Alan Dershowitz: France had it coming, but for a different reason

Alan Dershowitz: France Reaped What It Sowed in Paris Attack

by Sean Piccolo

While France is reeling from the terrorist massacre of 12 people at the Paris offices of a satirical magazine, the country is also “one of the worst … when it comes to rewarding terrorism,” lawyer and author Alan Dershowitz told “MidPoint” host Ed Berliner on Newsmax TV Wednesday.

“They play with everybody. They reward every terrorist,” Dershowitz said of the French.

“They’ve never been part of the international campaign against terrorism. They are part of the problem, not part of the solution.”

An interesting take, one I’d not anticipated, and certainly not from Dershowitz.

“I hate to pile on when they’re suffering like this, but you have to understand how bad France has been historically in the war against terrorism,” he said.

Dershowitz said that the attack should come as no surprise, given Europe’s history of tolerating Islamic terrorism.

“When the Israeli athletes were murdered in Munich [in 1972], most European countries freed them when they came to their country,” said Dershowitz. “Germany let them go, and most European countries have freed terrorists. It shouldn’t surprise anybody. In Europe, they’ve never fought terror.”

Sadly, Mr Dershowitz makes his point — not unlike the US situation involving the World Trade Center, 1993 and 2001.

  1. The attack came because in France these cartoonists had the courage to publish something unflattering and ‘offensive’ to islam. They exercised their freedom of expression.
Whereas in the US, land of freedom and the First Amendment etc., no one seems to have the courage to publish anything derogatory or mocking of mo ham and ed or his followers.
Had a satirical magazine attempted something similar, how far would it have gotten in ‘the land of the free’? Even now, there is a virtual blackout of the controversial cartoons in the US. So who tolerates terrorism more?
At this point in time, he should have kept his mouth shut.

    • You need to quantify your statement. America has no qualms about covering, printing, publishing PISS CHRIST in terms of “art.” The difference is twofold: Islam the “underdog” religion vs Christianity, the religion held generally in America at this point. Second, the AMM fears Islam; it doesn’t fear Christianity — Christians won’t bomb their offices.

      The AMM chooses Islam.

  2. At one point a couple years back, several thousand cars were being burned per evening by Islamists in France.
They didn’t listen to the alarm clock.
I foresee a rising-up of skinhead types now to react to all this. Chaos will ensue, and gun-free Frenchies will be powerless to protect themselves in the turbulence.
Sigh. How often do we need to repeat the mantra…
Guns, ammo, precious metals, food, shelter…

  3. Though at first blush, it seems like an insensitive remark. However, he kinda makes a good point. France has opened up their country to muslims, and given them more than most other countries have, yet all their bending over to appease islam has earned them no favor. Muslims kill all those not like them, regardless of who they are or of any favor shown to them.

There seems to be two kinds of muslims. Extremists and Moderates. The difference between them are that Extremists are muslims who want to cut the heads off of all those not like them. Whereas Moderates are muslims who want Extremists to cut the heads off of all those not like them.

  4. Prediction. Nothing will change. All the candlelight vigils and saccharine hashtag “je suis charlie” and momentary outrage will amount to nothing. nada. zip. bubkus. There may be a few publications who will not be cowed by these events but they will be in Europe, not the States. All these terror attacks will continue to be seen as individual events and not as part of a pattern clearly linked to islam and world domination, that would be too unsettling for delicate western sensibilities. Any resistance to islam and immigration at the grass roots level governments will try to demonize and denigrate by calling them far right. In their desire to show how tolerant they are leaders will embrace closer ties to the moslem world and speak soothing words designed to placate and not confront reality. Even today Angela Merkel is calling for more tolerance. But by whom?
If there is no backlash against islamic practices, if immigration policies do not change, if the evidence staring one in the face is ignored by the pc media and politicians, if there are still people who believe that islam and western ideals can live together on equal footing then we are truly damned and our descendents will pay the price.
