MSM in state of apoplexy over rumors Koch Bros interested in Tribune Co.

From the BlackSphere.net:

For far too long the Main Stream Media has smugly assumed they had all print and broadcast news sewn up neatly in their Lefty pockets.

But for the past week rumors that the Koch brothers are taking a long look at buying the Tribune Company has spread like wild fire in a pine-beetle ravaged forest.

Media Matters Joe Strupp writes that the scary idea of the brothers buying Tribune is:

…sparking concerns from newspaper staff members that attempts to influence the editorial process in favor of their far-right political views may follow.

Among those concerned is Clarence Page, a top Chicago Tribune columnist, who said he would oppose a takeover of the paper by David and Charles Koch because of “the fact that they seem to be coming in upfront with the idea of using a major news media as a vehicle for their political voice.

Moderates or even — gulp — Rightists getting “control” of another media outlet?

Say not so!

  1. I have a friend here in Rowlett that has his finger on the pulse of the economy and he’s damned good at what he does, but sometimes he gets a bit of BAD information…

A while back he told me that his sources were telling him that NBC and MSNBC were BOTH about to conduct a massive *house cleaning* and would soon be further on the RIGHT than FOX News…

I told him he was full of shit, and then they fired Keith Olbermann and I thought, “well, maybe they are”..

But Olbermann was where it ended and firing one moonbat MORON does not make a Conservative network…

I’m taking a *wait and see* position on this one…

    • It’s interesting but, yes, I’ll believe it when I see it.

However, whose ratings are consistently highest? Who has the ad rate revenue? Fox.

  2. I heard about this on NPR this morning. The reporters who were doing the story made it very clear they didn’t see how a Koch brothers/Tribune relationship could work. While I was listening, all I could think of is how ironic it was that news organizations with such a liberal bias could possibly be purchased by a conservative/libertarian conglomerate.

  3. Leftists are losers.
    Always have been.
    Always will be.
Now with these “ground rules”, making decisions quickly, really becomes easy to do!
