Colorado and North Colorado?

Colorado MountainsDon’t think it’s unthinkable.

Rural Coloradans — about 10 counties — are looking at creating a 51st state.

The US Constitution allows secession via a petition to Congress, carving a new state boundary.  It is Congress — not the president — that would have to approve another state.

About 85% of oil and gas production is in this area.

There would then be two more US Senators.  And at least one new US Representative.

Rural Coloradans are completely and overwhelmingly disappointed with the so-called “representation” afforded them at this point.  They are frustrated, angry, and on the cusp of actual action.

Who would argue against?  Many and most.  Mostly Demorats.  Urban metropolitan areas vs agrarian and rural venues.

North Colorado thinks it would yield about 350,000 to 400,000 occupants.  But what would the money part be?

This: no debt.  It would be perhaps an excellent business model to follow.  They forecast an assessed value of roughly $10 billion dollars.

Rural Coloradans to vote on breaking away as 51st state, angered by liberal policies on guns, energy

By Valerie Richardson

DENVER — You’ve got North Carolina and North Dakota, so why not Northern Colorado?

Voters in several rural Colorado counties will be asked whether they want to form a new state tentatively named Northern Colorado in the November election, a reaction to the Democrat-controlled state legislature’s “war on rural Colorado.”

The Weld County Commissioners voted unanimously at Monday’s meeting to place a measure on the Nov. 5 ballot asking voters whether they want the county to join other rural counties in forming another state.

“The concerns of rural Coloradans have been ignored for years,” William Garcia, chairman of the Weld County Commissioners, said in a statement. “The last session was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many people. They want change. They want to be heard.”

A common thought and complaint tacitly and overtly ignored by the Demorats in power currently.  It is no surprise that Fornicalia has a Supermajority of Demorats in the state which means that Conservatives have no voice whatsoever in Sacramento.

Given the complexities involved with creating a state, Mr. Hare said, the Northern Colorado movement is considering two other options: asking Wyoming to annex Colorado’s northern counties or requesting that the state legislature redraw its Senate districts to give a senator to each of the state’s 64 counties, analogous to how the U.S. apportions seats by state, regardless of their populations.

Colorado now has 35 senators in districts drawn by population, giving the state’s urban areas far greater sway in the state legislature.

This major thought:

Can you imagine the precedent set should this move towards fruition in any fashion?  Can you imagine the collective sphincters clenching in DC and various other Leftist bunkers when it may be discovered that agrarian or more rural areas may have a hand in determining their own futures?  And the disparities that would result?

Disparities, you ask?  Yes indeed.  True Conservative states would tend to have the greatest amounts of minerals and resources available to them.  They would also begin to build and rebuild, absent onerous regulations and restrictions, infrastructure to include refineries and electrical generation stations.

This would in turn lead to greater independence from DC.  And that is something those in DC, on both sides of the aisle, cannot countenance.

  1. This is happening in the Northeast corner of the state but is not isolated. The Moffat County Commissioners (extreme Northwest corner of Colorado) are contemplating putting the question on the next ballot.

You can find the same sentiments in Vernal, Utah and most of Western Nebraska around Scottsbluff.
Rural folks are tired of having Progressive politics shoved down their throats on one hand while rural water and resource tax revenues are being diverted to the dense populated areas (read Progressives).

From what I read, much the same sentiments are present in most of New York State.

These folks will not willingly become serfs or proles.

  2. Can’t say that I don’t blame them. So often it’s the politics of the big cities that overrule those that choose to live in the more rural areas and they end up with no representation.

It was the same in New York when I lived there. Down state (New York City areas) set the political tone for the whole state. Up staters, very seldom have a part of who becomes the Governor of that state. It’s overruled by the sheer volume of the voters down state.

  3. It is the clear social re-engineering of the nation. Rural and agrarian areas are populated by nothing more than idiot hicks who don’t realize or recognize the benefits of being shoved into a shoebox for a home and forced into mass transportation for the convenience of the government. Densely populated areas are easier to control, to monitor, to watch by surveillance, and to regulate.

Because, as you well know, all Demorat-run and -controlled big cities are doing so well financially, aren’t they?

  4. This trend is also an unapologetic rejection of UN Agenda 21.

We are revisiting a similar economic circumstance (rural productivity vs. urban consumption) which preceded the civil war. Methods of harvesting resources will once again be criminalized. In the convoluted post modernist (read urban) mindset the elevation of man above animals, and his ability to gather resources, is a crime against nature which trumps crime against man. The battle cry changes but the song remains the same.

The carpetbaggers are already in place. Like a recon force the ICLEI is setting up shop, taking in your dollars, and implementing the anti-humanist UN Agenda 21 across the nation.

Zoom in on Northern Colorado here:

Totally infected. The battle may already be lost.

BZ is right, but they will move you off your land or move others on it.
Read the legends carefully and consider depopulation of the yellow and red zones.

This social re-engineering will include genocide.

  5. Something like this may be exactly what the entire nation needs to see, FREEDOM at work and Americans that are fed up with the Libtard BS and aren’t going to take it anymore…
