Super Bowl 44 Champs: Saints Do It, 31 to 17!

Their first ever Super Bowl win.

Congratulations to the Saints. It was a hard-fought game, good back-and-forth but, again, the best team won. And the Saints deserved to win.

  1. Hurray, huzzah! It was great to stay home and watch. I liked the part where announcer guy says that the Colts were above the blitz, then the Saints blitz produced the interception and touchdown. He owned up to it promptly. Woo hoo!

  2. DM: you gotta admit, during the “losers” interview, the Colts coach showed a lot of maturity and class.

Clint: I enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t a blowout; it was a hard-fought game and no one walked away with the game, making it a complete blowout.

  3. For years I have always responded with “When the Saints win the Super Bowl” when someone asked me when I was going to do something I had NO intention of doing… Guess I gotta look for a better excuse… WHO DAT!!!

  4. For quite some time, almost the first half, The Saints sputtered, and it looked like the Colts would break it open.
    Then the half-time.

When the 2nd half started with the successful “ballsey” on-side kick, the Saints were a completely different team! Yes they were.
I wonder what Coach Sean Payton said during the half-time locker room inspirational speech?

This win is truly good for Louisiana, and New Orleans.

I am also glad that Ray Nagin, that past scum-bag Mayor, was not a part of the celebration.

  5. I am a Colts fan, & wanted them to win, but congratulations are in order for the Saints! Great comeback, & great victory especially in light of all those “Aint’s” years! Gives me hope that maybe even my Bengals may do it sometime! Now THAT would really be something!

  6. With the risky plays of going for a TD on fourth and goal to the onside kick to start the 2nd hafl, the Saints played to win. They didn’t show up to be 2nd best, they played to win. And Brees deserved the MVP. The commercials were a bit mediocre though.
