You can see my previous posts about the Coronavirus here and here and here. In their midst, of course, you’ll discover that videos — once present — have since been removed by the American Media Maggots, who refuse to either tell the truth, tell a half truth, or insist that the average citizen has no means whatsoever of discovering the truth.
Occasionally — only very occasionally — are the AMM taken to task. Here is one amusing instance involving George Cos. . .sorry, I mean Brian Stelter from CNN.

The basic truth up front is this: 99.5% of people will not be hospitalized or die from Wuhan-19. And yet we’re bankrupting people, ruining families, killing businesses and geometrically increasing suicides all throughout the United States.
Information is coming to light that lockdowns don’t work — yet a number of Demorat-run states, mayors — and many nations in Europe now — believe in doubling down on the very thing time has proven to be rather a spectacular failure.
More lockdowns and more lockdowns.
Rights repressed. Businesses killed. Families ruined. The health of hundreds of thousands of persons ruined. Lives shattered by ever-increasing suicides.
From the NYPost.com:
It’s now looking like the lockdowns may have been a huge mistake
by Michael Barone, 9-6-20
Were lockdowns a mistake? To that nagging question, the answer increasingly seems to be yes.
Certainly, they were a novelty. As novelist Lionel Shriver writes, “We’ve never before responded to a contagion by closing down whole countries.” As I’ve noted, the 1957-58 Asian flu killed between 70,000 and 116,000 Americans, between 0.04 percent and 0.07 percent of the nation’s population. The 1968-70 Hong Kong flu killed about 100,000, 0.05 percent of the population.
And the sensible adage that you quarantine those affected and shield those at highest risk has fallen by the wayside.
The US coronavirus death toll of 200,000 is 0.065 percent of the current population. It will go higher, but it’s about the same magnitude as those two flus, and it has been less deadly to those under 65 than the flus were. Yet there were no statewide lockdowns; no massive school closings; no closings of office buildings and factories, restaurants and museums. No one considered shutting down Woodstock.
And here is a key:
Plus, we’re much more risk-averse. Children aren’t allowed to walk to school; jungle gyms have vanished from playgrounds; college students are shielded from microaggressions. We have a “safetyism mindset,” as Jonathan Haidt and Greg Lukianoff write in “The Coddling of the American Mind,” under which “many aspects of students’ lives needed to be carefully regulated by adults.”
The legitimate fears that hospitals would be overwhelmed apparently explain the (in retrospect, deadly) orders of the governors of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan requiring elderly care facilities to admit COVID-infected patients. And the original purpose to “flatten the curve” segued into “stamp out the virus.”
Governors imposing continued lockdowns claimed to be “following the science.” But only in one dimension: reducing the immediate number of COVID-19 cases.
Here comes the truth no one in government seems to want to admit. The cure is worse than the disease.
The lockdowns also prevented cancer screenings, heart-attack treatment and substance-abuse counseling, the absence of which resulted in a large but hard-to-estimate number of deaths. What Haidt and Lukianoff call “vindictive protectiveness” turned out to be not very protective.
Most every person with whom I’ve corresponded recently on social media knows someone or has had a family member commit suicide in 2020. Wuhan-19 is the primary reason in concert with other aligned issues.
The anti-lockdown blogger (and former New York Times reporter) Alex Berenson makes a powerful case that lockdowns delayed, rather than prevented, infections.
There are old lessons here. Governments can sometimes channel but never entirely control nature. There is no way to entirely eliminate risk. Attempts to reduce one risk may increase others. Amid uncertainty, people make mistakes. Like, maybe, the lockdowns.

Stanford expert blasts COVID lockdown failures: ‘We quarantined the healthy … exposed the sick’
by Daniel Payne, 9-10-20
Citizens and public authorities fixated on society-wide lockdowns as a key measure to combat COVID-19 have failed to account for the devastating effects those measures can have on society as a whole, a Stanford professor of medicine says.
Jay Bhattacharya, the director of Stanford’s Program on Medical Outcomes as well as the director of the school’s Center on the Demography and Economics of Health and Aging, said in an interview this week on the John Solomon Reports podcast that he found it “shocking” that, as countless countries earlier this year moved to shut down ahead of COVID-19, so many had forgotten to “think about both the cost and benefits” of such policies.
“Country after country made the same decision with a couple of exceptions,” Bhattacharya said. “And I think that was a major problem.”

Revolver Exclusive Study: COVID-19 Lockdowns Over 10 Times More Deadly Than Pandemic Itself
Revolver, 8-31-20
A groundbreaking new study commissioned by Revolver News concludes that COVID-19 lockdowns are ten times more deadly than the actual COVID-19 virus in terms of years of life lost by American citizens.
The economic devastation of the lockdowns will last for decades after the virus is brought under control, and it may lead to far worse ripple effects down the road. For the first time in its history, America has experienced what could be almost likened to a sudden stop in an emerging nation — a situation so crippling and perilous that long term financial and social stability have been legitimately threatened.
Because in truth, there’s no real way to completely halt a pandemic. History should have taught us that.
But Leftists, Demorats and the concomitant systemic bed-wetters, the American Media Maggots, all have what I term Historical Alzheimers. They learn nothing from history. That is purposeful.
Because we’ve all seen situations such as this.
Tennessee woman who passed away 6 months ago gets letter saying she is COVID-19 positive
by Jeni Diprizio, 9-3-20
A Shelby County man questions what is going on at the Shelby County Health Department.
His mother died six months ago, but the health department just sent her a letter saying she is COVID-19 positive.
Troy Whittington said he was surprised when he opened the letter this week from the Shelby County Health Department. He knew what was in that letter was false.
“I’m just having a hard time understanding how they can say someone has COVID-19 when they are not even alive,” said Whittington.
Whittington said a letter arrived from the Shelby County Health Department for his mother, Sandra Whittington. The letter says she has been diagnosed as COVID positive and needed to isolate.
That would be difficult, according to her obituary: the 66-year-old died February 16th. That was weeks before the first case of COVID-19 was detected in Shelby County.
“It’s been 6 months, almost 7, since she passed away. There was no testing that was done at that time. On her death certificate it was stated she died, what the cause of death was, and it was not COVID-19. It was COPD,” said Whittington.
The Millington resident said his mom fought a long battle with COPD and was considered in stage 4 when she died in hospice at the home of a friend.
Whittington said when he called the health department, he was told she took a COVID-19 test June 20th, which was clearly impossible. She was cremated.
As we know, much of what the LDAMM insist is correct is based on junk like this, including false tests, false positives, and tests that actually gave Wuhan-19 to people.
CDC’s failed coronavirus tests were tainted with coronavirus, feds confirm
by Beth Mole, 4-20-20
As the new coronavirus took root across America, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sent states tainted lab test kits in early February that were themselves seeded with the virus, federal officials have confirmed.
Now, according to investigation results reported by The New York Times, federal officials confirm that sloppy laboratory practices at two of three CDC labs involved in the tests’ creation led to contamination of the tests and their uninterpretable results.

San Fran keeps private gyms closed, but has reopened city-owned gyms. Furious owners call out city leaders.
by Chris Enloe, 9-6-20
San Francisco gyms have been forced by the liberal city to remain closed for months as part of measures implemented to reduce the spread of coronavirus. But city leaders have applied different rules for fitness facilities used by city employees.
According to KNTV-TV, city-owned indoor gyms have been open for months, all while privately owned indoor gyms have struggled to stay afloat. The result, KNTV reported, is “crushing private gym owners.”
Daniele Rabkin, who owns Crossfit Golden Gate, told KNTV the city’s actions are “shocking” and “infuriating.”

And I repeat: the study at UCLA and Stanford by researchers found that the Coronavirus is “ten times less fatal than thought, which translates to a healthy 50-to-60 year old dying after a contact is ONE in 19.1 MILLION.
I should remind everyone continuously: Cases mean NOTHING. The MEANINGFUL statistics are hospitalizations and deaths. But we also know, per the CDC itself, only 9,000 deaths were DIRECTLY attributed to Wuhan-19, instead of 180 000 at the time, The difference between dying OF Coronavirus and WITH Coronavirus.

U.S. COVID-19 Cases Fall 15% in Past Week, Deaths Down for Four Weeks
by Reuters
THE NUMBER of new cases of the novel coronavirus reported in the United States fell 15% last week from the previous seven days, and deaths fell for a fourth week in a row, according to a Reuters analysis.
The United States reported on average about 35,000 new cases each day in the week ended Sept. 13, marking the eighth straight week of declines from a peak in July of about 70,000 new cases a day. On average, more than 735 people a day died from COVID-19 last week, with fatalities declining in California and Texas and holding steady in Florida.

Coronavirus testing at Boston lab suspended after nearly 400 false positives
by Minyvonne Burke, 9-9-20
A Boston lab suspended coronavirus testing after an investigation uncovered nearly 400 false positive COVID-19 results.
Orig3n, a biotechnology company which counts dozens of nursing homes as its clients, ceased testing on Aug. 8 at the request of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The suspension came days after state health officials became aware of an unusually high number of positive coronavirus tests.
An investigation found that there were at least 383 inaccurate positive results from the lab that, upon re-testing, came back as negative.
Then we discovered a story that wasn’t covered by, literally, any news organization other than Fox, revealed on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

AG William Barr: Coronavirus Lockdowns ‘Greatest Intrusion on Civil Liberties’ Since Slavery
by Joel Pollak, 9-17-20
Attorney General William Barr said Wednesday evening “other than slavery, which was a different kind of restraint,” coronavirus lockdowns were the “greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history.”
Barr’s comments came during a Constitution Day celebration at Hillsdale College, commemorating the date in 1789 when the Constitution was signed by the Framers in Philadelphia.
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Barr has expressed alarm at the restrictions imposed by state authorities on First Amendment rights, particularly the freedom of religion.
Barr said:
Australia — the state of Victoria in particular — has some of the most oppressive and restrictive laws in a Western society.
Then we had the CDC giving us false information. Or was it?
CDC Says Aerosol Guidance Was “Posted in Error” to Website
by Ryan Chatelain, 9-21-20
ATLANTA — On Friday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated their guidelines to say that the coronavirus can be spread through tiny respiratory droplets called aerosols that can linger in the indoor air.
But, according to reports from The Washington Post and CNBC, the CDC now says that it was posted on its website in error.
“A draft version of proposed changes to these recommendations was posted in error to the agency’s official website,” the CDC said, adding that the organization is “currently updating its recommendations regarding airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). Once this process has been completed, the update language will be posted.”
The short-lived revision made Friday suggested 6 feet might not always be enough distance.
Hold that thought for a bit. We’ll come back. But first, a word from Joe Biden.

Billionaire Elon Musk must read statistics, because he said this recently:
Elon Musk says he won’t take coronavirus vaccine, calls Bill Gates a ‘knucklehead’
by Ben Cost, 9-29-20
SpaceX founder Elon Musk stirred the pot yet again after claiming that neither he nor his family would take a COVID-19 vaccine even if it was readily available.
The 49-year-old billionaire dropped the bombshell during a Monday appearance on the New York Times opinion podcast “Sway.”
“I’m not at risk, neither are my kids,” Musk told host Kara Swisher about the rationale behind his decision.
During the bizarre exchange, the Tesla CEO decried the nationwide lockdown as a “no-win situation” that has “diminished my faith in humanity.” Musk previously called widespread quarantines “unethical” and “de facto house arrest,” RT reports.
Instead of the current sweeping measures, the Boring Company boss suggested a more targeted lockdown where “anyone who is at risk” be “quarantined until the storm passes.”
Swisher criticized his suggestion, adding that humans could potentially die in the process.
“Everybody dies,” quipped Musk.
And there we go. Fear Porn has demanded that Americans put their lives on hold and quiver in the fetal position underneath their desks at home. Mattress manufacturers have benefited greatly due to the prodigious amount of bed wetting across the nation.
“Gates said something about me not knowing what I was doing,” Musk told Swisher. “It’s like, ‘Hey, knucklehead, we actually make the vaccine machines for CureVac, that company you’re invested in.’” He was referring to the fact that Tesla manufactures equipment for the German biopharmaceutical firm CureVac.
And here’s something you never heard. Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, left Governor Newsom’s economic task force because he’s going to fire 28,000 Disney employees in Southern Kalifornia. Because they won’t be opening.
Bob Iger Quits Governor Newsom’s Economic Recovery Task Force
According to a Disney spokesperson (via The Sacramento Bee), Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger has quit California Governor Gavin Newsom’s task force to reopen the economy. According to the report, the spokesperson would not say when or why Iger quit the task force.
Iger originally joined the task force back in April to help advise Newsom and the state of California on how best to reopen the economy after the COVID-19 shutdown. Iger was one of more than 70 business leaders that would provide advice to the Governor.
Since then, Disneyland has announced a reopening date, only to have to cancel their reopening due to a lack of guidance from the state.
Translated: Governor Newsom doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing. And as Iger suspected, on October 7th Governor Gavin Newsom said “theme parks won’t be opening any time soon.”
And now Newsom wants “disease parity.”
Gavin Newsom Moves Goalposts on Reopening AGAIN, Now Adding ‘Equity’ Measures
by Jennifer Van Laar, 10-1-20
On the 197th day of “15 days to slow the spread,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (Democrat, of course) has moved the reopening goalposts yet again.
Originally counties had to meet metrics aimed at ensuring adequate rates of testing and the availability of hospital/ICU beds/ventilators. (Contact tracing was supposed to be a part of that, but that effort’s been a big fat joke). Once hospitalization rates, ventilator usage, and death rates plummeted over the summer Newsom changed his strategy and enacted by gubernatorial fiat a tiered system that completely ignored those metrics and instead focused on daily new cases and positivity rate.
Now that more counties are set to move out of the most restrictive tier, Newsom’s changed the game again and has added an “equity requirement” counties must also meet before they can move down a tier.
And of course it has to do with race, because what else is there in the life of a Leftist Demorat? Oh, right. Sex.
-
Equity Metric. Ensure that the test positivity rates in its most disadvantaged neighborhoods, as defined as being in the lowest quartile of the Healthy Places Index census tracts, do not significantly lag behind its overall county test positivity rate, as described in detail below.
-
Targeted Investments. Submit a plan that (1) defines its disproportionately impacted populations, (2) specifies the percent of its COVID-19 cases in these populations, and (3) shows that it plans to invest Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases (Strategy 5: Use Laboratory Data to Enhance Investigation, Response, and Prevention) grant funds at least at that percentage to interrupt disease transmission in these populations. The targeted investments can include spending on augmenting testing, disease investigation, contact tracing, isolation/quarantine support, and education and outreach efforts for workers. Effective for the October 13th tier assignment, this plan must be submitted before a county may progress to a less restrictive tier. Due to data limitations in small populations, the equity metric described above cannot be reliably applied to smaller counties, as described below.
I speak Leftist, so I’ll translate: Kalifornia is now applying “critical race theory” to a pandemic.
I would continue to remind everyone of the above, from the CDC. And what’s happening in Europe right now — the alleged “shining example of what to do” according to Leftists.
In early October, President Trump acquired Wuhan-19. The social media fell apart with wishes that President Trump would die. Instead, for a 74-year-old, he recovered rapidly — precisely what Leftists, Demorats and the American Media Maggots didn’t want.

• “Why didn’t you kill him?”
Dr Harvey Risch in Newsweek wrote:
The Key to Defeating COVID-19 Already Exists. We Need to Start Using It
As professor of epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health, I have authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and currently hold senior positions on the editorial boards of several leading journals. I am usually accustomed to advocating for positions within the mainstream of medicine, so have been flummoxed to find that, in the midst of a crisis, I am fighting for a treatment that the data fully support but which, for reasons having nothing to do with a correct understanding of the science, has been pushed to the sidelines. As a result, tens of thousands of patients with COVID-19 are dying unnecessarily. Fortunately, the situation can be reversed easily and quickly.
I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.
The desperately wicked inexcusable has been revealed. Again.

CCP Virus Can Spread Through Airborne Transmission, CDC Says
by Zachary Stieber, 10-5-20
The virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread sometimes through airborne particles in enclosed spaces with inadequate ventilation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in updated guidance on Oct. 5.
The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus causes the disease COVID-19.
Although not as common as transmission through close contact, airborne transmission of the virus can sometimes happen under conditions allowing for small droplets and particles to linger in the air for minutes or even hours, the CDC said in its updated guidance.
“These viruses may be able to infect people who are further than 6 feet away from the person who is infected or after that person has left the space,” the agency said of airborne particles.
Americans have been told for months to social distance—or maintain a distance of six feet—from non-household members to avoid transmitting the virus.
How does this happen? That no one now listens to the CDC? Is it because the information is now too grim to process? Is it unenforceable? Wouldn’t this mean that, essentially, everyone would have to be inside — if we continue on the current path of Lockdown Mania?
Has it thrown the massive camshaft in the gears of government? And why haven’t you heard of this?
Questions, questions, questions.
Gavin Newsom has answers. Put your mask down between every bite as you patronize any open restaurant. Not kidding.

Meanwhile, back in schools, statistics indicate that out of 70,000+ positive reported COVID-19 cases on Universities, there were 3 hospitalizations 0 deaths to date.
And now, on October 12th, the absolutely unthinkable occurred. The WHO, World Health Organization, said lockdowns are damaging.

The World Health Organization has warned leaders against relying on COVID-19 lockdowns to tackle outbreaks — after previously saying countries should be careful how quickly they reopen.
WHO envoy Dr. David Nabarro said such restrictive measures should only be treated as a last resort, the British magazine the Spectator reported in a video interview.
“We in the World Health Organization do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Nabarro said.

European nations smash Covid-19 records as WHO warns daily deaths could surpass April peak
by Emma Reynolds and Tim Lister, 10-16-20
London (CNN)Concern is mounting in Europe as countries smash records for daily coronavirus cases and the World Health Organization warns that the daily death toll on the continent could reach five times its April peak within months.
Countries that managed to contain infection rates through spring lockdowns and began relaxing measures are watching the virus return with a vengeance, with Germany, France and the Czech Republic all reporting record case numbers in the past two days.
“The fall/winter surge continues to unfold in Europe with exponential increases in daily cases and matching percentage increases in daily deaths,” WHO Europe director Hans Kluge told a news briefing Thursday.
But listen: it’s “cases, cases, cases.”
Europe’s tally of new cases in its five most-affected countries — which together have a similar population to the US — was nearly 42% greater than the increase in the US in the week to October 13.JHU’s seven-day rolling average of new cases in the US stood at 49,542 on October 13, compared with an average daily rise rise of 70,158 in France, the UK, Russia, Spain and the Netherlands. The population of the five European countries is 343 million; the US population is 331 million.

Lockdown Kills: Four Newborn Babies In Australia Die After Travel Restrictions Prevent Them From Receiving Lifesaving Care
by Amanda Prestigiacomo, 10-21-20
“I shall leave it to you to image the profound effects of these deaths on the parents”
Four newborn babies have died after they were denied lifesaving treatment due to coronavirus-related lockdown travel restrictions implemented by politicians in Australia.
“Four Newborns in Adelaide have died after being denied lifesaving heart surgery because it wasn’t available in Adelaide, and they couldn’t be transferred interstate because of travel restrictions,” reported 9News Australia.
Their deaths have sparked outrage from medical professionals in the area demanding change.
“Medical professionals in South Australia are calling for urgent action this morning following shocking revelations of the deaths of four babies,” said a 9News Australia anchor on-air, Tuesday. “The newborns were denied lifesaving heart surgery because it wasn’t available in Adelaide, and they couldn’t be transferred interstate because of travel restrictions.”
This is madness, people. Killing infants because we allegedly don’t want to kill people?
The lockdown measures in Australia have been particularly severe. For example, The Wall Street Journal noted Sunday that politicians in Victoria, which includes Melbourne, finally said they “would ease some of its harshest restrictions, such as forbidding people from leaving their homes for all but a handful of reasons and keeping offices and retail outlets mostly shut, after daily infections fell to just two from a peak of more than 700.”
The Guardian, on Monday, laid out travel restrictions pertaining to South Australia as follows:
South Australia – People from all states and territories except Victoria can enter South Australia without having to quarantine for 14 days so long as they haven’t been in Victoria in the past fortnight. South Australian residents will not be allowed to return to their state from Victoria unless they are essential travellers. Victorians living within 40kms of the SA border are allowed into the state for essential purposes only. They can not travel more than 40kms into SA and must have had a negative Covid-19 test in the last 7 days and complete a registration form.
According to the report, gatherings in private homes in South Australia are limited to 50 people, “including members of the household, as long the maximum density does not exceed one person per two square meters.”
In New South Wales, the restrictions are even more strict, per The Guardian: “On Sunday 19 July, the government issued advice asking people not to host, or go to, a gathering of more than 10 people at home. But the law in NSW currently allows 20 people from different households to visit. There is no limit to the number of guests you can have over per day, as long as there are no more than 20 at a time and guests can stay overnight. If there are more than 20 visitors at a home, every person can be held individually responsible for a breach of the public health order.”
What was said? You can’t stop a pandemic? And yet it’s Trump’s fault in the US when every other country is in WORSE shape than we are?
Plus: these are primarily nations having the strictest lockdown conditions from the start.
But is Kalifornia lifting restrictions? No, why should it?
Gov. Newsom Limits Gatherings to Three Families, Two Hours Or Less, No Singing
by Katy Grimes, 10-13-20
Gov. Gavin Newsom and his California Department of Public Health issued another “new” set of social distancing guidelines prohibiting gatherings that include more than three households at any time.
The Oct. 9 document, “Mandatory Requirements for All Gatherings,” explains that all private gatherings must limit the number of attendees and are required to be held outside.
“Gatherings are defined as social situations that bring together people from different households at the same time in a single space or place. When people from different households mix, this increases the risk of transmission of COVID-19.”
- Gatherings should be two hours or less. The longer the duration, the risk of transmission increases.
Rules for Singing, Chanting, and Shouting at Outdoor Gatherings
-
Singing, chanting, shouting, and physical exertion significantly increases the risk of COVID-19 transmission because these activities increase the release of respiratory droplets and fine aerosols into the air. Because of this, singing, chanting, and shouting are strongly discouraged, but if they occur, the following rules and recommendations apply:
- All people who are singing or chanting should wear a face covering at all times while singing or chanting, including anyone who is leading a song or chant. Because these activities pose a very high risk of COVID-19 transmission, face coverings are essential to reduce the spread of respiratory droplets and fine aerosols;
- People who are singing, shouting, chanting, or exercising are strongly encouraged to maintain physical distancing beyond 6 feet to further reduce risk.
- People who are singing or chanting are strongly encouraged to do so quietly (at or below the volume of a normal speaking voice).
-
Instrumental music is allowed as long as the musicians maintain at least 6-foot physical distancing. Musicians must be from one of the three households. Playing of wind instruments (any instrument played by the mouth, such as a trumpet or clarinet) is strongly discouraged.
And this revelation from TheFederalist.com, completely uncovered by the American Media Maggots.
CDC Study Finds Overwhelming Majority Of People Getting Coronavirus Wore Masks

A Centers for Disease Control report released in September shows that masks and face coverings are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, even for those people who consistently wear them.
A study conducted in the United States in July found that when they compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from health care facilities who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask.
“In the 14 days before illness onset, 71% of case-patients and 74% of control participants reported always using cloth face coverings or other mask types when in public,” the report stated.
A reminder: it is forbidden for you to have this knowledge.

Stats Hold a Surprise: Lockdowns May Have Had Little Effect on COVID-19 Spread
10-4-20
Data suggest mandatory lockdowns exacted a great cost, with a questionable effect on transmission.
If lockdowns really altered the course of this pandemic, then coronavirus case counts should have clearly dropped whenever and wherever lockdowns took place. The effect should have been obvious, though with a time lag. It takes time for new coronavirus infections to be officially counted, so we would expect the numbers to plummet as soon as the waiting time was over.
The authors conclude:
The evidence suggests, then, that the sweeping, mandated lockdowns that followed voluntary responses exacted a great cost, with little effect on transmission. We can’t change the past, but we should avoid making the same mistake again.
Damn them.
Then there is this: the Great Barrington Declaration, in which:
As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.
The Great Barrington Declaration – As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.
Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.
Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed.
Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza.
As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e. the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity.
The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.
Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent PCR testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.
Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.
This too, obviously, is forbidden knowledge — as it leaves open the option of supporting President Trump’s re-election.
Senator Melissa Mendez said: “The Governor has just moved Riverside County back into the most restrictive lockdown tier. With unemployment in CA 50% higher than the national average, he has just put MORE people out of work. We cannot sustain this
Now, most recently in Kalifornia, two newer events, first from Gavin Newsom:
California Announces Restrictive Reopening Guidelines For Disneyland, Universal Studios; Less Restrictive Measures For Smaller Parks
by Tom Tapp, 10-20-20
On Monday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom teased the release of reopening rules for theme parks in the state, saying cryptically, “We are going to break up the theme parks…Not just one or two brands, it is many different parts of the theme park industry.”
Well, now we know what that means.
California’s director of Health and Human Services Dr. Mark Ghaly said Tuesday that smaller theme parks can resume operations in the state’s Orange Tier. Capacity will be limited to 25% or 500 visitors, whichever is fewer. Only outdoor attractions may reopen and only to guests who are residents of the same county.
Sure. Let’s make sure the “guidelines” are as convoluted and changeably fluctuous as possible, like trying to nail Jello to a tree.
The announcement drew a swift, negative reaction from executives at Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Legoland and others.
Masks must be worn in all parks at all times, except when visitors are eating or drinking. Reservations will be required for all parks, with temperature checks at the gate.
Orange County, where Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm are, is currently in the Red Tier. Los Angeles, home to Universal Studios, is in the most restrictive tier, Purple.
Does anyone completely understand, by the way, the concept of a virus completely and voluntarily halting its spread when our mouths are open, eating?
So here’s what you have to do per Obergrüppenführer Newsom:
Among the physical distancing recommendations are:
-One-way foot traffic and clear directions to better control the flow of guests throughout the park, especially in certain heavily used and/or narrow throughways
-Plexiglass dividers on switchback lines/queues for attractions and concessions, or close sections of switchback lines/queues to ensure sufficient physical distance between visitors
-Implement timed and/or advanced reservation ticketing systems and pre-assigned seating or activity areas
-Discontinue tours or guided experiences that combine households or individuals from different households into the same tour group (Disneyland’s Haunted House comes to mind here)
-Face coverings are mandatory on attractions and rides throughout the park.
-No indoor lines are allowed for any attraction or ride.
My first thought: what’s the point? And again, as I continue to point out, it’s “cases cases cases.” Sooner or later everyone is going to be a “case.” “Cases” mean nothing.
You can clearly see why Disney CEO Bob Iger is most definitely off the Newsom Train, as he has had to release 28,000 employees. And running Disneyland is completely unsustainable on a 25% capacity.
Then this from a San Diego health official.
Dr. Wooten says it’s not her job to listen to WHO advice on lockdowns
by KUSI, 10-21-20
I speak Leftist, so let me translate: “the actual science can go to hell.”
It was sure odd how most Leftists were all adrape over the WHO and CDC when they advocated mass lockdowns, however. Strange, I’d say.
Can you be more nakedly political than this? Perhaps; I’m not quite sure how.
And also a very new story, this time from NPR:
Studies Point To Big Drop In COVID-19 Death Rates
by Geoff Brumfiel, 10-20-20
Two new peer-reviewed studies are showing a sharp drop in mortality among hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The drop is seen in all groups, including older patients and those with underlying conditions, suggesting that physicians are getting better at helping patients survive their illness.
“We find that the death rate has gone down substantially,” says Leora Horwitz, a doctor who studies population health at New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine and an author on one of the studies, which looked at thousands of patients from March to August.
The study, which was of a single health system, finds that mortality has dropped among hospitalized patients by 18 percentage points since the pandemic began. Patients in the study had a 25.6% chance of dying at the start of the pandemic; they now have a 7.6% chance.
You see a trend here? Something similar to “the science says open up” but Leftists are doing the opposite?
So what have we learned?
A few things.
When Demorats, Leftists and the American Media Maggots bleat, scream and cry that “it’s all about the science” in terms of Wuhan-19, you should instantly substitute in your Brain Housing Group:
“In an election year, everything is about the election.”
And moreover, making sure that OMB, President Donald John Trump, the guy with the dead cat on his head, isn’t re-elected.
It’s that simple.
