San Antonio tabloid declares war on cops

Stephanie Zarriello San Antonio Observer

SA Observer Editor Stephanie Zarriello, not a friend of law enforcement.

The San Antonio Observer, a weekly Leftist tabloid aimed at the black community, has declared war on cops — as we watch Stephanie Zarriello, the Caucasoid Editor-In-Chief of said weekly, say so at a press conference in the below video — with a bow-tied Black Muslim member in the background for security, his earpiece in place.

“Like Ku Klux Klansmen with hoods, they do everything they can to protect their identities for fear of being brought to justice.  Just as the names and addresses of sex offenders are publicized in order to protect the public from their wicked behavior, we feel that our community has the right to the exact same level of protection.  We of the San Antonio Observer newspaper are looking into the future prospects of publicizing the names and the addresses of all San Antonio Police Department officers.”

This reprehensible exhibition follows on the heels of two terrible events.

First was the shooting by the San Antonio Police Department of a black male, the predicating event for Zarriello’s puerile rant.

SAN ANTONIO — John Lee, who fatally shot an unarmed man on the North Side last week, was not the only uniformed San Antonio Police Department officer at the scene, according to new details revealed in an incident report obtained by MySA.com Wednesday.

Officer Lee said he believed Antronie Scott, 36, was holding a gun at the time of the shooting, however, the object was a cellphone.

Wanted on two felony warrants, Scott was being followed by undercover officers Thursday, McManus said in a briefing that night. They watched as he drove to the Wood Hollow Apartments at 10362 Sahara St., near Isom and Ramsey roads, about 6:45 p.m. and called for a uniformed officer to approach him, McManus said.

The other tragic event involved the shooting deaths of two Harford County (MD) deputies this Wednesday; one deputy was shot in the head without warning.

Members of David Brian Evans’ estranged family were alarmed to see him several times in the last month at the Panera Bread restaurant in Abingdon, calling police to report that the man they say shot his former wife almost 20 years ago was back in town.

On Wednesday morning, his former wife saw him there again and called police. Harford County sheriff’s Senior Deputies Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon responded — and were shot to death by Evans, who was killed by return fire.

More details emerged Thursday about Evans, 68, whose son says had abused his family, and about the officers who died at his hands. Dailey, 52, and Logsdon, 43, were veterans of the Marines and the Army, respectively, who left behind children, parents and what Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler said were “absolutely” devastated colleagues.

And this despicable threat was offered by Zarriello in keeping with what many term the current “war on cops,” as I wrote here on Tuesday and then spoke about on the Tami Jackson Show on the 405 Media that same day, with former Chief of Police Enes Smith.  The podcast is here.

Later, Zarriello recanted her words to Fox’s Shannon Bream, saying that, no, that’s not what she meant.  She meant to perhaps publish the addresses of the “bad cops” but could not delineate a “bad cop.”  Bream asked how Zarriello would determine a “bad cop” if they haven’t been convicted in an American court of a charge or crime?  Zarriello said yes, that’s true, they should only be identified by a conviction.

Zarriello made the linkage of publishing the addresses of law enforcement officers in San Antonio to the publishing of the addresses of registered sex offenders.

And the owner of the Observer didn’t even provide his name.

Absolutely disgusting.

But I want you to understand, without reservation, that in the eyes and minds of Leftists, those two events are one and the same, with the unspoken exception that sex offenders can’t help themselves and cops have it coming.

I’m sorry, White Editor Goddess, ruler of black publishing in San Antonio, but that’s not what you said at your press conference.

Your publication’s owner — who refused to give his name to the press — said well, now, we may have overstated things a bit.

Finally, I determined it would be appropriate to weigh in with the following comment.

SA ObserverYes, this is what passes for “journalism” these days in the bankrupt culture of Leftists.

  1. The only thing this will accomplish is a greater chance of not only dead cops, but dead citizens and criminals.

This will embolden thugs to lash out and try to hurt or kill cops. As a reaction to this, cops will be even more on the defensive, as they know that there are those out there who have committed to killing cops. So, cops will be less reasonable, and less likely to give the benefit of the doubt to those they encounter. One wrong move, one glance at something that looks like a weapon in the hands of someone, and the cops start shooting.

This does nothing but incite violence, and promote more deaths. This should be illegal and these idiots held responsible for any shootings that will surely happen.

    • dekare, absolutely correct. It’s a mindset and Leftists have been emboldened overall by the attitude from DC. Obama sets the tone for DC and the nation. Right now the tone is that all cops are evil and need to be punished.

Yes, you are right. It can tend to create a bunker mentality. That’s not good. But already cops are enduring the Ferguson Effect and not getting quite so involved in activity as they once were. They realize the importance of career survival as well as physical officer survival.

In terms of responsibility from Leftists, that won’t happen. There are no expectations of it, so no expectations will be met. They are truly accountable to no one.

We are beginning to get the kind of law enforcement we deserve.

  2. Stark difference between 40 years of dealing with the reality of crime and the liberals trying to excuse crime. Blaming your miserable existence on “the man” and not doing anything to improve yourself or taking the fight to the exploiters seems to be the new normal. I remember the Panthers of the 60’s in Denver had a fairly clear ideas who was screwing them, and didn’t hesitate to fight back. As an example, slumlords had to hire off duty policeman when they went to collect rent.

      • BZ,

I fear you are right. This next election will look like hitler’s brown shirts. If bernie wins, well in my opinion, America is over. This will mean that the majority of We The People will have discarded the republic our Founding Fathers gave us and have switched to what will amount to communism. I will guess that there will be people like me who will resist this greatly. I will either keep my head down, and try to live out the next 30-40 years of my life avoiding it, or, if the opportunity comes to join the “rebel alliance” I will. The death of the republic will NOT be an easy one.

If hiLIARy wins, this will be obama’s third term, only with a brash hiLIARy taking socialism to the next phase. Again, not much different than what bernie will do.

If Trump or Cruz wins, which in my opinion, is the most likely of the two future presidents, the other side will go apeshit. Especially if it is Trump. They have almost been instructed at this point that if Trump wins, and they have been informed that Trump is the enemy, that any violence they do will be justified, as to them, the enemy has taken over. On top of this, the GOPe will gladly help them as they despise Trump almost as much as they do…hell maybe even more.

There will have to be a smackdown of incredible proportions to all of those that revolt. And with that the claims of excessive force and violence from the minority that will be causing the problems.

I can only guess that what is ahead will not be unlike what the country was like in the years leading up to the Civil War. Obama has done a bang up job of dividing this country, which I am sure was his plan. And if there is a Civil War, it will make the first one look like a small skirmish. What really scares me is that in the first one, we were allowed to fight it out amongst ourselves and the winner took over. This will most likely not be the case. There are way too many powerful countries out there that will gladly step in while America is at its weakest, and take over. Putin, NorKs, and/or China would love the opportunity and would be all to glad to take advantage of it.

That is of course, if obama leaves office at all. If he does, he will probably maintain a healthy level of influence over politics for years to come.

I hope I am only being paranoid. That Trump wins, and shakes up the whole establishment. That the GOP need to remember who they are supposed to be or if not, they go the way of the whigs, and a new party is formed. That would be amazing to me, and I would get to say I saw it happen. Hell, I like the party of the Lion and would be glad to see the elephant go off to die in the elephant grave yard. A new party invigorated by young vibrant men like Cruz and Rubio, allowed to function within the new parameters of AMERICANS FIRST. But that will not be without a price.

In the meantime, as you said, we will get the police force we deserve. We are both law enforcement, and all of us have stated for years, that cops will only be what the citizens want us to be. Want tough on crime, we will do it. Start persecuting us for arresting bad guys and Monday morning quarterback us every step of the way, and not have our back…well, we may just park under a tree and handle our calls to the minimum allowed. It’s like wanting a hamburger, but not wanting to know the particulars on where the meat came from. You can’t tell the butcher to NOT kill the cow and still expect a delicious burger for lunch. Police work is kinda like that. There is the notion by those that have never carried a gun and a badge on how law enforcement works, and then there is the real world.

The average citizen has to imagine what it would be like to go to work, walk up to the copy repair guy, and ask him how long the copier will be down, and as he is talking to you, pulls out a knife and tries to stab you. They would not know what to do. They would believe that something like this could happen and that they might die while just trying to make a living and working hard. Combine this with the fact that their boss may fire them for provoking the copy guy. Imagine how different they would think if this was a real possibility everyday. They would not like the mindset they would need to have in order to function at work and survive everyday.

Well, that is what police do everyday. We need to protect ourselves from both sides. Hell, we used to joke that we needed to double up on our shock plates on the back of our vests, as it was upper management that we were more afraid of with all the back-stabbing.

And how different it has become. After 9/11, we were heroes and loved by all. Some of my best memories were the accolades I got for just wearing a uniform. And here we are a little over a decade later, and all of it undone by obama. We are hated. What is worse, is that this is not stemming from thugs, but from our leaders, telling everyone that we are scum, that we deserve to be killed, and that we are evil people who serve no good purpose. WTF? How many cops no longer take pride when they pin that badge on their shirt every morning. I can tell you, everytime I did that, I was proud.

Anyway, I rambled again. Great article. I do hope there is a happy ending once obama vacates, which cannot happen soon enough. I can only imagine America will have the same relief that Rome did when Nero was removed.

I think history will be made with this next election. It will be looked at as either the day America became great again, or as the election that drove the nail in America’s coffin. I hope it’s the first one.

And I wonder…if America dies, will humanity ever see anything like it again….ever?!!
