If ISIS presence equates with control then they look to control of a fair bit of river real estate, no? Part of the plan perhaps, control the water and all else follows?

They planned to control the dam and that didn’t quite work out so perfectly. But they are rolling mostly unimpeded from the bulk of the world’s westernized countries.

There are those who say let the ME take care of itself, we should stay out of it and let them solve their own problems. Ordinarily I would feel the same way but not this time. They have one stated aim and it does not bode well for Western Civilization. There are too many porous borders in America and in Europe where isis sympathizers can freely cross. And probably already have. Not to mention homegrown sympathizers. I doubt America or Europe has much to fear, AT THE MOMENT, from an actual invasion by an army of isis (what a perversion of the name of a perfectly good goddess) but that is small comfort considering the mayhem they could wage by other subversive means which would be very difficult to combat. isis plays by its own rules. They are waging medieval ages warfare and the modern world seems unwilling or unable to decide how to handle this.
How many centuries old Europe fought against the Turks and islam and then in the 20th century just forgot it all and allowed, nay, encouraged, ‘guest workers’ who were moslem and let them remain. How many of them would gladly rise up to support the isis quest for the caliphate? I hope I never find out.
