SCOTUS Nominee Sotomayor Quote:

Have you read this quote:

The Second Amendment applies only to limitations the federal government seeks to impose on this right.”

— Opinion of the court, including Judge Sotomayor, Maloney v. Cuomo (2009)

What does that sentence mean to you?

And moreover, what does the Second Amendment mean to you:

In my opinion, the Second Amendment is extremely clear.

(CNSNews.com) – Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor ruled in January 2009 that states do not have to obey the Second Amendment’s commandment that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

In Maloney v. Cuomo, Sotomayor signed an opinion of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that said the Second Amendment does not protect individuals from having their right to keep and bear arms restricted by state governments.

America, the revolutionary writing is becoming more visible on the wall. You think your freedoms are immured forever in stone?

Perhaps you’d best think again.

  1. I fear we’re simply going to wake up one morning and collectively ask ourselves: “Gee, what happened to our freedoms?”

Then again, there are those who will be eminently satisfied that they’re having their hands held and being babysat.

  2. I think those who voted for ‘the one’ will say that.. Those who have been enlightened perhaps, but we will know exactly what happened to our freedoms and what needs to be done to change back if it isn’t too late. Of course the GOP doesn’t get it YET that we need solid conservative leaders as candidates, not moderates.

The only way to change it is in 2010 and 2012. There are some things we aren’t going to be able to change.

We can change our history after Reagan where we decided as a party to moderate and ‘reach out’ by embracing some of the socialism the dems’ offered. We have to go hard right in order to change things. It is plain and simple but I think some of the leadership in our party is afraid to do that.

  3. It may come down to another “Continental Congress” – with a declaration of Independence from the Bureaucratic Administration of the United States.

And, of course, a new Constitution without Amendments that can be “misinterpreted” by a panel of activist judges.

Just imagine – a truly conservative nation, based on Christian values.

  4. The left insists that the meaning of the 2nd Amendment isn’t clear but it is a lot clearer than the sentences coming out of her muddled mind.

  5. Rivka, Cary & Shoprat:

Here’s something strange: for 2010, I really think there’s a GOOD chance that the GOP may get the House back in majority; the Senate, not so much.

I think there’s the fomentation of a bit of a backlash already. Only four months in.

  6. So the GOP gets it back, big deal…

The GOP is nothing more than Dem-Lite…

Clean em ALL out, it’s not that hard to understand, all it takes if actually DOING it…

Short of that, the Texas House sent the Texas Sovereignty resolution to the Texas Senate, I am pretty sure it’s going to pass, and the Texas Secession movement is in high gear, and all things considered, if they can do it and make it work, I am ALL for it…

The USA needs Texas, and all it has, a hell of a lot more than Texas needs the USA and the socialist sons a bitches running it and the shit for brains libbers that are supporting it!

  7. Sotomayor is plum crazy. YOu don’t make legal decisions based upon ethnicity or conscience. you make legal decisions based upon case precedents but more importantly the CONSTITUTION. For some reason, folks of her ilk have forgotton about the Constitution all together. I fail to understand why, simply that if she gets confirmed, we will step backwards on human rights for sure and tax payer funded abortion will be the law of the land. How scary!
