Sheesh, BZ, you are behind the times. The press, tired of being mocked for their lack of knowledge, settled on “bullet feeding devices”. I’m not sure what devices feed bullets so maybe they mean devices to feed firearms bullets. Huge advance in accuracy by the gun grabber crowd.
I thought a BFD was necessary because the media believed bullets were actually hungry. Or Hungary. They didn’t know the difference.

Having to dis-assemble an M1 Garand in 1 minute, then shout out the name of every part, and then re-assemble in 1 minute, and then stand at attention ready for inspection,,,,,,all this in Highland Park High School ROTC, Sophomore year,,,, has made me a true lover of this rifle.
Even today in 2014, this is still a very viable rifle for home defense, hunting, target practice.
I still keep a “clip” handy to show and tell about the WW2 “PING” noise.
