A message to Mr Obama, from “just a kid”

Obama NoteOne of my co-workers showed me the above note this morning, one that his seven-year-old daughter had written to our president, after she heard her mother and father discussing home finances.  I’d submit it’s succinct and rather eye-opening.

It reads, in all it’s seven-year-old glory:

Dear oboma

my name is Audrey _____ a kid and I herd your new law last nite and I know you are fiting for some pepeol but my Mom and Dad have to work extra hard to pay for those people who don’t work P.S. do you think other people shod get things without deserving it and one more your new law maks my parents work super hard to pay for that and taxes to

Sinsely Audrey just a kid

Frankly, I think Audrey displays intelligence far beyond that of many adults today.  She understands how things really work.

Audrey is an outstanding young student and a beautiful child. She needs positive reinforcement to understand that while she perceives that this president elect will not hold her in high regard, this is an aberration. She is not, nor shall she ever be, just a kid. She is a smart, vibrant, and a conscientious young lady. Above all, she is a dutiful American and has achieved the overall grade of exceptional. While our president elect has no grasp of the advanced concept of American Exceptionalism Audrey personifies it.

May God bless you little Audrey.
Be comforted knowing that you have accomplished more in your seven years than our president elect ever will. Do your best in school. Ask questions; evaluate answers; and always seek the truth. For in this is life, liberty, and the American way.
