Venezuela: Deadlier Than Iraq?

Actually: YES.

Venezuela, under the benevolent and glorious leader Hugo Chavez (just ask Sean Penn and Cindy Sheehan), is a more deadly country than Iraq. Imagine that. Heard this in the Mainstream Media, did you? Likely not, I submit.

In fact, Sean Penn said that journalistas who even hint that Chavez is a dictator should be subject to prison terms.

Such an enlightened man, that Sean Penn.

Here’s a gruesome distinction: Under Hugo Chavez, Caracas is more dangerous than Baghdad and, although their populations are approximately the same size, Venezuela is more dangerous than Iraq.

And it’s not even close. In 2009 in Iraq, there were 4,644 violent civilian deaths. In Venezuela, according to figures attributed to the Venezuela Observatory of Violence, the number was 16,047. Even that figure is probably on the low side. A leaked government report says the number is over 19,000.

Venezuela may well be the most violent country in Latin America. In Caracas, the homicide rate is 200 per 100,000 population. In neighboring Bogota, Colombia, once notorious for its violence, it is 22.7 per 100,000. (For the entire U.S., it is 5.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.) Since 2007, there have been 43,792 homicides in Venezuela; over approximately the same period of time, 28,000 have been killed in Mexico’s drug-fueled violence, according to The New York Times.

Keeping that in mind, compare and contrast those Muslim Imams who are baldly stating that over half a million Iraqi civilians have been killed by Americans in that country. Another lie. A lie. Spelled L–I–E.

But because it conflicts with the general philosophy/belief systems of Leftist American “journalistas,” you won’t read of this fact.

Because the MSM (MainStream Media) truly IS, as I call them, the DEM: Defeatist, Elitist Media.

Once again, this is why you read my blog and other Conservative sites. We provide information you would otherwise not acquire — by the remarkable ignorance, willful blindness and purposeful exclusions of the MSM/DEM.

  2. If the answer is yes then why oh why oh why does the United States maintain extensive commercial ties with them? They are one of the top 4 oil suppliers to the US. What’s more, in 2007 bilateral trade between us and them totaled $50 Billion.

  6. Hugo is in bed with Iran, FARC and Hezbollah. He has funded FARC in its fight against Colombia and is helping to get Hezbollah operatives into Colombia to radicalize its muslim minority. He has purchased lots of lovely equipment from Russia and China…

    So you have the drug trade, radical islam, and lots of fun new weapons going into Venezuela, plus repression, stifling of dissent in rather permanent ways and a general leftist ideal of ‘do as I say or you die’. No wonders the left loves him: he is their most perfect dictator since Mussolini.

    Needless to say his work with Cuba in spreading disorder is aimed northwards. And we have the loving left and its open borders concept so we can get all sorts of lovely killings and kidnappings here. Thanks to the left there will be a WWIV, and it will be a hot, not a cold war.

    I wonder….Does anybody really pay attention to what Sean Penn says? Hell, he’s merely an actor, not an expert on politics.

  8. Hi Blo … Isn’t it interesting that some celebrities equate their popularity with brain power and political acumen. Many seem to live in a dream world all their own. Why is the disgraced Jane Fonda still news? Who told Barb Streisand she is a social scienced expert? And how about that overwhelmingly stupid Lou Grant imitator? The list goes on and on.

    But . . . there are some good folks in the entertainment business as well. Gary Sinese comes to mind quickly. He doesn’t go for headlines but does good things with his celebrity stature.

    Let’s just put Sean Penn and Jane Fonda in the same cave and seal the door.
