A Pause For Blog Reflection:

The turmoil in this country has reached a fevered pitch.

I thought, mistakenly, that somehow I might be able to avoid the more unpleasant portions of the strife inside my glorious country. But clearly I cannot.

It distresses me horribly to have to enable Comment Moderation for now and into the immediate and foreseeable future.

But Comment Moderation is now in effect, because something I thought would not happen — has happened.

I value the ability of people to disagree with each other. I value free speech and the First Amendment. I have let everyone, everyone, comment here unimpeded since my blog’s inception in 2004. Personal attacks persuade no one. Logic and facts and history hold sway here. I have, please believe me, done my level best to ensure no one was censored at this blog since 2004.

However: an individual whom I believed had a good grounding in reality, and with whom I disagreed — yet thought I could trust to write and comment here in good faith — has betrayed my trust in him. His name is now immaterial and shall not be mentioned.

But when, in my Tuesday, March 30th post, he compared me — in my own comments section — to the recently-arrested militia members seeking to kill law enforcement officers, I drew a line.

And that’s enough. That’s simply enough. I do not and have never gone to his blog to insult him and denigrate his worth not only to the country but accuse him of allegiances with outlaw groups. He felt it was acceptable to make this comparison with me. And I fervently disagree. And I drew the line: that’s just enough.

In truth, he’s but one insignificant fly in an atmosphere of defeatists.

Defeatists and obscurists and rationalists in my nation. In my country. Who seem to think that the wholesale takeover of my country by its federal government is not only acceptable but to be expected.

People who cannot do what I call the “Logical Extension,” and people who seem to completely disregard history — those who possess what I term “Historical Alzheimers” — are doomed to repeat history. George Santayana is absolutely correct.

In my past two posts I deigned to compare Mr Obaka to Adolph Hiter — though I did not state that I believed Mr Obaka was Hitler. The title of my post was regarding history repeating itself. Comparisons were made in the times and situations in which a narcissist was placed into a position of remarkable power. The times which led to Hitler appear to be very similar to the times where Mr Obaka is now in power.

[A brief aside: perhaps some of you have noticed that never have I placed the word President and the name Obama together. There is a reason for this. In the way that Leftists feel Bush “stole” elections, I feel that Obama acquired a position for which he was minimally qualified — aided and abetted by our national media. Second: some may wonder about my recent spelling of Obama as Obaka. One week ago it was a typo in a single post. It worked for me then, it works for me now. And yes, it has to do with respect and, specifically, the lack thereof.]

I believe Mr Obaka to be an overbearing narcissist and megalomaniac who possesses uncanny timing in concert with perfect promises and a background, education, experience and a Pied Piper Cult of Personality that trumps all logic, common sense. His timing couldn’t have been better. His surrounding sycophants couldn’t have been more perfect, fawning, and opportunistic. To include, of course, the national media.

I have been accused of displaying a lack of respect towards Mr Obaka and, to that, I plead nolo contendere. Quite simply: yes. In my aged prime I have determined that persons shall earn my respect; I will not blindly proffer it due to position or rank. Another reason I am merely a Sergeant in my current organization. I am not a departmental nor a political Ass Kisser. Much to my remunerative displeasure. It is a fate with which I must live. I, however, sleep well at night after a hearty dinner.

Let there be no mistake, here at my blog: I view these times as not only tumultuous but potentially transformative. I perceive threats to my country. I see a federal government which is not only out of control but on a path to national doom.

I see a federal government — and state governments to a degree — who have no concept of definitions or lines or borders or perimeters or proportion or rationality. I see governments with no sense of finite. I see governments with no sense of limits.

Lines have to be drawn now.

You, dear readers, are simply with me or against me.

You either continue reading or you discard me in disgust.

If you discard me, then, quite frankly, I don’t want you in the first place. Judgmental, discriminating, I am.

I have to be, now. My entire country and the future of it and the planet is in question.

Lines have to be drawn now.

You, dear readers, are simply with me or against me.

The Comment Moderation pains me but, at this date, it is apparently necessary.
Let there be no mistake: I am not going away. And I would ask that all of you continue to post comments as you see fit. I will ship them into each post as quickly as I possibly can!

I only ask: are you — can you — be with me?

  1. To hell and back my friend. I am with you until the end of freedom buddy. I am trying to get my wife to write on your older post regarding NPD. She’s shy, yet smart, but she’s not into the whole debating and blog thing. So I hope she finds time within this week to make an educated post about the subject matter.

  2. P.s. don’t let the liberals get to you. Its a hard, frustrating fight, but this is for our freedom BZ. We need people like you to get people talking and thinking. But then again, its hard to talk to a person who has as much logic as a 3 year old, like the emotionally charged liberals. Yet I understand where you’re coming from.

  3. Chris: whatever she would wish to write, I would like to link to that source post. We would all benefit from her training, education and experience.

I didn’t think it would go this way but, clearly, it has. I feel as though I was betrayed.

  4. I’m in. 😉

And I wholeheartedly agree. The man in our White House does NOT deserve to be there. He does not deserve my respect. I even called Clinton, President Clinton. I will NOT do that for this man, as he is undeserving of my respect, infact he lately more and more garners my despise. Its actually uncomfortable for me not to do it because I believe in that office and all it stands for. Although I’ve disagreed with past Presidents, I gave them the respect due with the office.

You know I’m not as far right as you and most of your commenters but I do believe there is something terribly wrong going on right now in our country and I can only hope its stopped before we fall to far over the edge.

Still learning with every post, I remain.

  5. Further: my job has been predicated but upon the proper reading of the Human Animal, to include non-verbal posturing, kinesthetics. When in detectives I broke or closed cases with whatever skills I possessed. Further, I should like to point out that I teach interview and interrogation classes; and there is a VAST difference between the two paradigms.

My JOB has depended upon how it is that I managed to “read” the human animal. I have had many successes in doing so.

And thusly I predicate many of my comments about Mr Obaka upon my requisite TRAINING, and EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE.

    Imagine that.

  6. I’m here for the long haul. Nearly every syllable you wrote could have been yanked from my own heart.

On the topic that started this; When I first heard of the raids on militias, I thought “oh crap, here it starts.” But if the stories about why they are after this group is true, then by God, take em down.

I’m forming a militia here in Oklahoma and no one can afford evil people to form something like that. It hurts all of our efforts when they do.

Many times, BZ, I have posed the question, “what is your breaking point? What point does the government have to reach before we throw civility out the window? I’m there. I have no respect for the usurper in chief or his cronies. I have zero tolerance for his apologists and sycophants.

They are traitors to this nation and its founding principles.

God bless you and yours BZ. Keep your powder dry.

  7. peedee: You’re IN NOW.

The CIA and NSA and NRO and FBI and other alphabet agencies are already monitoring your e-mails and internet hits.

    You cannot escape them.

By the merest dint of a hit at my site you are now, by the NSA, placed into the category of “potential terrorist.”

You thought you were “free and clear?”

Negative. You are INEXORABLY LINKED to my horiffic site.

    BZ

  8. In till HELL freezes over BZ, and yeah, I know they are monitoring, they’re not terribly creative about it either…

Don’t let the fucked up words of a couple of libber assholes tear ya down man, they are garbage, have been from the start, one was a bit more articulate than the other but he was still a moonbat, possessed with a desire to opine on the size of other men’s wieners…

That should have told you a hell of a lot more than you EVER wanted to know… LMAO…

  9. First, I want to say to Greywolfe, God’s speed on your Oklahoma militia. I don’t know much about militias in my state of Oklahoma – or Oathkeepers, but I’m ready to learn more.

BZ: Comment moderation certainly will not discourage me from coming here. It’s just one more tool to use when you need it.

It’s too bad when a familiar commenter does something like this. Obama is driving them over the edge too. They are as busy trying to defend the indefensible, as we are trying to have a voice in this insane political environment.

    Moderate away.

  10. “However: an individual whom I believed had a good grounding in reality, and with whom I disagreed — yet thought I could trust to write and comment here in good faith — has betrayed my trust in him. His name is now immaterial and shall not be mentioned.”

Don’t bother is the right approach. I agree with your “Obama Policy” as I do the exact same thing. In fact I insert President Bush’s name always nearby to demonstrate the difference and I get called a racist. And to that I say “bite me”.

The word should just be ignored from now on, liberals have “raped it” of it’s meaning.

I just “don’t” value liberal “opinion” after the election period. My simple policy is “the only thing I can learn from an Obama voter is that affirmative action has permeated every level of our society, even the top”

Furthermore,I delete ALL liberal comments with no compunction nor regret because they were easily duped and aren’t deserved of enlightened company of Patriots. They sold the country to an open Marxist.

But when a so called friend “Japs” ya that’s just too bad. However, I have a saying about that too. “That’s what friends are for”…

  11. Whew! When I saw the title of this post, I first thought, “Oh, no! Another of my blogger friends has had enough and is quitting!” So many bloggers did quit after the November 2009 elections. **sigh**

but when, in my Tuesday, March 30th post, he compared me — in my own comments section — to the recently-arrested militia members seeking to kill law enforcement officers, I drew a line.

Well, more and more of us are going to have to endure that accusation.

BZ, I fully support you in your having to resort to comment moderation. A few years back, I had to archive my original site, then start up again with Haloscan comments so as to blog an exceptionally vile troll. The comments system is no longer free, but it’s worth the fee, IMO – not a suggestion that you do the same, IMO.

I will continue to stop by here on a regular basis. I love your web site!

  12. I’m an oft-reader, but infrequent commenter. Some of the back-&-forth name-calling turns me off, as it isn’t productive and has no value. If comment moderation is needed to clear this up, so be it.

While I was no fan of Pres. Bush, I always gave him the respect the *office* commands. I respect your right to deny that of Pres. Obama. See? It’s all about MUTUAL respect.

I may be with you AND against you…depending on the topic. That doesn’t put me in-between; it just maybe means I change lanes depending on the traffic. Either way, I generally enjoy what you have to say.

  13. Still here, still reading, still with ya!

There is a Scripture I have to remind myself of, “in those days evil men will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived” – 2 Tim 3:13. This was just a taste of what’s ahead.

As for being on the “wrong side of the law”, how does Christian, Bible-believing, homeschooling, 2nd Amendment supporting, Constitution-adhering, stay-at-home Mom get you?

Ha! I’m glad to read I am not alone, and neither are you!

  14. With you. It is too bad that we can no longer have disagreements over policy, in reasoned tones, in this country any more. If *they* wish to paint me with the broad brush of radicalism, while being radicals themselves, then so be it. We are now two countries sharing a common border, and our world views are diametrically opposed. This will not end well for our country.

    Count me in.

  15. I cannot understand, truly, the vitriol with which some folks choose to argue.
My father (who died in 2002) taught me that debate/arguing cannot be done effectively in an environment of violence or apathy.
To me, the elements on both the liberal and conservative sides that resort to personal, unreasonable attacks make no real points.
I highly respect you for keeping the comments open for as long as you have since you’ve often touched on explosive issues on this blog.
Whether I’ve agreed with you or not on all points, I respect your ability to state your position in a clear and concise way.
That said? I’m sorry that one person forced you to make a change.

  16. Animal: but here’s the deal. You haven’t resorted to the most base of personal attacks. THE biggest disagreement I have with the current administration is ALL about policy and ALL about a movement and direction that I very much believe will disable this country, and that almost no one in DC has truly examined the unintended consequences of their goals. Any further spending is simply unsustainable at best. You and I can disagree and that’s fine. That’s been my hallmark — up to now. But I don’t go to others’ blogs and make unsubstantiated and wildly false allegations about individuals hosting or owning those blogs.
We can disagree all along, that’s fine. But I won’t make any personal attacks. And you’re always welcome to come and comment here.

Sarah, Newbius, Jennifer: thank you for visiting and commenting. Please come back when you wish.

I just won’t take the personal attacks, folks. I haven’t done it to others, I don’t expect it to be done to me.

  17. Hi Blo . . . There are driplets on both sides. If you have to have comment management to turn the ugly personal comments off – so be it. But don’t let ’em get your goat. You’ve a great blog and you see the world as it is and not distorted by attack dogs. Let’s all try to keep it that way.

    Bump

  18. BZ, you are one hell of a fine Patrol Commander.
And, you have the genes of your Father, who also possesed the warrior spirit and dedication.

I have always been impressed with your absolute command of the English language.
Your metaphors are just remarkable and memorial.

You will not be defeated by some “ass-hole” of the leftist world.

    I stand beside you.

  19. Very good job, BZ, I’ve always enjoyed your writing, you are gifted. Sorry it had to come to this, but small price for me to pay, you’ve had to endure the false accs. God Bless you sir.

  20. BZ,
From one cop to another, name-calling is bullshit. We know it and take a ton of it on-duty. I’ll be around you can count on that. I wouldn’t miss your posts. I’m amazed at the sheer volume of them. As for back stabbers, screw em.

  21. As Grandpappy used to say, idjits come in all sizes, but the bigger they are the harder it is for them to hide.

When a bot tries to fit in with normal folks, it does not take long to figure out their true nature, for they cannot help themselves.

I have had comment moderation on from day one. Because I know there is idiots out there who I refuse to give a forum to. They have the MSM, why do you have to give them your tiny piece of the world to them? It is what the National Socialists want of course. Total control. Well, they can go find it somewhere else.

And frankly, if these “people” think you are radical, wait till they get a load of me!

  22. I went to moderation on my older material to keep out the spambots… but then my place in things is of no notice, plus I rarely post due to health and ensuring the essentials are taken care of as we head into Iron Times.

If you cannot take care of yourself, first, then you have no business telling other people what to do with their lives… and only those seeking to indenture themselves and their fellow man to government would want it any other way.

We stand in the same twilight, Mr. Z. By the republic because she is worth standing for and next to. That stand I took years ago when my health slippped through my fingers and only bitter will was left to me. Called to that place, I stand. In standing I slowly recover. I will never be without the shackles of mortal illness. I hope to see my Nation and my fellow citizens realize that taking is not a good way to give, that the cold hand of authority is not a giver of hope but a chastiser of those who would do us ill. The republic can recover from this… just so long as we each do as is required by our lives and keep our head raised to the constant star of Liberty.

That path is the path out of Hell.

Our government may fail such is the way of mortal creations.

Our path of Liberty, never, as it is everlasting.

  23. With you BZ—you have my respect, admiration and gratitude.
So sorry you have to go through this…
I have to moderate comments, too and it can be tedious at times….but I respect my readers enough to not want them subjected to trash talk.
    God Bless,
    Jo
