Depressed Women

Women are more depressed now than at any other time in the history of the United States. The Left, the Right, the Centrists and Moderates pretty much all concur.

Why should that be?

Women have more equality, better wages in the workplace, more freedom, more consideration, more targeted assistance programs, more laws written for, greater populatory percentile, occupy more positions of power, have more children absent male intrusion — than at any other time in recorded history.

Condoleezza Rice, for example, should be the literal Shining Star for Feminism — she is highly educated, a leader, possesses great power as the Secretary of State for the most commanding nation on the planet, she is black, she is single and she is child-less.

Yet she is not held as the epitome of Feminism. Why is that?

At their time of greatest power, why is it that women are more depressed than ever?

  1. Welcome to the whiniest generation. Americans enjoy the greatest personal freedom in the world, enjoy the greatest prosperity in the world, have the greatest medical care at their disposal, have grocery stores in their community that have more food in them on any given day than most in the world will ever see their entire lives. have the best education available to them. so, what do they want? CHANGE!!! they want their Obamessiah to usher in a new era of socialism just like Castro did in Cuba.

  2. Its simple now that women are just another guy (with boobs) they are depressed that guys arent paying attention to them (of course we are but we cant say so because of harrassment) or treating them like ladies (chauvanist pig).

  3. I guess the first 2 comments pretty much covers it.

To put it simply: They’re depressed because they’ve got nothing left to bitch about. 😉 (Of course, that never stops anyone)

  4. AJ: Ingrate Generation. A most perfect phrase, applicable to MY generation perfectly: the Boomers. We had everything handed to us, then we Helicoptered and Hovered over our own kids and, lo an behold: another ruined Ingrate Generation expecting that ALL shall be proffered to them.

  5. Ok..I’m probably gonna get flamed, but oh well. First, I am a woman, and my views are my own.

From what I have gathered over the years is women have realized they have been duped by the feminists and other radicals…that while wanting equality, no one factored in that included things like mowing the grass, etc. The radicals redefined equality, and painted it as superior to.

I was a card carrying, dues paying member of NOW…I pitched a hissy and left before the 3rd year and many others took even longer to come to their senses. The whole movement was bullsh**.

Women don’t like being wrong, and admitting they are is depressing.
I don’t now a single female that doesn’t daily wish they could be full time moms, wives. We don’t resent men and hold them responsible…we resent the Bella’s, Janes, Hillarys, Glorias and others of that ilk that force fed us this BIG lie.

Women effed up..big time, and we know it..the depression is anger about that, turned inward.
    End of rant.

  6. Jo,

I will agree with ya that a lot of women denied their own nature and ignored their nesting instinct due to peer pressure from the libbers. then late in life, regretted that. there is a percentage where that is the case. but, there is also the simple fact that Americans, from the boomer generation forward are spoiled brats, and never matured beyond their jr. high school years. behaving like 12 yr olds all the way into their ’60s. and these spoiled children begat more spoiled children. we have three generations of these emotionally and intellectually immature brats now. my grandparents, on the other hand dealt with the depression shortly after they were married, busted their ass to keep their home, while helping many family members who lost theirs, then dealt with WW2, they didn’t have time to get depressed. nor would they have spent enough time thinking about their selves to GET depressed.

  7. YOu are ALL right…great post, sad subject, but women need to tell men to “open the door, damn it!”

there..that says it all, I think?

  8. Well, I shoulda looked A Jacksonian’s link over before my last comment. His critique of the ingrate generation sums it up perfectly, as always, his posts are… well…always thorough and well though out. I want him for my leader. A Jacksonian for President!

  9. BZ,
GREAT post today! O.K. I am woman hear me whine.. uh.. I mean roar.

I don’t really know what to say other than what has been said, i.e. this post and A Jacksonian. He said it well.

Women have it all and men are the ones being oppressed. Especially white males. (I am not a racist, just stating the truth).

  10. Women are depressed, because manhood and femininity are repressed.

Also this is a statistical inconsistency. When depression diagnoses are on the rise like now, all statistics associated with them have to be heavily scrutinized.

The advent of more antidepressants and the advertisement of such also affect all of this. The baby boomers being a less happy generation, also affects this.

I could go on and on.
