The Obama Administration, by way of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, make it very clear that the current Demorat-controlled Washington is more concerned with acquiring power and control than it is with money — though money is the means to that end: power.

Bailouts: Didn’t Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner say that it was not the administration’s intent to control private companies? Then why is it reportedly reluctant to accept TARP repayments from some banks? If it has indeed declined to accept $340 million in payments from banks in Louisiana, New York, Indiana and California, the administration is tacitly admitting that it wants to control those banks as well as others that will try to pay back the taxpayers’ money they took in the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
By refusing repayment, the government can keep the leverage it bought with the bailouts. Banks that still “owe” would not be in position to reject the administration as a “partner.”
Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin the work of remaking America.”
Socialists believe in government ownership of the means of production. Fascists believed in government control of privately owned businesses, which is much more the style of this government. That way, politicians can intervene whenever they feel like it and then, when their interventions turn out badly, summon executives from the private sector before Congress and denounce them on nationwide television.”
The printing presses are working overtime and every dollar being printed is going through the halls of congress and out again with only one goal in mind—more government control of all our lifes. The conservative seeks those things that are best for himself and his family, the liberal on the other hand seeks those things which he believes are best for others. The gap between these two opposing positions is too wide to bridge and growing. A revolution is starting in this country and unless we on the right see and accept this we are doomed to lose the struggle and with that all those freedoms we cherish the most. Just posted on this subject.
All of which is why they must lose the next election and lose it decisively.
Anyone who professes to be against what is going on right now, whether conservative, or not, had DAMNED WELL BETTER start RIGHT NOW working toward electing people in their respective states to replace any and every politician that has been signing onto this insane bullshit that that bucking ofama has been shoving down our throats!! That statement INCLUDES Collins and Snowe and Specter!! If the United States of America is to have ANY chance of surviving 4 years of this asshole, we have GOT to win back the Senate in 2010. It can be done, but NOT if we don’t start now!
AA: and that is PRECISELY the point. ALL politics is local, and that’s where it all starts.
Allow me to make this comment if you will, and please think about it for a moment — and the implications for YOU, each and every one of my readers; I say:
“Your local city council is a ‘bootcamp’ for political corruption.”

BZ, super post, great points.
But, we’re tiring! yes, local gov’t is the seed, isn’t it……..
A friend complained to her children’s principal that Christmas was now called Winter Holiday, etc etc….he finally said “Mrs. Day, ONLY LIBERALS and SECULARISTS are volunteering for PTA head, School Board positions, etc., if you want changes, you need to step up, but I don’t see that happening…”
She went to home schooling instead of fighting as she’d been SO downtrodden in trying to get heard. She quit.
There’s a cautionary tale there, folks.
BZ: You are spot-on, as usual.
Z: yes, there IS a cautionary tale and that is this — if you quit, you LOSE and everything you hold in contempt WINS.
