A joke becomes reality: Williams-Sonoma pulls pressure cookers from shelves

Pressure Cooker OutlawedAs I’ve said for years, you can’t write this shite.

You’ve heard all the jokes: “When pressure cookers are outlawed, only outlaws will have  pressure cookers.”

So, in a serious note, Williams-Sonoma buys into this meme.

From Reason.com:

Following the Boston Marathon bombing last Monday in which pressure cookers were used for the explosion, the cookware giant has decided to temporarily stop selling the items in their Massachusetts stores.

“It’s a temporary thing out of respect,” said Kent, who is the Store Manager of the Williams-Sonoma at the Natick Mall.

He referred Patch to corporate for further questions. Williams-Sonoma also has a local branch at Legacy Place in Dedham.

Pressure cookers will still be available on the Williams-Sonoma website.

Oh my God.

We are a nation that is SO incredibly ripe for takeover.

  1. Perhaps the rot is too deep. Mature adults supposedly made this decision.

I wonder what would happen if i dressed in camo and tried to buy a pressure cooker down at Walmart?

  2. Also the expolsives came from fireworks stands in New Hampshire.
Here in Texas, fireworks are sold for a brief time just before holidays like July 4th, Labor day.
These big sky bombs have a lot of powder in them, and this is what was used,,,,as per our FBI.
And welfare $ purchased the fireworks!!!

    • And some of the circuits came from radio controlled toys.

Guess we’ll have to BAN radio controlled toys now, won’t we?
