Muslims storm American embassies in Cairo and Benghazi; Obama and the State Department do nothing.
From Reuters:
(Reuters) – Egyptian protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy on Tuesday, tore down the American flag and burned it during a protest over what they said was a film being produced in the United States that insulted Prophet Mohammad.
Scaling the walls and burning our American flag, replacing it with a black al Qaeda-type flag, as below:
From the UK Telegraph:
“At least four of them climbed over the embassy walls and tore down the American flag,” a witness said, adding that the demonstrators were angered by a film produced by expatriate members of Egypt’s Christian minority resident in the United States.
The demonstrators raised black flags inscribed with the Muslim profession of belief: “There is no God but God and Mohammed is the prophet of God.”
So what is the official reaction of the US Embassy — the US State Department — the United States of America?
Yes, of course: blame the so-called “film-makers” and not the Muslims who assaulted and occupied what is, by accord, considered to be sovereign US soil. Here is the statement of US bureaucrats:
The U.S. embassy had put out a statement earlier on Tuesday condemning “misguided individuals” who hurt the religious feelings of Muslims or followers of other religions.
“We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others,” the U.S. embassy said in its statement.
The United States has now publicly apologized to Islam for the assault.
For those who think that — as the terrible Conservative that I am — I’m creating this reaction out of completely fabricated cloth, I say: here is the official US Embassy Cairo link, containing the full statement.
Officially, per the embassy, free speech is now “abuse.” The reaction of Islam? Here:
“If your freedom of speech has no limits, may you accept our freedom of action.”
There you have it. Speech is the same, for Muslims, as violent action.
Additionally: I’m sure everyone has forgotten about the refusal of the Los Angeles Times in to release the 2003 tape it possesses of Mr Obama praising a Chicago professor who was a rabid advocate for the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was a designated terrorist group in the 1970s and ’80s. Remember that? I certainly do.
Here is the 2008 LATimes story.
What is Mr Obama’s “official” response today regarding the assault of our/his Cairo embassy and the storming/shooting at the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, where “One American staff member has died and a number have been injured in the clashes,” Abdel-Monem Al-Hurr, spokesman for Libya’s Supreme Security Committee, told Reuters news agency. — ?
This.
But wait: it only gets better:
In the meantime, our “foreign policy president” (his campaign words), Mr Obama, refused to meet with Benyamin Netanyahu later this month, who will be in the US for two days only. From Haaretz.com:
White House declines Netanyahu request to meet with Obama
The White House’s response marks a new low in relations between Netanyahu and Obama, underscored by the fact that this is the first time Netanyahu will visit the U.S. as prime minister without meeting Obama; PM to meet with Clinton
The White House declined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s request on Tuesday to meet U.S. President Barack Obama during a UN conference in New York at the end of the month.
From CBSDC:
WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making it clear that Israel will not wait to take out Iranian nuclear facilities.
In heated comments toward the United States, the Israeli prime minister said that it’s becoming clear that diplomacy will not work with Iran.
“The world tells Israel, `Wait. There’s still time,’” Netanyahu said Tuesday, according to The Associated Press. “And I say: `Wait for what? Wait until when?’ Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don’t have a moral right to place a red light before Israel.”
“That which gets rewarded gets repeated.” A political axiom. And our president and his administration through any number of OFFICIAL venues are REWARDING violence against the United States and the discarding and curb-kicking of Israeli concerns.
How can any clear-thinking individual conclude anything other than: Mr Obama supports Islam and snubs Israel?
With that in mind, what’s a good Mullah to think?
