Your loving Demorats & Leftists at work again: “MSNBC Ridicules Romney for Collecting Food and Supplies for Hurricane Sandy Victims”

From NewsBusters.org:

This one is really hard to believe, even for the most biased so-called “news network” in the nation.

MSNBC on Tuesday totally trashed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for collecting food and supplies at a storm rally event in Ohio to be sent to victims of Hurricane Sandy (video follows with transcript and commentary):

But here’s the best part:

Host Martin Bashir said, “Mayor Reed, so the Red Cross knows what it’s doing. Did he, did you detect perhaps a subtle dig there on Mr. Romney who spent today going against the guidelines established by the Red Cross and holding a campaign rally in Ohio that was dressed up like a charity drive collecting food and other supplies when the Red Cross expressly asked people not to do that?”

And isn’t that just like Leftists to support the Red Cross and its One Way Grip on “how things ought to be” in an emergency?  The Red Cross SAYS you, as an individual, cannot gather food and clothing and begin organizing yourself.

That’s one reason I don’t contribute to the Red Cross.  This is another.

Just as with elitist views of Demorats and Leftists, only they know what’s best for you.  Only they know how to do things properly.  Only they believe in themselves and the power of the government.  They do not believe in relief at a lower level, at citizens helping themselves (as those in Ohio did, in re Mr Romney).

America, aren’t you tired of all this elitist Demorat “I know better than you” pap?

That Mr Romney: Evil Incarnate for attempting to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

  1. That is EXACTLY why so many of us DO NOT watch that hack journalism crap! If MSNBC was the only channel on TV, I would have absolutely no reason to own one and my electric bill would be much less.

The last time I had dealings with the red cross was in 1969. I was on temporary duty in Fort Rucker Alabama during Hurricane Camille (if I remember correctly). We were making a training film for helicopter repairmen when it hit. Forget the film, we need sandbags!! Well, after a LONG day in the rain filling THOUSANDS of sandbags, imagine my surprise and DISGUST when I went to get a coffee and a sandwich at the RC tent across the field from us, and found out that they were CHARGING for them??!!!! Not asking for a donation, CHARGING! For the past 43 years, I have not given the RC 1 f###ing cent and not 1 F###ing drop of my blood! I used to give blood every month and donations quite often. I guess it cost them a bit more than they tried to SQUEEZE out of me that day. ASSHOLES!

    • I donate to the Red Cross — as you read — just as much as I donate to United Way. Which = 0.

You have but another reason for this.

  2. They don’t get any money from me.
Do you know the Red Cross must confirm a death/serious life threatening injury of a service members family before the military will act on it?
Want to see an organization spring into action in an emergency? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. No, I’m not LDS. Here we see Romney doing what he has learned to do his entire life.

  3. Agreed.
My old man worked as a lineman for Indianapolis Power and Light Company and frequently found himself in far-away places repairing power lines.
His observation was that the Salvation Army always showed up more quickly, with a better attitude, and did a more efficient job of providing needed help.
I give blood to the ARC, but like you, I’ll never give ’em a cent… nor a good word.

  4. It is my understanding that Romney frequently opens his wallet and helps people. That’s one of the wonderful part about Mormonism in practice.

I’m not a Mormon. In fact, I have a major dispute with LDS theology. But I can see past my nose and appreciate the good that Mormons do.

That MSNBC ridicules personal charity is to be expected. That network is a strong advocate of big government. And big government hates charity on an individual basis because such charity always shows government handout for the failures that they are.

  5. AOW, you would be correct. I too am not LDS but I can see the “giving” portion of Mr Romney — his charitable contributions exceed those of Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid and a continuing cast of Demorats. Yearly.

And government handouts ARE failures; further, they’re dangerous and racist.

  6. The LEFT knows NO shame, there is NO level of denigration to which they will not sink…

Regarding the Red Cross, I wouldn’t give them a penny…

Several years ago Jarrell, TX was inundated by a HUGE tornado, the town was nearly wiped off the map… I offered to donate the Red Cross the use of a Class 8 18-wheeler, fully fueled, with a driver, ALL at MY expense so that they could get relief supplies to Jarrell ASAP…

The Red Cross, Dallas Chapter, told me, point blank: “We don’t need YOU, your truck, your driver or anything else, we KNOW what we’re doing and all we need is your money… ”

Since that time I have given exactly NOTHING to the Red Cross.. I was in business, I had equipment and I could offer that level of service, I wasn’t *flush* with cash but I was trying to ALL I could…

The Red Cross and ALL of it’s members can individually or collectively, KISS MY TEXAS ASS!

    • You AGAIN make my point of the Red Cross and for that matter, the federal government:

WE know what is best for YOU, you DON’T know what is best for you, and WE know HOW to parse out someone’s ELSE’s money BETTER than you — so STFU and just send your hard-earned CASH.

Ditto: the Red Cross can kiss MY hairy Caucasoid arse as well.

  7. I bypass ALL these money grubbing assholes because I have seen their “overhead” costs.
NOTHING gets to the people in need. Maybe 1%!!!!
    Except for the Salvation Army.
They are honest, and I give to them.
All the rest can go straight to HELL!
