The ramdown on the horizon: Demorats want to force doctors to take Medicare and Medicaid

ObamaCare DoctorsFrom MasonConservative.com:

Virginia Democrat calls for forcing doctors to accept Medicare and Medicaid patients

You would think that when your party is burying a hole that is getting harder and harder to get out of, you wouldn’t want to that hole get deeper faster.  But here is Kathleen Murphy, Democrat running for the House of Delegates against Barbara Comstock, telling a forum in Great Falls that she believes it should be a law to force doctors to accept Medicare and Medicaid patients.  Forced by government decree, mind you.

After all, some of the best things are the result of force; ObamaKare, for example.  Socialism.  Taxes.  The Holocaust.

THIS along with the fact that Terry McAuliffe has already said he’d go to the government shutdown mat to get a state exchange in Virginia.  Unbelievable.  Combine the chaos of thousands of people across Virginia losing their health insurance, we are going to add to that on the state level by forcing doctors to accept patients they can’t afford to help?  Unbelievable.  Dark days are ahead, but there is still time.    Three days to make sure this does not happen.

Democrats in Virginia will drive up health care costs, drive doctors out of the state, and then drive health care costs up even more because there will not be enough doctors practicing in the state.

The best part yet to come?  Of course, you know where I’m going, because my job is to do what I call The Logical Extension.  And that is this:

If it’s a good idea for Virginia to mandate that all doctors take Medicare and Medicaid, then an idea such as that deserves its own bill from the Big Dogs in DC, does it not?  If force is good for Virginia, then imagine such a thing nationally; wouldn’t it be glorious?  Because everyone knows the US government pays so quickly and with such efficiency and courtesy for Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Those evil, evil doctors, making millions of dollars, driving their Bentley Arnages and wearing Gucci loafers.

At this rate, doctors won’t volunteer to go through medical school; they’ll be appointed.  And to be fair, it’ll be every 10th baby born in any given hospital on a given day.  That’ll be equitable, won’t it?

P.S.
You need to read this article, in regard to the number of doctors ready to leave the profession as the result of ObamaKare.

  1. I had some major surgery some years back, it was covered under the Veterans Administration and Tricare (retired military insurance) A few weeks after the surgery I got a bill for $8500 in the mail from the surgeon. I called the office and was told it was merely the way the computers were programmed and not to worry about it as I was fully covered.

This went on for six months until the doctor was finally paid by my “government” insurance. He had to wait SIX MONTHS to get paid!! And they wonder why the doctors aren’t anxious to jump on board??!!

    • My father, who passed in 2009, had Tricare through FIVE major operations in his late 80s. I received the bills and accounted for his paperwork. He paid nothing. That was then.

Medicare and Medicaid — yes, doctors say they are paid at the government’s leisure — very leisurely.

No wonder that doctors are not motivated to embrace the federal government, when the doctors provide a service UP FRONT and then must fight to get paid.

  2. That sounds like a good way to make sure your Doctor gives you the best healthcare possible (NOT). I can see a lot of them becoming robots and spending as little time with patients as possible, a really great way to make healthcare even better than it was (NOT)!!!! What kind of morons do some voters send to D.C.? We need to take the vote away from a shitload of idiots!

    • I’ll use a phrase that defense attorneys like to use: “chilling effect.”

Something like this mandate — and Obamacare itself — is and will have a “chilling effect” upon those persons who WERE considering medical school. Why pay thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars for medical school, a lengthy internship working 24/7, and then NOT get paid for your work or get told there will a cap on what you can make, what you can do, how you can do it, and to whom you dance?

This is the beginning of the PERFECT way to kill motivation for those wishing to become doctors — unless you see The BZ Way coming.

  3. Not to worry, the government will bring in foreign doctors from countries where the average income is a whole lot lower to make up the lack. They’ll think they’re in heaven.

    • Yes, the perfect world, just like the “healthcare” in my department’s jail system, where few of the nurses speak English, can’t be understood, and are subject to any number of suits for poor care. Like that?
