Looks like ol ‘ BZ called the Iowa caucus earlier Thursday afternoon on two blogs:
- I called Huckabee on the GOP side;
- I wrote that Obama would triumph over Hillary.
One observation: after watching Ed Rollins on Brit Hume’s Fox News show, I’ve concluded that Rollins is a raving asshole. If I were even remotely considering Huckabee, Rollins (Huck’s campaign manager) killed da ‘bee for me.
Some more observations:
1. Iowa was a major slap in the face to Hillary (3rd behind Obama & Edwards);
2. She is insufficiently Left for the Left (as I have frequently written);
3. She is as warm and cuddly as an American Standard movie urinal;
4. William Jefferson is privately smiling, and experiencing his own personal streak of Schadenfreude because, after all, he’s the complete embodiment of the Demorats, not Hillary.
On the GOP side, I can’t say for certain that Iowa unequivocally killed any candidate, not necessarily even Fred. And does this — gulp — possibly portend a McCain/Thompson candidacy?
We will see what we will see. And now, on to — Wyoming??
BZ
Suppose Hucksterbee was the Repub choice?? You still voting straight Repub or is he a deal breaker??
Is there internet in Costa Rica?
I can state unequivocally that if it’s Huckabee, it’s a GUARANTEE that the Demorats win.
I just updated the post: I’m wondering now; a McCain/Thompson ticket?
BZ
Also, you can COUNT on this: if Romney tanks, he’ll throw over to Giuliani. Mark me words, matey.

Ranando: I can bet the internet is MORE accessible in Costa Rica than where I live up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I’ll betcha a C-note on that one. I’m on a 54.6 kbps DIAL-UP. Grrrr. . .
BZ
It’s still early in the game and anything is possible, but a couple of losers have probably already been shaken out.
Shop: I’m not sure that Romney can recover. If his huge war chest can’t make the difference. . .
Giuliani also lost to RON PAUL.
Despite all these things, I can only say that EVERY beach ball is STILL in the air.
With some exceptions. . .
:^(

You called it, bz!
great rundown! I linked to your rundown. I am too dissapointed about Huckabee to be passionate enough to write anything so I referred everyone to read your blog. Not that I have a lot of readers yet, but anyway..
BLo you are right. If the huckster keeps fooling the evangelicals he could win and then Obama or Hillary could be our next president.. Then the bad dreams become realities.
I’m glad Iowa is over. It is always a preseason game anyway.
The fact that Fred came in 3’rd, after being written off by many, bodes well for him.
You are very right about Romney votes moving toward Guliani. I’ll bet that Guliani will be the real running mate for the front runner.
If Huckabee last long in the front, I’ll be amazed. I know one thing for certain, Huckabee’s campaign staff is in for a long and well paid future in upcoming elections.

I think you just stated the all around general consensus, everyone was a bit taken back by the Huckster winning, I had a one liner on my blog: “I do NOT believe that the Republican voters of Iowa are THAT damned stupid…”
BZ,
You guys OK up there?
I never thought I would see William Jennings Bryan run as a Republican…
Now, just where *has* Teddy Roosevelt gotten to?
