5. I love reading the lefty blog that are blasting Glenn Beck these days.. Only because they make me laugh so hard.

It’s time for these people grow up . Both Rush and Glenn Beck are the highest rated shows on radio and TV, all of their books are best sellers, and he packs auditoriums. They aren’t going anywhere. If you don’t like them, don’t watch them.

I’ve been a listener for years, and have watched both their tv shows on occasion. Glenn was only Public Enemy #1 for leftist partisans when he moved to Fox, but for years none of you even knew who he was until he exposed Van Jones for what he really is.

Does anyone remember the vile names and pictures directed at G.W. Bush by leading Democrats, virulent left-wing groups and internet sites, and much of the mainstream media for the last (8) years? Well I guess what goes around comes around. Suck it up, if you hate them so much as you seem to, don’t listen to them.

  6. Ron: thanks for visiting and thanks for the comment. Crying wolf so many time invalidates an actual event when it does occur.

Miss TC: as TF said, you NAILED that one!

LTM: thanks for visiting as well, and thank you for taking the time to comment. You’re correct; Glenn Beck had a radio show for quite some time but, with his TV show on Fox, he’s really taken off — but also because of his appearances on O’Reilly as well.

  7. 1. I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

    2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

    3. Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

    4. Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.

    5. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

    6. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.

    7. They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?

Decent human beings care Rush. Someone out of that 12% is the President of the United States. Not caring about black people? Even George Bush wouldn’t admit to that.

    8. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

    9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.

    10. Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.

  8. He is a Capitalist which in the puny minds of some leftists means that he is racist, sexist and all other such as ists. If he wasn’t a racist etc. he’d be an enlightened socialist. Name calling is the best way to silence solid debate.

  9. Rush is certainly a bigot. Those comments by Anon ARE things that he has said on the radio. He did a real axe job on Detroit last week. He just says liberals because the FCC would yank his show if he said what he’d really like to. Niggers. It really IS about hating somebody who has different color skin, politcal beliefs or religious beliefs with him. Beck is just a copy catter. He saw a money maker tried it out for size and made money at it too. I don’t listen to either one. They are only in it to make money and probably don’t believe a word that they say.

  10. Linkies to the comments as he said them, please.

The Donovan McNabb one you can find:

‘The comments referenced by Limbaugh came during Sunday’s pregame show when the conservative talk show host offered the opinion that McNabb wasn’t as good as the media perceived him to be.

“I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well,” Limbaugh said. “There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”‘

That is the infamous ‘McNabb’ comment referenced by the top guy in the NFL. Now direct linkies to the others, please, with full quote not something taken from someone else’s talking points but direct link to the source and direct quote.

It is what those who comment on the Left are required to do for each and every statement, so now it is time for the Left to stop asking for a free pass on these things.

Links to the actual material, not someone else’s quoting it but the real deal by the subject involved.

The actual quote, please. Not what someone else is telling you he said but the ACTUAL and REAL quote.

If you ask that of anyone you disagree with, then you had best be able to pony up to the bar and put the coin of the realm that you demand down when you say how awful someone is. Links. Quotes. Not commentary, not paraphrasing but quotes.

If you can’t do that then you have no place to criticize anyone else when they blithely criticize ANYONE as you are willing and able to take hearsay as evidence.

You, too, can do research and it isn’t easy. Don’t take someone else’s word for what they say, find out if they are telling the truth. It will disillusion you no end about those people if you dare to think and examine actual evidence that they talk about. I examined terrorism, organized crime and the politicians they influence and that has done wonders to cure my illusions about the ‘good’ that comes from those vectors in any venue, Left or Right. You can start by actually examining what is said and see if it is accurate and taken in context. And if you see that it isn’t, then you really do have to examine those people blowing smoke in your eyes.

  11. Anon – No linking to commentary. Link to the ACTUAL and REAL quotes, and if you get them from a book list page number and edition number as well as author.

The original perpetrator of many of the quotes has had those removed by the HuffPo because the individual cannot substantiate them.

I have seen the criticism of those who talk about the problems of the Left and always, without fail, there is the asking for links to the actual documents to prove the allegations. You don’t get away with linking to commentators, secondary sources and such. Nor do you get to put a snippet quote out of context of much longer material.

The Left doesn’t like that of the Right, so the shoe goes on the other foot. If you can’t do what has been asked of critics of the Left and Progressive Right have to pony up, then you have no place to complain when those you don’t like put up unsupported arguments.

Anon, you have just done that very thing.

    YOU do the research.

YOU dig out the long quotes, not a snipped and cut youtube clip.

There is a ton of stuff you can get on Limbaugh, scads of it, and presenting a 15 second sound bite out of a 10 or 20 minute segment doesn’t cut it. I do my damnedest to link to the full, original pieces so someone can see it for themselves and make their own decisions and not get pre-digested pap from others who are spouting off in an echo chamber. That is fair to the readers and viewers who can decide for themselves if what is presented is in context and accurate.

    You can do it, Anon.

I have written pieces so festooned with links that it is hard to get through them due to the material I link to. It is damned hard to read, I tell when I synopsize or paraphrase and then allow the reader to go DIRECTLY to my sources. See that link I put up? Directly to the source and quotation as verified by Limbaugh and ESPN. And if your sources are cherry-picking, snipping out of context and unable to provide the real, actual material, then you know they are blowing smoke in your eyes and YOU must dig deeper. That is why I don’t trust anyone on the partisan Left or Right that does that.

I refused the regurgitated stuff from partisans without checking it. I have been lied to by all parts of the spectrum either by ommission or commission and trust only what I can read and cross-check. I refuse the easy way out and refuse to be led by partisan hacks with an agenda.

    Can you?

  12. Anon y Tim: as AJ suggests, specific links to those comments and NOT just the one quoted by Hunter in the “Top 10 Things Said By Rush.” Let’s listen to him saying them. Let’s watch him saying them. Rush is just about the easiest person in the world to back up in terms of documentation for the reasons I mentioned in the blogpost.

AND, NOT just the “Top Ten” as AJ asks — and you so easily proffer. Some day you’ll have some actual accuracy but — probably NOT.

You must be the Average American Journalist.

Anon, BTW: if you’d care to see how REAL persons provide context, quotes, veracity, in-depth reasoning, you might peruse AJ’s site.

Clearly, Hunter and you are in the same camp: no facts. Obviously, you can have an opinion. But you clearly lack the factual evidence requested.

  13. By now everyone knows RUSH wants to buy the St. Louis Rams. As you also know the Rev. Al Sharpton went to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to nix the bid saying Rush is divisive. Al Sharpton talking about healing and unity would be like if Dave Letterman gave a seminar on sexual harassment. So today we found out that Dave Checketts, the former MSG exec and leader of the bid group that Rush belongs to kicked Rush off citing, oh I don’t know something that Rush once said on ESPN about some black quarterback. OK stop right there!!

Gotta explain something about that remark and others like it. It was a racialist comment not a racist one. It’s as if you said Jews kvetch alot when they go out to restaurants, you don’t hate Jews but the statement does have a racial component to it, even Jackie Mason uses it in his monologues alot. How many times has this happened at work? some black worker gets away with, well practically everything and someone will say that they can’t get away with the same stuff ’cause they’re white. That’s not racist, that’s racialist and sometimes they may be right.

So what is the genesis of this now ageless charge that conservatives are a bunch of racists? Is it because we generally oppose racial preferences aka affirmative action? Is it that simple?? or is it THAT and the ancillary comments like Rush made? The Willie Horton ad used by Bush Sr. against Michael Dukakis is now considered infamous but was it really? That was a legitimate campaign issue about the furlough program in Massachusetts and if people wanted to take that as code for white fear of blacks, tapping into the crime theme well so be it. Was it a racialist ad? perhaps but it’s only infamous in the minds of people like Bill Moyers and, oh hell why don’t we throw in Phil Donahue too, but the rest of the country got the real lesson about liberalism is bad for society and sent little Mikey with his army helmut packing.

A Final Word — conservative icons like Rush and now Glenn Beck in this blogger’s opinion spend way too much time responding to their critics which leads nowhere. When Hannity does it it sounds like a whine like some stray cat you just fed but he keeps on with the mournful meowing, it’s like what is that?? Ignore the criticism as in totally, wear your extremist label with pride, wallow in the fact that you make liberals miserable and only complain if they don’t spell your name right. You’ll come across as a dark figure, a kind of cultural antihero and you’ll swagger in that bar where Olbermann and Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough (he may as well be a liberal) like to hang out and you will relish every minute of it, the VIBE in the room because of your sheer presence and you’ll park it down right next to them, you’re one cool dude, don’t say ANYTHING, you have a couple of brewskies and a smoke and then leave and the ladies at the corner table sitting in the semidark will be duly impressed and intrigued by your mystery, your manly silence, the enigma of your past suffering, your very lonerhood has made you more sexy it oozes out of you and them? bunch ‘o’ pussies. Get with the existentialist edge already!

  14. Anon – You still do not do the work yourself. You still point to compendiums of other people’s say-so, their bracketing of Mr. Limbaugh’s words and what they then spin those words to think they mean.

I do Rev. Wright the honor of reading his sermons, and finding them ahistorical, laced with racist commentary and not within the teachings of any of the major modes of Christianity. I did NOT read what other people did to analyze his sermons I read them myself, on my lonesome, without commentary but with my own knowledge of history, religion, and the movements of peoples over thousands of years.

For Bill Ayers I had prior knowledge of him due to the Weathermen and knew of his connections to Cuba, Sandinistas and to FARC, beyond the group’s bombings and killings in America. Thus I have deep questions of ‘rehabilitating’ someone who shows no remorse nor repentence for his actions and question how anyone could befriend such a man.

Likewise in tracing down organized crime I run across Nadhmi Auchi, a member of the Ba’ath party, sent by Saddam to foster external banking contacts to move oil wealth around and gain contacts not just in the banking realm but criminal realm as well, as seen in the Italian ‘Clean Hands’ investigation of the Mafia. Auchi has spent time trying to cover his trail and associations with Power Corp in Canada and their ties to Saddam prior to the OFF scandal. Auchi has direct ties to Rezko and Obama, plus an unsavory man who, somehow, was able to embezzle money from Auchi to fund insurgents in Iraq. That man, Alsammarae contacted his Senator to help him out: Barack Obama.

Mind you I also read the works put out by al Qaeda, Hezbollah, HAMAS, FARC,and LeT to understand them. Can’t say I like them very much, but I do want to understand them as they see themselves.

Now find the words that I use to defend the content of Rush’s speech.

    Do I defend racist remarks?

    No.

If I can do such as Rev. Wright and Fr. Pfleger the good graces of actually reading their works to get their content, then assuredly I should be able to get the uncommented, uncut, unclipped, unexpurgated words of Rush Limbaugh from someone who evinces chaotic and unbridled hatred for the man. When you can’t provide your direct links to the actual words, and rely upon OTHERS to do that work for you then you are not thinking.

    That is unthinking hatred.

Someone is controlling your emotions to their end because you are willingly giving up control of your hatred to let them do that.

    I don’t give into hatred.

    It spoils the aim.

  15. It seems to me that all the negative vibes this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has been spewing over these many years has come back to blow back on his face (A classic “Blow Back”). He always tries to give off the airs that he can have anything he wants but as we all witness those with more money and more influence tossed him aside like sack of potatoes and the ultimate insult was that it was done in public (money don’t buy you everything butterball).

Now of course he blames everyone else (Michael J. Fox, Perez Hilton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor, Hillary Clinton, Olympia Snowe, ESPN, NFL, the media, basically people of color, the handicapped, women and gays) when of course all you have to do is listen to his show and plainly hear his daily prejudices filled sermons. So NFL, I salute you decision, job well done. And to the whaling cry baby perched on his self made pedestal, quit your whining it was your own fault. Don’t we all feel better?

  16. BZ,
I have been absent for awhile as my wife was involved in a serious accident and it is my responsibility to take care of her. I read about Z’s loss and I was stunned. Good post. As usual you are on the money.

  17. LOT: my sypathies for you, sir.

The Rest: you refuse to admit it: you are JEALOUS of success and try, along with the rest of America’s Diminishers, to denigrate success when you see it because you 1) Can’t do it yourselves and 2) Envy what many persons have accomplished in their lives as opposed to yours. I’m not a wealthy individual; far from it. But when I pass I’ll know that whatever I possess I acquired by family and hard work. The government NEVER gave me a “handout”.

You can blow and rage and justify; but there is NOTHING like an INDEPENDENT American, FREE from GOVERNMENT and obligations to The State.

Rush is everything the Left hates: WEALTHY, completely INDEPENDENT from ties to the G, he can’t be dissuaded from his opinions, he has ACCESS to a MASSIVE MEDIA chain, he flies on his own personal JET, he owns MULTIPLE homes, AND he can pretty much act as he pleases. He does NOT have to do ANY governmental dance.

And that just fries your asses, doesn’t it?

    You make me giggle.

    Nothing succeeds like success.

    BZ

  18. Jealous of Limbaugh? ROFLMAO! I’d like to see that fat blowhard shred down a mountain like me! This whole country is my playground.
I covet nothing from that man. If this man is so great why does he feel that he must ridicule the poor and those with less than him. If conspicuous consumption is his legacy, that is sad indeed. Where is his foundation to help the less fortunate?

“Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done and on all the labor in which I had toiled; and indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. there was no profit under the sun”
    Ecclesiattes 2:11

I hope he enjoys it while he can. For it will not last. Gluttony, Vanity, Anger. This is what I see when I look at this man.

There is no Envy in my heart regarding Limbaugh.

  19. Ignoring R. Limbaugh’s documented racism, he should be disbarred from ownership because ownership is not a right it’s a privilege and if the NFL owners don’t want him R. Limbaugh can pound sand.

Oh and his unabashed undulating mockery of a person with a medical disability (Michael J. Fox) is enough of a reason to drop him.

  20. Grungy Gene: nice try. Capitalism is what it is. Let’s say I had a profitable restaurant you wanted to buy. I’m old and tired and my restaurant and all its customers is for sale. But I’ve read your post here and I checked you out.

I don’t care for your political leanings, you Leftist.

Screw ya. My restaurant isn’t for sale.

    To YOU.

    Would you sue me?

  21. Anon is still unable to think for himself, and relies only on others to get talking points. Yet it is not their talking points that are asked for but one’s own thoughts backed up by direct evidence. I go to these sites and find misdirection at work, I see audio only of video broadcasts, and I see the religion of Anti-Rush going strong.

Yea and verily does Anti-Rush become a religion when those who get only the pre-digested, pre-authorized rants then go forth and promulgate them. They do have as the Holy Way of Saint Dowd of the Ellipses to thank for being able to string together parts of what one says to have someone say the direct opposite of what is said. And, too, the PoMo Mojo is introduced on every word and phrase along with Acrostic Mystical Interpretation so as to use what is said as a Bible Code so that reading across and up and down and backwards will finally yield proof of their most perfect hatred.

Hate filled, the Anti-Rush religion raises tempers, point to their so very perfect Dowdified PoMo Mojo Acrostic Interpretations to prove, yes PROVE, that they are in the right ever and always, now and forever until Kingdom Come. They have their Anti-Christ incarnate and are unwilling to see the man otherwise for they know, KNOW, that they are right in using any mis-statement, any skit, any physical description and any ethical failing to show just how bad this Anti-Christ is.

They do not look in the mirror, of course. Nor recognize their own hatred’s blindness, their own ethical lapses, their own hysteria driving them onwards. For they are the Anointed with their Most Perfect Mission in the religion of Anti-Rush. Nor do they recognize the reverberations of the Echo Chamber of their Indulgence which they so easily spout off about at the drop of the hat and always point to others for their words, unable to generate their own in such blind, thoughtless hatred.

Yet I cannot hate them for the state that they put themselves in.

Only pity them for the waste of their time in attacking a human entertainer, and wasting their human potential that could be used to build bridges in society, not seek to destroy others to their base level of blind hatred. And like all cults, the only one who can save them are themselves.
