Several things stuck me. First, the cop kept stating that he was “Asking” her not to go to that area. But was he really “asking” her or was he in fact ordering her not to go there under threat of arrest. Also, he kept claiming that if violence occurred, it would be her who was going to be charged with breach of the peace. NOT the people who acted violently in response to her presence, but in fact, her for simply being there. That’s like charging someone with robbery for having their purse stolen with the reason being their purse would not have been stolen if they didn’t carry it in public…so it’s the victim’s fault…not the person who actually committed the crime.
And why would the cop be concerned with a response of violence? I thought islam was the religion of PEACE…is it not?
Best of all, I loved her ending comment…the city was conquered land. The people of this community gave their land away under threat of violence. They are conquered. They deserved neither safety nor security at this point. And of course, what do we know about giving in to threats? That all you will get is more and more threats, until you are pushed out completely. I am so disappointed in the aussies. I thought they were a country of rugged men who stood up for what is right. Crocodile Dundee is somewhere crying right now. That’s not subjugation…this is subjugation.

Bottom line: Whether one considers her to be a ‘right wing troll’ or not does not alter the fact that she was forbidden to enter a public area of a public city because of the religion of the inhabitants and their proven propensity for violence when confronted by any criticism or anyone questioning their religion of peace. In a purportedly free society this ought to be intolerable.

As for watching movies online, it is not illegal, regardless of welltraveled thinks. Movies are, technically, protected by copyright law. Anyone who lived during the nineties will remember the bright green or ominous red FBI warnings that played before the movie on VHS tapes. Intellectual property law deems that it’s illegal to distribute a movie for profit without due permission from the copyright holder. This is where the legal lines blur. Whether you are committing a crime will depend on whether you are streaming, downloading or uploading a movie online.
You may have heard of infamous cases where people were prosecuted for sharing movies or music online. The authorities prosecute people only for distributing movies without permission online. If you download or upload a movie to a streaming website, then you are committing a crime. If you share illegal movies online in return for a profit, you are committing a crime.
However, streaming movies is an entirely different activity. You are not uploading or downloading anything. You are not sharing files with peers for profit or otherwise. You are just watching a movie that someone else has uploaded. You have no way of knowing how the movie got there. These facts make it quite hard for the authorities to prosecute you.
The law, by far, is still unclear when it comes to streaming movies online, or for visiting possibly illegal movie websites. When you stream a movie, your computer makes a temporary copy of the file on your computer. So technically, you are briefly in possession of a possibly illegal copyright material. I notice that welltraveled hasn’t responded to my argument about those that watch movies online and it not being an illegal act. I guess, like all leftist jerks, he can’t argue against the facts, which prove beyond any doubt, that he is WRONG.
In fact, the only person committing illegal acts is him, in his wrongful and slanderous accusations of my being a criminal.
