From Breitbart: Journalist Accosted by Security over Mayor Bloomberg Gun Control Question

In an explosive exchange outside the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington, D.C., security guards for billionaire New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg accosted senior Talk Radio Network investigative reporter Jason Mattera when he asked the mayor about his strong support for gun control.

Jason Mattera boldly makes the point:

In the video, Bloomberg is seen surrounded by security. Mattera approaches Bloomberg and asks, “In the spirit of gun control, will you disarm your entire security team?”

Bloomberg’s reply:  “Uh, you, we’ll get right back to you.”

“Why can you defend yourself but not the majority of Americans?” Mattera asks as the mayor walks away. “Look at the team of security you’ve got.  And you’re an advocate for gun control?”

In a nutshell — once again — it’s Government Elitists vs, essentially, everyone else.

Because, despite all of New York’s gun laws, you can be guaranteed that those NYPD officers are carrying, at minimum, the Glock 17 in 9mm.  I’ll wager the magazines carried by those duly sworn officers are not limited to 7 rounds.  I’ll wager they’re not limited to 10 rounds.  I’ll wager they’re carrying the Full Meal Deal Glock 17 magazine (hence the name): SEVENTEEN rounds.  Glock, by the way, is the standard issued sidearm now for Patrol Officers of the NYPD — the Glock 19, with 15 rounds in a magazine and 17-round magazines available.  My guess is that — in the security vehicle and those trailing — there are available fully automatic weapons as well, to include suppressed MP5s, short shotguns (below 18″ barrels) for CQB and possibly machine pistols.

Screen Shot 20130128 at 115300 AM Bloomberg argues that guns “make us less safe.”  If that is a Truism, then why does he surround himself with a minimum of five (and if you look closely at the video, even more) NYPD-paid officers — a security contingent — for one person?  And they, naturally, accompany him no matter where he goes or does — 24/7.  People are also asking: what were the limits of Bloomberg’s detail with regard to Mattera?

Katie Pavlich even asked: “Mayor Bloomberg, will you give up your security detail?”  Uh, no.

How about you?  Your “personal contingent?”  Your ability to carry a personal sidearm?  Is it lawful in your state?  And if it is, “do you carry?”  I’m a cop in one of the most restricted states in the union and — hell yes — I carry.

Mayor Bloomberg, by the way, rides in a Cadillac Escalade as indicated here.  It’s not a Prius or a Leaf or anything advocated by Leftists.  Like the President’s limousine, it’s a huge vehicle with terrible gas mileage.  And BTW, Mr Obama’s The Beast gets 8 mpg. A history of presidential vehicles here.  And check the thickness of the door of Mr Obama’s limousine below — looks like the door to a 767 or a bank vault, does it not?

Barack ObamaSo for those on the Left who bleat and squawk about guns and their abhorrent forms: let’s just apply that equation to everyone in the United States, shall we?

Oh no, we shan’t.  Because the Leftists want their dachas and their perks and their exclusivity and their gated communities and their security.

To keep them separate from — purposely — YOU.  The Proles, the Groundlings, the Massively Unwashed, the Unworthy, the Commoners.

Mr Bloomberg doesn’t answer to Jason Mattera.  He doesn’t answer to you.  He doesn’t answer to me.  He doesn’t answer to ANYONE who will throw him anything other than the most powder-puff of softballs.  Like Obaka: you must wear a Nerf Suit before prostrating oneself before the Leftist Chosen Ones.

Mr Bloomberg and his NYPD Chosen Ones proved that in this video.

A question for any NYPD line-level patrol officer reading this blog: compare your working conditions and salary to those assigned to Bloomberg’s Detail.  Any difference, perchance?

I thought so.

  1. “How about you? Your “personal contingent?” Your ability to carry a personal sidearm? Is it lawful in your state? And if it is, “do you carry?” I’m a cop in one of the most restricted states in the union and — hell yes — I carry”.

I need to answer this. No, as I am not allowed to carry. I have a perfectly clean record and it is lawful to get a conceal carry permit in Hawaii. However, that is total BS as the police chief won’t issue any to a civilian. Each county has its own chief and mine, at least, won’t issue the permit. His attitude is that the police will protect you….sure! I plan on moving pretty soon for a number of reasons and it is going to be to a state where I can carry and I will do so. Sorry, BZ, I will not be moving to California as that would be like moving from the frying pan to the fire.

    • For the record I was not denied one as I did not apply because none are ever approved. The only person I know who has one here is a cop and he is the one who certifies people to be permitted to buy a handgun. You all should know it is quite a process to buy a handgun here. It involves multiple trips to the police station and includes mug shots and 2 sets of fingerprints of all the fingers of both hands.

    • Nor, hgpsurf, would I even REMOTELY recommend coming to Fornicalia. BTW, perhaps it bears repeating, I term my state “Fornicalia” because no matter how you interact with the state, it WILL fuck you. And it has no concept whatsoever of, at least, the application of some type of proper lubricant for the slightest ease of a vile and violent insertion.

And yes, in Fornicalia as well, some agencies will issue CCW permits more readily than others. These days it is — duh — becoming much more difficult in the state. No shock there.

    • And that road, Fred, goes ever on and will never stop. They’re Leftists. They have “theirs” and everyone else can go straight to Hell. That is, also, becoming the predominant meme of the Republican Party as well.
