Sen. Schumer Asks Gun Retailers To Stop Sales As Congress Debates

Obama's Gun Control BeliefFrom CBS.com:

NEW YORK — Sen. Charles Schumer says retailers that sell assault weapons should stop offering them for purchase while Congress discusses gun regulation legislation.

Schumer on Sunday released a letter he sent to major retailers asking for a voluntary moratorium.

The New York Democrat says consumer demand for guns has gone up in the weeks since the December mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.

I wonder why that would be?  It wouldn’t have anything to do with gun control and the possible proscription on guns altogether, would it?

Nah.

Finally, allow me to put it this way: gun sales are safe only as long as talks and debates do continue, prior to the issuance of illegal and freedom-sapping edicts and EOs.

  1. A LOT of gun stores have already stopped selling assault weapons and large capacity clips! Not because of that moron Sen. Charles Schumer however, but because they have run out of them! There are many smaller shops that are hurting financially now because they have next to no stock left of the things that people are looking for. Talk about unintended consequences! Almost makes me want to laugh!

  2. Shumer, he’s one of the problems that’s made NYC, a place that you only visit once in your lifetime!
The ‘big apple” has worms, and he is one of them.

  3. My only visits to the “Big Apple” and her ugly cousins across the river were on business. Won’t spend my own money to go there. Upstate New York is beautiful; too bad for those residents that their lives are governed by the big city/ big money crowd.
