First, Homeland Security purchased half a billion rounds of .40 caliber ammunition; I already covered these news items here on Bloviating Zeppelin:
– ATK secures .40 caliber ammo contract with Department of Homeland Security & ICE.
– DHS Informant: US government preparing for massive civil strife
And now, the SSA is getting into the Ammo Game as well:
Social Security Administration To Purchase 174 Thousand Rounds Of Hollow Point Bullets
First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.
A solicitation posted by the SSA on the FedBizOpps website asks for contractors to supply 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.”
An online ammunition retailer describes the bullets as suitable “for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns,” noting that the ammo is “a great personal defense bullet.”
The synopsis to the solicitation adds that the ammunition is to be shipped to 41 locations within 60 days of purchase. A separate spreadsheet lists those locations, which include the Social Security headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland as well as major cities across the country including Los Angeles, Detroit, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle.
And what are those locations?
Why yes, those are the largest cities where the Demorats Rule and where there are more persons, per square inch, sucking off the Federal Government Nipple.
What does that tell you about these preparations? That is this:
Your loving federal government is anticipating having to shoot or kill those very persons it taught to love sucking off that selfsame nipple.
Just a tad wee bit of irony, wouldn’t you posit?
How about some additional points of interest:
– As reported, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has put out a contract for 46,000 rounds of hollow point bullets along with 500 paper targets.
– This was followed by another DHS solicitation asking for a further 750 million rounds of assorted bullets, including .357 magnum caliber rounds that are able to penetrate walls.
– The DHS recently put out an order for riot gear in preparation for the upcoming DNC, RNC and presidential inauguration. The U.S. Army is also busy buying similar equipment.
– The DHS also recently purchased a number of bullet-proof checkpoint booths that include ‘stop and go’ lights.
This literally screams some rather revealing factual points to me, that no one seems to be either interested in or able to “connect.”
If the Obama Administration were truly as proudly confident of its own budgetary and economic policies as it boasts, it would find no reason whatsoever to arm itself against its own citizenry — because said citizens would be soothed and calmed by the salving effects of the aforementioned policies.
Instead, we have the federal government ramping up domestic federal armaments whose only possible purpose can be to stem civil insurrection. Specifically: to shoot, wound or kill citizens of the United States on US soil.
Let me take this one step further in terms of my applying what I term the Logical Extension:
The Obama Administration isn’t stupid. It is highly educated, plotting, planning, and does nothing that hasn’t been considered, massaged and vetted. It micro-manages to the point where Mr Obama seldom speaks without a TelePrompter.
Which tells me: the Obama Administration full well knows its economic policies are unworkable and unsustainable. It is therefore anticipating the resulting national panic and chaos.
Which yields the bottom line: Mr Obama and his surrounding personnel are purposely doing their very level best to enable the Cloward-Piven Strategy.
I can draw no other conclusion, considering the facts in evidence.

OK, now even I am starting to worry…
The DHS order was supposedly a 5 year delivery period and said to be a normal order considering they TRAIN with the ammo they carry… An additional 750K rounds? That’s a hell of a lot of training…
There may be some serious shit cooking off, I hope my LEO sources can get the straight deal and let us know as they do…
First, I’d check with your local National Guardsmen. Confirm, as I did, that they carry .40 cal — they DO in Fornicalia.
That one fact straightened my ass up rather quickly — knowing where those rounds REALLY may be going.

Good post and good points!
NFO, and I would suggest some brief exploration in your state as well.

And as Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft -Sauer owners know, the P226 can be converted from .40 cal to .357 Sig by merest dint of a simple barrel change.
I was and am a SIG armorer. For my department as Rangemaster and privately for a very select group of deputies.

JB It would be a sad day to see that. We have always be mataril in spirit in this country all the way from the right to defend one’s home, called the Castle Doctrine to the Founders makng the first amendment the right to Free Speech and the second amendment giving us the means to defend the first. Our history, tied in many ways to Canada and Great Britain, recognized the powerful phraseSic Semper Tyrranus ‘Down with tyrants’Our common bonds share a history of 2,000 years of a bloody uphill fight to preserve and maintain our liberties from the Roman Civil Laws, Magna Carta, English Common Law to the Constitution and Bill of RightsIn each case and each era the common citizen fought to preserve their rights against tyrants who sought to disarm the people and take their rights.thus goes the story. And guns are as embedded a part of the story as anything that we hold dear.
Victor, you are quite correct.
Thank you for visiting, and thank you for taking the time to comment.
Please return frequently.

Look at it this way – those of us who carry .40 will have a steady source of back-up ammo, as it is dropped by those who no longer need it.
Hmmmmmm. . .
BZ
Actually, that’s a nice plan. . .

As a Canadian following the U.S. presidential campaign I have to say the Romney/Ryan ticket seems to be a better choice not only for the U.S. but for my country as well. Most Canadians were disappointed when President Obama didn’t approve the Keystone pipeline project and thus destroyed a promising prospect on the way to the economic recovery in both countries. More importantly, the interconnection between Canada and the U.S. is benefical not only for our national economy as a whole but also for the economic development in Canada’s regions which could best be seen when the recovery in the U.S. motor vehicle market positively influenced Toronto’s leading automotive industry. However, I’m afraid that Obama’s decisions could threaten such positive economic development and worsen the relationship between Canada and the U.S.
