Who voted to remove the US flag from UC Irvine?

[For reference, please read this first.]

And here they are:

UC Irvine Students Who Voted To Remove US FlagAmazing, yes, that there isn’t one Caucasoid amongst them, eh wot?

However, I suggest that those students are sexist, handicappist, racist, weightist and religionist, as they clearly appear to lack an Islamist in the mix, a transgender Albanian dwarf, a cross-dresser, a bald lesbian, a fat Tongan, a person in a wheelchair and a convicted felon.

UC Irvine Question

UC Irvine students despise America

UC Irvine chose illegals over the American flag.  It is termed a “weapon of nationalism.”

From Breitbart.com:

UC Irvine Student: US Flag Banned to Avoid ‘Triggering’ Hurt Feelings Among Illegals

by Adelle Nazarian

UCI student Matthew Guevara, who sits on the Student Association board, authored the resolution (R50-70) to ban the U.S. flag from the association’s lobby wall. The resolution passed narrowly on Thursday in a 6-4 vote in favor, with two abstentions, but was overturned and vetoed on Saturday during a private meeting held by the Associated Student’s Executive Cabinet by a 4-1 vote.

Imagine that.  The American flag voted as offensive by some ignorant puerile male with a Mexican name.

But even more specifically, by a Mexican Leftist:

Penned by Matthew Guevara, a student in the school of social ecology, the resolution stated: “Designing a culturally inclusive space aims to remove barriers that create undue effort and separation by planning and designing spaces that enable everyone to participate equally and confidentially.”

“The American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism,” the resolution continued. “Flags not only serve as symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism, but also construct cultural mythologies and narratives that in turn charge nationalistic sentiments.”

The resolution noted that in certain spaces “freedom of speech” can be interpreted as “hate speech.”

The American flag is, therefore, colonialistic, imperialistic, nationalistic.

And finally, there it is, admitted by Leftists:

“Freedom of speech” can be interpreted as “hate speech.”

Leftsts admit that is where they want to go.  They are the final arbiters of what can be considered “hate speech” and what cannot.  They are the “deciders-in-chief” of who can say what, and the concomitant penalties for straying.

The “ban,” however, didn’t remain in place for terribly long.

Four days after its birth, the radical push to remove national symbols from student government facilities was dead. On Saturday, student leaders vetoed the resolution, according to the Times.

Because of this incident, Fornicalia may decide to address the issue legislatively — and how said is that?

On Friday, state Sen. Janet Nguyen (R-Santa Ana) told the AP that legislators may introduce a state constitutional amendment prohibiting “state-funded universities and college campuses from banning the United States flag.”

Breitbart.com provides some additional insight:

A student who spoke with Breitbart News on condition of anonymity that she heard a member of the ASUCI discussing “the [American] flag and how it triggered people.” She then said she believed a major line of reasoning behind the legislation to remove the flag could have been a “precautionary step” to prevent a trigger situation where if someone is an “illegal citizen or [they] have citizenship issues, it makes them feel bad.

“But me and my friends were like, ‘Dude, you’re in America. It’s the American flag,’” she added.

The issue, according to her, was that the flag was placed in a common space, and she felt that if it were placed in a private area like a personal office, it would not have been a big deal. “And then there were people who were like ‘the flag triggers me’ — that was their exact wording, too.”

She added: “Everything can be a trigger. How far is it going to go? If everyone says something bothers them about a shared space then that could be a problem because then there will be nothing on any walls.”

How far will it go?

It will go as far as allowed, until there is pushback and common sense injected.  In this case, common sense and pushback have won the day.

For now.
