  1. When my property is no longer mine, that is a problem. When promises aren’t kept and they lead to our fiscal, national and then global doom that is a problem. When we not only refuse to stop spending but stop spending at a geometric rate, that’s a problem. When I begin to worry about my own personal free speech, that’s a problem. When my country won’t keep me safe, that’s a problem. When my government wants to run most every aspect in my life down to what I ingest, what I wear, where my thermostat is set in my house, what color my car is, if I can even have a car, where I can go, how I can sit in an aircraft, and even if I can make a doctors appointment to keep my skin free of cancer, that’s a problem.

I’m afraid revolution is in fact in our future. I have no idea in what form it may manifest. I massively hope that it does NOT take on a violent aspect. But clearly, my government, YOUR government, is not listening and REFUSES to listen.

  2. You are already on the path—you don’t own your home, just stop paying the property taxes and the landlord will evict you and family—try boarding a plane with a bottle of water, try boarding without a picture ID—try seeing the doctor of your choice in a year or two—try driving your car without insurance—try smoking in some towns in CA—try smoking in a bar—try driving without your seat belt—and try living your life as you see fit without Big Brother telling you, NO!

Speaking of revolution, I wrote a very short post sometime back on just how I think it will begin: Revolution.

  3. Man, I need to go lie down now.
This is getting scary…but where the hell else CAN we go? *(pardon me, but, really…)

  4. Yeah, the party of ‘NO’ that got us into this economic mess being in the pockets of corporations and the party who got us into these lousy wars and have NEVER kept us safe, who shredded the Constitution and civil liberties, who would deny health care for it’s constituents based on death panel lies wants a ‘second revolution.’ Gimme a friekin break, you shameless liars!

Keep it up with the loony tea bag mentality, it will further split the GOP and ensure a Dem victory in 2010, 2012, 2014…

  5. BZ,
I am in a comment war with a lib on another site. I made reference to the Revolution and its bearing on what’s happening today. The reluctance of the colonists to split with GB was evident in their attempt to reconcile even after the shooting began in April 1775. The D of I date is July 4, 1776. They tried to reconcile but GB’s continued tyranny forced the revolution. It’s happening now.

I told her it’s not about Obama it’s about out of control government and the people’s need to rein it back in. She didn’t get it. That doesn’t surprise me.

    Great video.

  6. It’s insufficient to be mad as hell and against what currently is.

Our forefathers shared a common vision of what was “to be”. I’d advise all 2nd revolutionaries to be “perfectly clear” as to what “must be in the future” before joining any angry mob.

  7. The two party system running a Zero Party State is coming to its conclusion. Both the D and R parties are seeing internal disaffection and growing dissatisfaction with the Zero Party State run by the two party elites. What you get from that is not a permanent majority for either party, and when candidates that don’t run to a ‘party line’ (although they may have a party letter after their name) are elected, the structure that grew up post-Cold War thaws and dissolves. You do not have to have a third party by NAME to have a third party by ACTION, and that is what is getting to the elite structure of both parties.

This is not anything like we expect, even though the outlines are becomeing clear. Both parties are suffering retirements, early retirements, for Incumbistani Emirs in DC. People at home are PO’d at their representatives and this is getting concentrated in the D party districts as they are the ones in majorities… that does not bode well for the D party who spoke great things of economic responsibility and then squandered the economy with programs that don’t work leaving the fundamentals worse off a year on than they were when they started.

The R party has squandered its good will, and those who have tried to get any fiscal sanity in the party have been marginalized by the swell guys who want to ‘manage’ government growth. In other words, they want a larger and more officious government, just not as fast as the D party does.

There are, perhaps, 30 seats or so in the House on the D side that will be contested and a good chance that a portion of them, 20 or so, will flip. That is the ‘majority’ of the House gone. In the Senate the supermajority is already threatened, and one vote removes it. With 3-5 votes delta out of both parties switching to a fiscally conservative view (no matter party letter) the ‘majority’ for more government is on hard times as you can’t appeal to those that want less government with more government style bribes.

A House and Senate with intra-D party divisions is a deadlocked Congress and those members picking up Independent support will not need party largesse to survive. That is also true on the R-side and I don’t expect the current leadership in that party to last past this election.

And if you can get one or two candidates running on the Immodium-D Platform, then expect all hell to set in stone Upon the Hill as its verbal excess turns to instant constipation and no passing of bills, whatsoever. That last is legal, is civil and can get you a revolution like you wouldn’t believe.

  8. DB: actually, turned out the previous admin wasn’t SUFFICIENTLY the party of NO. As in, NO we won’t do more to stop illegal invaders; NO we won’t make our ports safer; NO, we won’t INSIST that the replacement of AAGs was proper and that they sit at an admin’s pleasure; NO, we won’t be making much if any use of our VETO; and, mostly, NO, we won’t be wielding the power we have at the time we have it.

And DB, you just TRY doing without businesses or corporations. But first, instead of Mr Bush with his first TARP or Mr Obama with his TARPII and PORKULUS — none of which resulted in actual BENEFITS to the TAXPAYERS — we should have just let business and institutions find their OWN equilibrium via bankruptcy. And we would have SAVED BILLIONS and BILLIONS and, actually, TRILLIONS of current and future dollars.

FJ, you make a good point. Does this strike just a bit close to home in SA?

  9. BZ SAID: “I told her it’s not about Obama it’s about out of control government and the people’s need to rein it back in. She didn’t get it. That doesn’t surprise me.”

That’s total BS. And your first post is so full of shit it’s almost funny in its utter lunacy.

Why weren’t you as outraged when Bush was really doing damage to the Constitution? No, it’s because there is a black man in the office and you guys won’t be happy until your violence inciting rhetoric motivates an assassination. Losers.

  10. DB- I’d have tried to say it a little nicer, but I think your absolutely right. If Obama upsets the applecart too fast the real power behind the throne will give him a “Kennedy Haircut, Dallas style”. They love keeping Teabaggers whipped up. It takes attention away from them. Notice how the bankers still get their bonuses paid with our money? They would love nothing better than to install Biden in the driver’s seat. Now there’s a guy who knows how to take orders. Just shut up, do what we tell you, and keep the genpop scared about terrorism so we can continue to clean up.

  11. And where is the outrage on the Left that Obama has not corrected these transgressions against the Constitution?

If you claim sanctity for the document, then share the outrage all the way around and ensure that all those defiling it and not correcting the mistakes are implicated. Hold one standard for ALL without exception, and you have a leg to stand on. Blame one and not the other, and you have nothing but partisan outrage and an unwillingness to work to correct the problem when it is continued by someone YOU SUPPORT. And if you do support that person and they continue the defilement and you can’t denounce them, then you are a pure hack.

Or is it perfectly acceptable to keep on bashing someone with a supposed problem that you do not care enough about to FIX?

    Which is it?

A defilement of our Constitutional liberty that must be corrected at all costs?

Or a partisan hack job to bash around with because it isn’t worth fixing?

Show me the transgression, describe it to me and tell me why it is a transgression, and the we can find a way to begin fixing it. Or see if any fix is needed at all. You cannot fix a problem by yelling at people, I’ve seen the results of that with men on soapboxes in various parts of the Nation. Doesn’t get them anywhere, although it might help their blood pressure. To fix something that is bigger than you, you need help. You don’t get that by insulting people.

And if you ask for help by explaining the problem and someone tells you that it isn’t a problem and explains why they don’t think it is, then screaming at them will not convince them of anything. Insulting people you need to work with doesn’t work. Screaming at them won’t get you help. Civility and reason can get you a hearing and if others reason differently they expect politeness to be heard out on what they think on a topic you raise. That is how we build and protect society, in case it has been missed.
