This is a wonderful video that I first found on Old NFO’s blog, and who showed me how to make it work. Not only a tribute to our WWII warriors, it is a tribute to the current Blue Angels and our US military in general.
In the course of your day, please take a moment or two to think about our American warriors, the sacrifices they’ve made on behalf of each and every US citizen in terms of your ability to, for example, read this blog, take your children to school, and operate in the free environment we currently enjoy.

Yep, the Navy DOES know how to do tradition 🙂
It sure as heck does; thanks again for the assist!

I love the Blue Angels and have seen them twice.
They are marvelous, are they not? If you’re anywhere near San Francisco during Fleet Week, they always come for an exhibition held over San Francisco Bay itself, between Alcatraz and roughly Pier 39. This year Fleet Week in SF is October 8 to 12.

But think about the waste of fuel.
And using front-line fighters in such a wasteful way?
Scandalous.
(Snark off now.)
LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
Greybeard: thanks for Snark Removal.

peedee: didn’t ya just DIG the hell outta the flyby in San Francisco Bay past all the boats??

Yeah, pretty cool!
I must say we have some great airshows down here. When we first moved here in the early 90’s the shows were at Homestead AFB, then they moved to north Miami (cant remember the name of the place) then about 10+ years ago they moved to Ft. Lauderdale Beach. AMAZING SHOWS. AMAZING!!! And although they used to switch off with the AF Thunderbirds every other year, the Angels were/are our favorites.
When the kid was at P-cola training, she saw them a few times a week when they were training between shows. She still couldnt get enough of them. She’d call me everytime if she was able and let me hear them flying around. Then the end of the season show they (All Aircrew) where allowed on the tarmac for the show.
I kid you not…they are a BIG reason she is in the Navy.
