Trump’s budget proposal: what cut and what eliminated?

The US government is beyond massive and exists, any more, to grow beyond any logical or reasonable measure. Both sides of the aisle wish to have this trend continue and so, to an extent, do many American voters.

To bandy a word utilized by Leftists but applicable here: that is unsustainable.

Donald Trump, now president, ran on the platform of reducing government and restoring power to our military — gutted like a bad fish as it was by Barack Hussein Obama.

President Trump already crafted an executive order stating that “for every one new regulation issued, at least two prior regulations be identified for elimination, and that the cost of planned regulations be prudently managed and controlled through a budgeting process.”

You can imagine the howls of outrage by control freaks, bilaterally, who witnessed an action by Trump to diminish their power, their cash and their dominant authority.

It’s what we elected President Trump to do. He means to accomplish that goal.

Trump Budget Would Abolish 19 Agencies, Cut Thousands of Federal Jobs

With the aim of “making government work again,” the Trump White House on Thursday unveiled a $1.1 trillion budget blueprint for discretionary spending in fiscal 2017 and 2018 that would abolish 19 agencies and eliminate thousands of agency jobs.

The 54-page “America First” document, focused primarily on fiscal 2018, would boost the Defense Department and related programs at Energy by $54 billion, and Homeland Security by $2.8 billion. It would offset such increases by cutting the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development by $10.1 billion (28 percent) and the Environmental Protection Agency by $2.6 billion (31 percent). The latter cut would eliminate approximately 3,200 positions, according to the document.

The agency-by-agency plans include eliminating dozens of grant programs at the Education and Commerce departments—many of them related to climate change.

Little considered is the US debt. Please see the “live” debt clock here, if you wish to be personally gobsmacked in real time, as the national debt stands at $19.9 trillion dollars.

“The defense and public safety spending increases in this budget blueprint are offset and paid for by finding greater savings and efficiencies across the federal government,” Trump wrote in his introduction. “We are going to do more with less, and make the government lean and accountable to the people. This includes deep cuts to foreign aid,” he added. “Many other government agencies and departments will also experience cuts. These cuts are sensible and rational. Every agency and department will be driven to achieve greater efficiency and to eliminate wasteful spending in carrying out their honorable service to the American people.”

Anything wrong with “deep cuts to foreign aid”? Not in my book, though Leftists, Demorats and the like bleat that foreign aid “accounts for little of our debt.” So what? Why should people who want us dead benefit from American dollars?

Anything wrong with “doing more with less”? It’s what private businesses and much smaller governments nationally have had to contend with for years.

Anything wrong with “greater efficiency” and eliminating “wasteful spending”? After all, it’s your money, the American Taxpayer.

The Office of Management and Budget also implicitly criticized the Obama administration’s management approach for focusing too much on unproductive “compliance activities” that fail to give managers sufficient freedom.

Right. Because when, in recent memory, do you recall the federal government expanding your freedoms instead of stealing your freedoms and then selling some of them back to you at a profit for them and a loss for you?

The Trump team vowed to improve procurement and other support functions by using “available data to develop targeted solutions to problems federal managers face, and begin fixing them directly by sharing and adopting leading practices from the private and public sectors.”

Aha. Are you starting to glean a common thread here?

Who didn’t like President Trump’s budget proposal? The GOP EstabliHacks.

Again with the GOP EstabliHacks, it’s all about the loss of power, control and money. Tucker Carlson interviews Demorat Eric Swalwell. Does anyone ask: “can we afford it?”

Then there was this — anticipated by me and most all other conservatives, of course.

Patricia Harrison, president and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, said in a statement, “The elimination of federal funding to CPB would initially devastate and ultimately destroy public media’s role in early childhood education, public safety, connecting citizens to our history, and promoting civil discussions for Americans in rural and urban communities alike.”

Here’s what Leftists know about the CPB, the NEA and PBS but will never verbalize: absent federal dollars they won’t/can’t be supported by Leftists only.

Remember Air America, the Leftist network answer to right-wing radio? It stood up and found itself remarkably unsupported by its Leftist base and other radio listeners. Why? Because it actually had to compete in an open, capitalistic marketplace and found itself lacking in two serious areas: content, and messenger. It’s content — like most everything having to do with the Left — was hyperbolic, oppressive, negative. Its hosts were predominantly unlikable. A wonderful combination if you wish to be successful.

We already know that the words “compete” and “success” are inherently offensive to Leftists of all stripes, in any event.

So we defund the NEA, CPB and PBS. Let them finally stand or fall on the basis of their content, their attractiveness and appeal — just like every other private site, channel or show that must compete in an open market.

Again, are you starting to glean a common thread here?

In other words (massive intake of breath by political EstabliHacks, drones and deep staters everywhere), President Donald Trump intends to treat the United States government much like a business.

And guess what?  YOU paid for it.  The American Taxpayer.  The same American Taxpayer that provided Obama’s administration with the greatest amount of revenue in the history of the United States.

Wads of Euros and Swiss francs stacked on wooden pallets were delivered in January just as five American prisoners were granted clemency by Tehran, unnamed sources told the Wall Street Journal.

Procured from central banks in the Netherlands and Switzerland, the cash payment was not disclosed when President Obama announced the release of the hostages on January 17.

If that doesn’t conjure up a mental photo of a prototypical illegal exchange of cash in the dark of night during a rainstorm, I don’t know what does.  “Wads of Euros and Swiss francs stacked on wooden pallets.”  Sheesh.

Even Paul Ryan, RINO, said:

House Speaker Paul Ryan, one of the Republican party’s most senior officials, said the report, if true, “confirms our longstanding suspicion that the administration paid a ransom in exchange for Americans unjustly detained in Iran.

The White House has denied any link between the payment and the release of hostages, saying it was the first installment in $1.7b owed to Iran over a failed arms deal just before Ayatollah Khomeini seized power 37 years ago.

“This $400 million is actually money that the Iranians had paid into a US account in 1979 as part of a transaction to procure military equipment,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

“It is against the policy of the United States to pay ransom for hostages.”

I have but only one response: the definition of ransom.

Charles Krauthammer nailed it, gangsta-style.

“Because it kinda feels like some spy novel, or a crime novel because cash was exchanged.”

The DOJ objected to the way the “deal” was structured, as they said — rightly so — that it would do nothing but appear as a ransom payout for the hostages because those two things occurred the same day.

Also, that is completely exclusive of the fact that, unless one wants to embolden hostage-takers, villains, dictators and criminals, a country or an entity or an individual should never pay a ransom because — obviously, due to the nature of criminals — the hostage-taking will not stop.  It merely proves that the act of hostage-taking is productive.

Further, that cash will be used in furtherance of one thing: terrorist acts against Muslims and against the West.  Violence, death, chaos and carnage.

I don’t believe in coincidences and, apparently, the hostages don’t believe it either.  From the NYPost.com:

“I just remember the night at the airport sitting for hours and hours there, and I asked police, ‘Why are you not letting us go?’ ” Abedini said. “He said, ‘We are waiting for another plane so if that plane doesn’t come, we never let [you] go.’ ”

Please remember, however, that Mr Obama says that is the most dissolute of coincidences and no logical thinking person could possibly make the connection between a pallet full of cash and the release of the hostages.

But here is the conspicuous logic that Mr Obama fails to understand:

Suddenly, after 36 years — and entirely coincidentally, claims the White House — Obama decides it’s time to settle the matter of the $400 million. He’s going to give Iran back its $400 million, plus $1.3 billion in taxpayer money. And — entirely coincidentally — the hostages were being freed.  Said Obama on January 17, “With the nuclear deal done, prisoners released, the time was right to resolve this dispute as well.”

36 years, yes; but also seven years of the Obama Administration.  Why that day?  Why that shipment?  Why cash?  Do you think that Obama couldn’t have picked up the telephone, spoken to Iran and then ordered that $400 million be wired or transferred to Iran?

If not, I have nuclear centrifuges in Iran I’d like to sell you.

Oh wait, Iran’s not selling them.  They’re too busy being used right now.

In the US: end “birthright citizenship”

Because, after all, if it’s good enough for Harry Reid, it’s good enough for me.

It’s also apparently good enough for Louisiana Senator David Vitter:

Vitter happened to quote from another figure who advocated for the end of birthright citizenship: Harry Reid.

In 1993, Reid introduced S.1351, called the Immigrant Stabilization Act.  As you can see when you click the link, this bill was proposed solely by Reid himself, fully credited.

Reid said then, in a 1993 speech:

If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with U.S. citizenship and guarantee full access to all public and social services this society provides. And that is a lot of services.

Reid is entirely correct.  Vitter agrees.  And so do I, wholeheartedly.  Reid continued:

Is it any wonder that two-thirds of the babies born at taxpayer expense in county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?”

No wonder at all.  True then and true now.  Want proof of Reid’s words?  Here it is:

Reid later verbally regretted the move in 1999.  That was because he realized he was moving closer and closer to more true power in DC and his seniority in the Demorat Party helped immensely.  Demorats counseled him to walk back his earlier remarks.  Also, Nevada became flooded with illegal Mexicans, a firm expanding base of Demorat voters who filled the mandatory two-pronged ideal: 1) ignorant and 2) needy, not independent.

And nothing smells better to a Demorat than another ignorant, needy, Mexican voter.

Demography is prophecy.  As such, we are well on our way to turning the Left Coast into what Victor Davis Hanson calls “Mexifornia.”  That is to say: purposely “importing” the same ignorant mindset that has turned Mexico into the southern country from which people have, for decades, wanted to escape.  DC is purposely importing unskilled, uneducated and disease-ridden illegals into the United States.  For one reason only: votes.

When illegal children began flooding our southern border in huge waves roughly two years ago, is it any surprise whatsoever that diseases the US hadn’t seen in any kind of significant numbers shot skywards?  TB?  Pertussis?  Swine flu?  Dengue?  Measles? All over the US?  DC purposely took those children and hid them in communities all around the states, refusing to tell anyone what they had done and where they had stashed those children, in order to hide them.  Then it lied about the statistics.

Like Vitter, like the younger Harry Reid, I too support the end of “anchor babies” and birthright citizenship.

The 14th Amendment says:

Section 4.

The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any state shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

Section 5.

The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

But: does the 14th absolutely guarantee birthright citizenship?

No European country does this, and much of Europe is either based upon actual, perceived or wished Socialism.

Some people think the 14th Amendment actually allows Congress to end “birthright citizenship” once and for all.

The 14th Amendment only commands citizenship to persons born on US soil to parents who are not citizens of a foreign country.  It does not command “anchor babies” or “birthright citizenship.”

Jeremy Buck writes cogently:

RUMOR: The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to children born to parents illegally in the U.S.

FACT: The current law that grants automatic citizenship to children born to illegal aliens is Section 301 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1401, which uses language similar to the 14th Amendment, regarding persons born in the United States and “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Critics argue that automatic birthright citizenship could be changed by revoking the statute.  Others say it would require a constitutional amendment because they believe the 14th Amendment requires birthright citizenship. However, nobody can say what the 14th Amendment means until the Supreme Court interprets it.  The court has not done that (The 19th century case – United States v. Wong Kim Ark – that some outlets are reporting concerned a legal Chinese immigrant).

The Birthright Citizenship Act would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act – not the constitution – to consider a person born in the United States “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States for citizenship at birth purposes if the person is born in the United States of parents, one of whom is: (1) a U.S. citizen or national; (2) a lawful permanent resident alien whose residence is in the United States; or (3) an alien performing active service in the U.S. Armed Forces.

And there you go.  Just a modicum of logic used.

I say: end automatic “anchor babies” and birthright citizenship.”

Report: 42 percent of new Medicaid signups are immigrants, their children

Immigrants and their U.S.-born children make up more than 40 percent of new Medicaid recipients at a cost of $4.6 billion, according to an analysis of government data.

The Center for Immigration Studies, a low-immigration advocacy group, released a report early Thursday that found both legal and illegal immigrants and their minor children made up 42 percent of Medicaid growth from 2011 to last year.

Part of the increased enrollment came as a result of the new healthcare law’s expansion of Medicaid to impoverished and low-income adults.

“The high rate and significant growth in Medicaid associated with immigrants is mainly the result of a legal immigration system that admits large numbers of immigrants with relatively low-levels of education, many of whom end up poor and uninsured,” the report says. “This fact, coupled with the extensive supports we provide to low-income residents, unavoidably creates very significant costs for taxpayers.”
