Healthcare.gov HACKED, just as we knew it would be, and were promised never would be

ObamaCare WebsiteOf course healthcare.gov can be hacked — just as we knew it would be.

And your medical records can be accessed — by anyone with the cash and the time and the experience — just as we knew it can be.

Hacker breached HealthCare.gov insurance site

by Danny Yadron

A hacker broke into part of the HealthCare.gov insurance enrollment website in July and uploaded malicious software, according to federal officials.

Investigators found no evidence that consumers’ personal data was taken in the breach, federal officials said. The hacker appears only to have accessed a server used to test code for HealthCare.gov. The Department of Health and Human Services discovered the attack last week.

An HHS official said the attack appears to mark the first successful intrusion into the website, where millions of Americans bought insurance starting last year under the Affordable Care Act. It raised concerns among federal officials because of how easily the intruder gained access and how much damage could have occurred.

Ah.  Nice to know the federal government — the most massive repository of medical records on the planet — can be so readily and illegally accessed.  Let’s see, what else is on this website?  Oh, that’s right — roughly everything about you, to include your health history, your SSN, your address, predilections, credit history, personal information, ad nauseum.

Perfect.  My confidence in the federal government his skyrocketed, as I’m sure your has too.

Just as we knew it would.

White House To Ignore Court Ruling, Keep Handing Out Obamacare Subsidies

by Sarah Hurtubise

The Obama administration will continue handing out Obamacare subsidies to federal exchange customers despite a federal court’s ruling Tuesday that the subsidies are illegal.

A DC Court of Appeals panel ruled Tuesday morning that customers in the 36 states that didn’t establish their own exchange and use HealthCare.gov instead cannot be given premium tax credits, according to the text of the Affordable Care Act itself.

Read the detailed stories about the rulings here and here.

But the White House said in response that it will continue handing out the billions of taxpayer dollars in subsidies. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said that while the case continues to be battled out in the courts, the administration will continue to dole out billions in tax credits to federally-run exchange customers.

“It’s important for people all across the country to understand that this ruling does not have any practical impact on their ability to continue to receive tax credits right now,” Earnest said in a press briefing Tuesday.

There you go.  Who needs all those pesky laws when you can just ignore them, or issue your own Executive Orders by Spite House fiat?

But here’s the kicker: this potentially could result in those persons who can no longer acquire subsidies opting out of ObamaKare via the “hardship” clause, as in: they can’t afford it.  And when some opt out, many more millions will do so also.

California: prepare to get bent-over on health care premiums

obamacare-fast-convenient-affordable-copyBut it won’t exempt you, the American Taxpayer.

From my local paper, The Sacramento Bee:

Viewpoints: Brace for much higher health insurance premiums

by Stephen Parente

California, buckle up. Over the next few months, you’ll learn how much your health insurance premiums will go up for next year. The early evidence isn’t good – the percentage increase could be in the double digits.

But that’s nothing compared to what you’ll face in 2017. In May, I released a comprehensive study showing how the Affordable Care Act – otherwise known as Obamacare – will likely play out over the next few years. The diagnosis isn’t good.

First, the short version. In two years, the ACA’s structural problems will lead to substantial premium increases. Once that happens, Californians will likely leave the insurance market in droves. They’ll have little choice; they won’t be able to afford health insurance because federal subsidies won’t keep up with the rapid price increases. Within a decade, this could swell the ranks of the uninsured by nearly 11 percent.

Ladies and gentlemen, this article isn’t coming from a “TEA Party” member but instead from a Bee writer — the newspaper itself being of a Leftist/Demorat bent.  That in itself is called a very large clue.

Please read the rest of the post, then read this incredibly important last paragraph, you sniveling sycophants of Barack Hussein’s ObakaKare:

Think of what this means for the Affordable Care Act. Its architects promised that it would make health care cheaper while providing universal health care. Instead, it will make health care unaffordable for many while leaving more Californians uninsured. This health care cure may be worse than the disease.

And this, folks, by an author who is a professor of health finance.

House Republicans pass test vote to defund Obamacare; shutdown edges closer

Cruz ObamacareFrom the WashingtonTimes.com:

By Tom Howell Jr., The Washington Times

House Republicans survived a key test vote Thursday on their plan to keep the government running while trying to halt the health care law, defying a veto threat from President Obama and inching closer to a shutdown showdown with Senate Democrats.

Top Republicans say their party’s strategy is unlikely to succeed and not worth shutting down the government, but some rank-and-file lawmakers said they have to draw a line now and use the leverage of the spending bill to end the president’s signature achievement.

Ted Cruz hit the nail on the head during an interview with Hugh Hewitt.  In one reply, Senator Cruz stated:

TC:    .  .  . every day it becomes clearer and clearer that this thing isn’t working, that more and more Americans are losing their jobs, are not getting hired in the first place. More and more Americans are finding themselves forcibly reduced to 29 hours a week. More and more Americans are seeing skyrocketing health insurance premiums. And more and more Americans are losing their health insurance altogether. And as you noted, the fact that the unions are jumping ship, I mean, there is bipartisan agreement that it isn’t working, and President Obama has already lawlessly granted exemptions for big corporations and for members of Congress. And this fight over defunding Obamacare in one sentence is about if President Obama will grant waivers to big corporations and members of Congress, why would President Obama threaten to shut down the federal government in order to deny those same waivers to hard-working American families?

Correct: if Obamacare is so wonderful, why are there any exemptions whatsoever, to either corporations who donated to Mr Obama’s campaign, or any DC politician and their staffs?  If Obamacare is so wonderful, inclusive, less expensive and more efficient, why would there be any exemptions at all?

I think you know that answer.

And finally: a filibuster?

Democratic Official Allan Brauer Wishes Death on Ted Cruz Aide’s Children

BY:

Allan Brauer, the communications chair for the Democratic Party of Sacramento, Calif., told an aide to Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Tex.) on Friday that he hoped her children “die from debilitating, painful and incurable diseases.”

He followed up the attack with a series of vicious tweets:

Ah, those loving, understanding, compassionate, sensitive, tender, kind and all-inclusive Demorats and Leftists, embracing and considerate of all persons’ feelings and opinions.

Questions about the “Affordable Care Act”

Doctors Guns IIFirst, a misnomer: the “Affordable Care Act” ISN’T, particularly for the American Taxpayers who are FUNDING it.

[An aside: you know, honest to God, I really do conjure that the bulk of what Rush Limbaugh terms “Low Information Voters” believe that the government is the source, the fount, of all income — and not the Mark I, Model I American Taxpayer.  America has, sadly, become Brain-Glazingly Ignorant within the past few generations.  Too many alleged Americans believe that their governmental Free Cheese grows on trees.]

I ruminate because of Old NFO‘s recent blogpost involving “My Medical Appointment.”

Please read it before continuing.

With that in mind, in re doctors now apparently asking patients about their firearms during a medical consultation that has and should have nothing to do with firearms, I posit a few questions for my ever-intelligent readers:

1. Are you or have you been posed any questions about firearms during a recent medical visit?
2. What was your answer?
3. Are these questions lawful?
4. Are you legally required to answer them?
5. What statutes are involved?  Provide citations.

Because, up to this point, much has been written that I suspect is hearsay, unsupported and/or otherwise anecdotal from other sites.

Please, I ask, if you have answers to the above questions, kindly provide situations and citations and statutes.
