The insanity of California’s Bay Area housing

California is insane.

It’s a psychotic bitch juggling a crate of leaking nitroglycerine.

The state with the worst quality of life, the highest poverty and skyrocketing crime. Courtesy of Leftists and Demorats.

A state where the poor get poorer and the rich get richer, whilst people from China flood the Bay Area, San Jose, Cupertino and Silicon Valley housing markets with cash in order to scoop up houses for $1.7 million dollars that would otherwise sell, in a sane state, for $110,000.

Because, oh, by the way, you can’t own property in China.

“Middle Class” in California? What’s that?

Watch this if you doubt anything I’ve written.

Now do you believe me?

California is insane.

  1. Not sure what the problem is. If you are lucky enough to have already owned a home there, and you now find yourself where you can sell it and pocket a million bucks or more…well, you won. Take the cash, move to a place where you can buy a beautiful and decently large home for under $200k…in cash and no mortgage, invest the rest, and live the rest of your life enjoying it.

If you can’t afford to buy a home there…then leave. Vote with your feet. Nostalgia and wanting to live near where you grew up is no reason to go broke trying to put a roof over your head. And I don’t care how much money you make, if you can’t afford to live there, than it’s not a good job. Go somewhere where you can get a job, where you make less, but where you can at least afford to live there. Making $200K a year in a place where the homes sell for over a million dollars versus making $80K a year, where you can buy a nice home for under $200K. If you can’t see which decision is the smart one…well, maybe you ain’t worth your salary.

And as for that realtor guy who claimed that this area will never burst its bubble…to that I say…really? Trust me, the hype will end, and all those chinese investors will end up eating it.

I live in the area where Scripps was supposed to be built. It was all but a done deal. The permits issues, the land was cleared, the buildings where going up, the infrastructure building was underway, and home prices were getting stupid. Homes that cost $70K were selling for over half a million, and I saw many chinese investors buying up everything…and BOOM!!!!!!!!

I saw foreclosures everywhere. The sellers who sold quickly and got out made out great. The sellers who got greedy and held out, rejecting offers waiting for top dollar lost out, and those buyers who thought there was no end to how high the prices would go, well, they took a bath and lost a fortune. Every bubble bursts eventually. Just like that Tulip mania the Dutch people experienced in the 1600’s, and every other insane bubble market…they all burst. The trick is to get in and out before it goes “POP”. Like a financial game of musical chairs. You can only hope to be sitting when the music stops.

  2. Get out of mexafornia as soon as you can.
As long as the libturds are running the guberrmint in this state there will NOT be a time where anything will get better in mexafornia.
This state is turning into a fifth world crap hole country.
Go to sf and walk around the down town area, you will know you are there because you will be able to follow the stench with your nose and eyes.
mexafornia the sanctuary state, bah, humbug, a state full of wankers that what they really are.

    • My problem is that the wife can’t just retire yet. And contrary to what you hear and read in the American Media Maggots, when I retired after 41 years in law enforcement, I lost my medical as well. No, not all California cops get medical in perpetuity. CHP does, however.

Gotta wait for the wifely wife to pull the plug.

      • That is one of the issues with the country, no national health care.

I was really surprised to read that California has the highest state poverty. I did a bit of research on that statistic.

    • Moffett. How cool. You got to watch the weather build up in the Zeppelin hangar. Other people didn’t know I have my very own hangar.

  3. California is for sale. Chicoms are the largest demographic buying SFRs. In Orange County in SoCal, in 2016, 63% of all home sales were to Chinese nationals. Many paid in cash. They use the EB-5 visa for all it’s worth and then some (‘pregnacy homes’ and half-way houses to transition illegal aliens into American society). I’ve never seen so many ‘cousins’ in one family.

  4. Our Son lives and works in the mountains on the Eastern Sierras side.
Still nice there in Bishop, CA.
Low population, high altitude, mostly Federal land to hunt, fish, and recreate on.
The only bad thing is this,,,,,,it is still presently part of California.

    • My cabin is 1.5 hours away from Sacramento in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is my last bastion of sanity. The town is minuscule, you can still leave your car running when you go to the store, and it’s not popular with tourists. Perfect.
