On Monday, August 10th, Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer wrote an opinion piece in USA Today. Go here for the complete link.
This editorial was entitled: “‘Un-American’ attacks can’t derail health care debate.”
The very first sentence is an absolute lie:
Americans have been waiting for nearly a century for quality, affordable health care.
Do you know how employer-offered healthcare came about? Because, at the end of World War II, various employers sought to offer a perk to returning soldiers that other businesses did not. Simple as that.
However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue.
An ugly campaign. Right. That “ugly” ability to state, verbally and in writing, your dissension with whatever policy or bill might be proffered by your federal government.
Nancy continues to write in this editorial:
These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.
So, let it be known now: Demorat Nancy Pelosi deems dissension on ANY of HER issues to be unpatriotic.
Despite dissension having been embraced for decades — until Conservatives seem to be finding their voice.
Trial Lawyers own the Demorat party.
