USMC: no bolts allowed in their rifles during Obama’s inaugural

Yes, I am a bit late to this party, but I post what I can when I am made aware.

First, the photo that confirms:

Marines at 2013 Pres Inaugural -- NO BOLT IN RIFLESecond: check the website of BobOwens.com:

David Codrea has revealed that President Obama has so little regard for the United States Marines risking their lives under his command life that they were forced to dismantle their already empty parade rifles for his second inauguration parade. This is nothing less than a slap in the face of the Corps:

“Didn’t know the Marines had to take the bolts out of their rifles for the Inaugural,” an email forwarded to Gun Rights Examiner from a United States Marine Corps source observed. “Wonder if someone can explain why [they] would be marching in the inaugural parade with no bolts in their rifles!”

The email linked to a YouTube video of the 57th Presidential Inaugural Parade, embedded in this column, featuring Bravo Company Marines from the Marine Barracks Washington. Sure enough, the observation in the email is confirmed by watching the video, with screen shots provided in the photo and slide show accompanying this article.

Question for you: do you think that was a decision made at a USMC level, or was it a decision made at an — ahem — “higher” level?  I’d like my military readers to weigh in.  I know what my thought is.  .  .

  1. As anyone who reads my stuff know, I’m no fan of POTUS. That said, many veterans have reported no bolts during earlier administrations. Think this one belongs to the Secret Service. Doubt if Obama even knows what a rifle bolt is, or would recognize one if he saw it.

    • And thank you for that. I was unsure. Don’t know if it was standard or an uncommon thing. In this photo it seems quite obvious.

Anyone have any further corroborating material either pro or con?

      P.S.
And yes, I’m sure Mr Obama thinks a bolt is something that belongs on the other end of a nut.

Wait; no, that’s wrong. That would mean he would have some kind of mechanical competency.

Belay that thought, mateys; Obama thinks a bolt is something that lightning “does.”

  2. O’butthole scared someone in the Military will assassinate him.
He is paranoid, as all communists are.
    Simple as that!

  3. I’ve never been involved in an inauguration parade; however, I’ve been in parades up to and including Division level change of command. None of the brass ordered bolts removed. None of the enlisted tried to shoot anyone in or near the parades. It’s called fire discipline.

  4. I am pretty sure this was a decision made by the SS… Marines are NOT murderers.. Trained killers? Indeed… Life takers and heart breakers? Oh hell yes… But I would be crushed if a Marine assassinated Obama, even as much as I personally hate the bastard…

  5. Never had to remove any parts for any type of parade; I’d bet money that it was the Secret Service’s requirement, or perhaps another member of the administration? Biden is about as smart as my coffee table, so I wouldn’t put it past him. It would be interesting to hear from someone that has marched in an inaugural parade…

  6. Well, if Obama can’t trust the Marines not to shoot him then he can’t trust them to side with him if he wants to get really ugly with the American citizenry. I bet he wouldn’t trust Michelle with a rifle unless the bolt was removed.
