Collin County Sheriff Terry Box says he, nor his deputies, will enforce unconstitutional gun laws put in place by whom he calls misguided politicians.
In the statement, Box said the following:
In light of recent events I feel I need to make a public statement of my views on this subject. As the Sheriff of Collin County, Texas, I have for the past 28 years served to protect and keep safe all citizens of our county, recognizing the trust placed in me with this profoundly important responsibility.
Unfortunately, the recent surge in the numbers of innocent victims who have died at the hands of unstable criminals has prompted politicians in Washington to seek to pass laws that would seriously erode the constitutional rights of innocent and law abiding citizens.
Neither I, nor any of my deputies, will participate in the enforcement of laws that violate our precious constitutional rights, including our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
As long as I remain Sheriff of Collin County, I will not participate in the actions of misguided politicians who seek to impede our citizen’s right to all of the privileges afforded by our Constitution.

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is a Sheriff to be proud of, a man who evidently values the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, and take his oath of office seriously.

Collin County, Texas,,, is just North of Dallas, TX,,,about 35 miles.
It has grown by leaps and bounds, and is clean and modern.
Most residents commute to work in the DFW Metroplex area, and return North to the safety and night calmness of one of the fine smaller cities up there.
Except for several “incorporated” cities within the Dallas area,,,,Dallas is one big shit hole of crime,,, caused mostly by blacks, latinos, and other races.
Spoken by a resident of the area! Imagine that. A Sheriff who actually respects the Constitution and does his best to keep his community clean.

In my extended family, there are enough former and current LEOs, along with those drug in by marriages, to staff a small police department.
They are, men and women, 2nd Amendment supporters. Very few look favorably on the various Federal alphabet agencies. Push comes to shove, they will probably protect their paychecks but will make life difficult for the Feds. No “professional courtesies”, no useful intelligence, no joint SWAT, etc.
I respect their current reticence but know their family, and clan, values will guide their actions. Think Captain Renault in Casablanca.
Bring in the usual suspects.
