Comcast: ANOTHER business leaving Fornicalia

From the Sacramento Business Journal:

Comcast is closing three call centers in California, and moving the jobs to Oregon, Washington and Colorado.

The three centers are in the Natomas area of Sacramento as well as Livermore and Morgan Hill.

The cable company handed out severance packages to its employees after making the announcement to employees this morning at the Sacramento Convention Center.

About 1,000 call center employees will be let go at the three locations, with 300 of them in Sacramento, according to Comcast.

Comcast decided to remove the call center positions from California because of the high cost of doing business, said Andrew Johnson, regional vice president of Comcast California.

Imagine that.  Businesses fleeing the over-regulated atmosphere in Fornicalia.

Just as I prognosticated here and here and here.

    • If history is any indicator, unfortunately, it appears to be somewhat correct. . .

Fornicalia is caustic and its Demorat politicians are corrupt.

  1. I read in an article that many people are leaving California in hordes due to the high cost of living, illegals and basically the state is bankrupt.

It used to be such wonderful place, but since the Dems took over, it’s gone to crap.

  2. Well. lived and worked and based in California for a long time.
    I retired and left.
Many are doing exactly the same.
BZ, because you have a secure home in the West side of the High Sierras, you will retire there and then make your plans to either stick it out,,,,or to move to another location, like yours in another State.
Tough decision, as your present place is presently still serene and safe.
The small towns you shop in feel the same way as you do.
The city thugs don’t want anything to do with the “high sierras”.
But if the big cities all go to shit as their present path points this way,,,well this will affect the small towns supply of daily living needs.
I have a friend up in Happy Camp, and he feels exactly like you.
The serious question now is: Can the small remote towns in California survive when the California big cities go down in flames, riots, and subversive politics??

    • Gotta tell you, MrC, THAT is the biggest question I pose.

Wish I knew the exquisite answer.

All I know is that my wife’s house in Ghetto Centrale is a foregone conclusion. I refuse to invest cash into her house, and she insists on living there.

      Problematic.

  3. Hearing rumbles out of “progressive” circles that the states should take control of county taxing systems and put all collection in the state general revenue stream. Where else can they go now to pay for more free cheese?

Their argument is rural areas produce less taxes than the rural areas consume. Of course, they overlook to output of agriculture/forestry/fisheries that is later taxed downstream.

  4. Pretty soon the only people left here will be starbucks employees and state workers. Teachers/LE/FFD/Politicians/Cal trans…. How cool will that be?

This state is the living example of Obama’s America. I hope the nation realizes how oppressive this state is. New York city bans soda’s. San Fran bans happy meals, Neither state is functioning under the AMERICAN constitution. We have lost the battle to retain our dignity, self respect and our founders vision for our nation.

    • Fornicalia USED to be the shining example for the rest of the nation. Now it’s a hole into which Demorats throw more Free Cheese, solicit illegal immigrants, vacuum taxpayer dollars. Tax and regulate. But let’s not forget free “morning after” pills for 13-year-olds in public schools.
