It’s fact, it’s right in front of our faces and — yes — desired by the Left. As introduced by Demorat Jose Serrano of NY:
U.S. Rep. Josè Serrano, D-N.Y., once again quietly introduced a resolution that would allow President Obama or any president to serve an unlimited number of terms, according to a report.
According to GovTrack.US, Rep. Serrano introduced House Joint Resolution 15 on Friday. The resolution is described as:
“Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”
This resolution was assigned to a congressional committee on January 4, 2013, which would have to consider it before it would be sent to the House or Senate.
The bill was a reintroduction of House Joint Resolution 17 presented by Rep. Serrano in 2011. That resolution was never sent to committee.
So: why not allow an unlimited number of presidential terms?
Because, in my opinion, the wants of the bulk of the electorate just became abundantly clear this past November of 2012: give us more state and federal FREE CHEESE. The parasites in the country are, now, roughly numerically on par with the hosts. The producers and the consumers. Taxpayers and non-taxpayers.
The national hard drive has been corrupted: corrupted by the elitist Worms in DC and the spreading Virus of Free Cheese.
Don’t you find it odd that the only persons who want the 22nd Amendment abolished are those on the Left? And don’t you find it odd that the only presidential term under which the bill is introduced is that of Mr Obama’s?
Because, after all, there’s never any veracity to those incredibly crazy and suspect Right Wing Conspiracy Theories.
Is there?

P.S.
The 22nd Amendment reads, in full:
Amendment XXII
Section 1.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.
Section 2.
This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several states within seven years from the date of its submission to the states by the Congress.
Nice cartoon. Where did you find that?
Yes, the left want us to have a President for Life.
WSF, people send me many things via e-mail.
My e-mail: bz@reagan.com
And yes, you’re correct.
It’s not about whether or not it’s FIRM that Obaka will be able to repeal the 22nd; it’s about the INTENT to repeal the 22nd.
For complete control. For totalitarianism.

As much as I hate the asshole in the White House, this is a recurring theme that has been brought up many many times since the 22nd was passed. Both Democrats and Republicans have introduced it even when their party did not have the Presidency. Even Mitch McConnell has brought it up–several times. Some people just hate the idea of term limits. I think they are the best thing since sliced bread and they should be applied to ALL branches of government! These assholes are supposed to be doing a civic duty, NOT carving themselves out a f###ing career! Two terms are MORE than enough.
Agreed.
But you and I both know that the idea will ONLY be embraced by Leftists — openly — because they are in league with the Media/Government Complex.
As far are they’re concerned, “the time is right” — NOW.
As in: before now, have people advocated this in a way that seemed to embrace a national movement?
No. I suspect not.

I should mention that these attempts never even get out of committee alive and that is why we generally never even hear about them. As hard as it is to pass an amendment to the Constitution, it is even harder to repeal one. If they did manage it this time, which I HIGHLY doubt, it would most definitely usher in the revolution that has been mentioned quite often lately. On that, there is NO doubt!
I would agree.
But remember the so-called “flag burning amendment”?
I was AGAINST that as well, because it would open a Constitutional Congress that I was NOT willing to consider.
This isn’t about it WILL HAPPEN —
It’s about the length and breadth of what Leftists are willing to CONSIDER. . .
BZ
Oh, I know you’re right BZ. There are a bunch of free-cheesers just salvating at the idea that NOMObama can be Pres forever and keep the supply of freebies open forever, BUT, they don’t have a F###ing clue about how the Constitution works. They think it’s a breeze to keep him in office, but we know better. It would take 38 states to ratify the change–and I do not envision seeing that in our lifetimes. We have more than 12 RED RED RED states to stop it.
That’s absolutely correct — in their ignorance.
But I submit it isn’t ignorance that matters, now, these days. . .
It’s only about the EMOTIONS that can generated in order to RESTRICT freedoms.
All it would take is one EO — and the rest of Congress to BACK IT and the rest of the nation to ACCEPT IT BLINDLY.
An illegal law means EVERYTHING if it is tacitly accepted and unchallenged.
BZ
“A law means NOTHING if it is accepted and unchallenged.”
I will NOT accept it, and neither would you and millions of other REAL Americans. That is why I mentioned the outcome if they ever did manage to get it done illegally. It won’t be pretty!
Heh, I just reread what the broad was telling the bear in the cartoon. Weird how our gubbermint doesn’t want us feeding the animals for fear that they won’t know how to fend for themselves, but, that is EXACTLY what they want for people. Sad part is that they can’t even see just how vile that is. God, I hate libturds!
BINGO!

Except for the presidency I spent my life dead set against term limits. I fell into the trap that the voting booth was in itself term limits. It was about five years ago that I started to change my view. I now believe it should be applicable to the House and the Senate.
What better proof is there than what has happen to our country the past ten years. It’s obvious that the dead meat needs to be cleaned out of both houses!
Of course, those that make the laws aren’t about to shoot themselves in the foot.
Naturally, Scotty. They’re all predominantly much better and much more important than you and I, mere proles.
